Our delve into the Gameweek 9 data comes around tonight, as we cast an eye over City’s weekend goal heroes in our first members article of the week. Arsenal’s midfield differentials and Newcastle’s four-goal Dutchman are on our radar, whilst we also asses a couple of overlooked recruits for our five-man backlines ahead of the weekend deadline.

3 for the longer term, 4 for shorter term (facing average defensive teams for the next few other than Stoke)

No FT. Drop Hazard for a 4 point hit?

    Butland
    Zouma - Toby - Hangeland
    Sanchez - Hazard - Payet - Mahrez - KDB
    Pelle - Vardy

    Martial / Nyom / Targett / McCarthy

    Hazard to :

    A) Ozil
    B) Eriksen
    C) Mata
    D) Wijnaldum
    E) Willian

    My lineup at the moment.

    De Gea
    Cathcart | Davies | Evans
    Mata | Sanchez (C) | Mahrez | De Bruyne
Ighalo | Costa (VC) | Vardy

Bench : Mc Carthy | Mane | Kelly | Sagna

Good to go? Or should I start Mane instead of Ighalo?

    1. Mark-O
      11 years, 3 days ago

Starting Mane might be better since you don't have Pelle.

      1. El Cube
        11 years, 3 days ago

Mane away vs Liverpool though. IMO Ighalo away vs Stoke is a better shout. Dont you reckon?

    2. pompeyfan

I'd start Mane over Ighalo. Stoke kept out Swansea last gw

        1. pompeyfan

I didn't see it either, but also consider that Watford have the worst attack (statistically) in the league.

          1. El Cube

True. Just realised that. Only 6 goals scored so far.

Start Ighalo. Why Sanchez over Vardy (c)?

      1. El Cube
        11 years, 3 days ago

No particular reason. Palace has won 3 out of 4 away games though.

Plus, Sanchez looks like the safer bet than Vardy (even if he is BPL top scorer atm).

Not sure if he is safe, Wenger is now talking about him being exhausted and it is "too much". I would say he is in danger of being rested this weekend.

Anybody considering Liverpool attackers? Firmino or Sturridge?

    1. El Cube

Difficult fixtures. Im going to wait 1 or 2 weeks to see who will shine under Klopp first before bringing any Liverpool offensive player in.

I'm probably going to knee jerk in Moreno or Van Dijk before the week's done... what a waste, but I still have my TV for my December wildcard to consider... sigh

      1. Your Mum's Athletic
        11 years, 3 days ago

good transfer, i wanted to do it early but champs league and the last int. break made me wait. Moreno could be great value at 4.9 not sure on Van Dijk just yet, he looked extremely slow for my liking

        1. Prøphet

I would pick VvD just for the CS and the odd goal. I believe he will have a total of 5 goals this season if he stays injury free. Maybe one assist.

Big question over Belle start vs Eve, but thats how life goes. They need him for Bayern. Also, now ARS have almost everything in their hands. If they win both games vs Zagreb and Olympiacos they will be through. (unless Bayern loses which would jeopardize them going through)

Hear what your saying, that said he's only scored 6pts in the last 3 so whilst another is in hot form and Mahrez has gone off the boil I'm hoping that it may be an opportunity to make some gains in overall rank.

Haha! Do you really have to ask people on here whether Staylor to Bellerin is a good move?

The argument for using it in dgw is you get to buy cheap dgw players and still play your big hitting sgws.

The counter argument to that is triple captain could be even better

Play Darmian (MCI) or Huth (CRY)?

I've got Mahrez and Vardy, no other United cover.

The great thing with Lexy is that he'll come on for 10 mins and still score 2 goals.

To be quite honest im scared for both Sanchez and Bellerin . Both might not start.

Arsenal don't play Bayern next week mate. They have league cup. They can rest them then.

Thats a fair point. Not sure why i believed CL game was the next week. Made no sense, but i still thought. (you would think watching football for god knows how many years would give me the proper information 🙂 )

sanchez wont want to be rested, hes in to good form to be rested, he will be rested when he needs it, not for sake of it,wenger has said this many times before

Just putting the info out there. He put in some effort last night in fairness to him, I wouldn't be surprised.

Going for Vardy captain myself, keeping away from him just in case. He is so bloody explosive though, hope don't regret it.

    Current team:

    McCarthy
    Skrtel - Kolarov - Cresswell
    Sanchez - Mahrez - Mata - Sterling - Ozil
    Martial - Vardy

    Who should be captain?!

    1. t4thomas

      Sanchez or Vardy.

      1. MergingCultures

I am an LCFC fan, but I just worry about Vardy! He can't keep scoring every week...

I had Sanchez as C last week, was thinking Ozil this week, just for variety!

I don't know if this is trying to be too clever... But next week I plan on doing Westwood > Silva (if fit) and playing AoA so that I invest the Aguero money and can bench Dawson against Leicester without having to take a hit.

    Thoughts?
