Hasn't Vardy been a revelation this season? Part of me keeps thinking its all going to come to a crashing halt at some point (no reason behind thinking this, other than all good things come to and end eventually), but I'm enjoying the ride! I got him in for GW4, and he's scored every week since (8 goals over 6 GWs), I cant ever remember an FPL player being this consistently good before?

I haven't captained him at all, as I never expected such consistency! I got Aguero soon after, so he had the armband until he got injured, so you can imagine how frustrating that was (other than his 50 point haul).

Thats true, though 8 goals in 6 games? I dont think I was playing when Yaya was that price. Kane last season is this seasons Vardy (or the other way around)?
couldn't tell you exactly but Kane and Ramsey were inexplicable at times.
Yaya was in the 8m range so a bit different, but he was scoring free kicks for funI remember Ramsey's breakout season, I resisted getting him for so long because I didnt think he could keep that scoring/assisting form up, but I eventually bit the bullet and got him in.

Giroud comes on with 20 mins to go after Walcott have run the legs off the defenders for the first 60 mins. I would start Walcott every game up front. Giroud doesn't help the team I see him put up his hand apologizing to his team mates than any other player in the epl.

Na, it's better to simply ignore Palace defenders. Pardew doesn't care about CSs and they don't keep them (don't be fooled by CSs against Watford and WBA, my grandma could keep CSs against them)

Debatable, now while I'm sure your grandma was an astute centre-back, I'm not so sure she'd have it that easy. Palace's first eight fixtures (nor, ARS, AVL, che, MCI, tot, wat, WBA, WHU), were very hard from a defensive standpoint.
As a 4.6, benched most of the time 5th defender, I don't see what the problem if he's strictly played according to fixture strength.Before their game against Watford they didn't keep a CS for in excess of 20 games I believe. It's not just a fixture thing.
I'd prefer a defence I think is capable of getting CSs, so a defensive minded Watford defender,I'm aware of the stat, but from the games I've watched Hangeland's has massively improved their defensive shape of late.
I'm not sure how Watford are that much more capable of CS's, considering Palace have conceded 10 goals in 9 matches with CS's vs WBA & wat with tougher fixtures in (nor, ARS, AVL, che, MCI, tot, wat, WBA, WHU). While Watford have recorded their three CS“s at home vs WBA, SOU & SWA, conceding 9 goals in 9 matches with arguably kinder fixtures (eve, WBA, SOU, mci, SWA, new, CRY, bou, ARS)
Keeping in mind the long term, come Gw17, Watford have outright horrible fixtures that you'll be bringing in towards Christmas rotation. (LIV, che, TOT, MCI, sou, swa, NEW, CHE). I'd be hard-pressed to find my team under rotation threat around boxing day & have to rely on Watford.
Palace meanwhile have way better long term prospects going into Gw14 and beyond (SUN, NEW, eve, SOU, stk, bou, SWA, CHE, avl). Both defenses offer similar potential, though one offers better prospects long term & a full-back with better attacking threat playing for a more attacking team.

Some tactical titbits that I liked and I think it's of relevence to FPL too, a bit long, so you might skip if you dont have any Chelsea asset or is not interested in acquiring one in near term,
1. Another clean sheet, but it was no fluke, the defense in looked much more like last season, compact and organized and Cesar Azpilicueta being again deployed at left-back to nullify the threat from Andriy Yarmolenko, and boy he did his job right. The Kiev dangerman was kept at bay for pretty much the full 90, a tactical masterclass indeed. Zouma played at right-back.
2. Hazard was restored to the midfield and almost scored on his return, more importantly was active all throughout the game, excatly what Jose wanted from him.
3. Fabregas played in a more forward role, Ramires showed great energy in midfield, Willian was a threat from set-pieces and Diego Costa should have scored. Matic was man of the match, which pretty much sums it up I believe.
While the scoreline tells that Chelsea failed to win, but truth is that Chelsea was fantastic, its their bad luck that they hit the crossbar twice and had a strong penalty appeal waved away when Cesc Fabregas went down after a Serhiy Rybalka challenge.
After the match Jose said : "We are much more solid now.
"Two matches, two clean sheets. No problems defensively. The team was really solid and compact, the midfield really strong.
"We are recovering that compactness, solidarity, effort, tactical discipline - these qualities that are very important when you are not flying, you are not scoring goals, you are not playing with that confidence and attacking flair."
All in all, I reckon, thos who have Chelsea assests, hold them, for those who don't and still read till the end, probably time to consider investing, at least in defense, Azpi being the cheapest and most nailed route. Fabregas looks ripe to investment as well for those who dont want to spend 11.2m for Hazard.Nice summary and insight. How u think they will go on the weekend?
I think for Jose it'll be more about keeping a clean sheet and winning the match 1-0 or 2-0 and building the confidence that way.
Especially against West Ham, who if I am not not wrong has scored the second most number of goals this season till now. So if they keep a Clean sheet in the weekend it'll do a world of good for the confidence of the players and the team, which is still as good as it was last season, it's only an issue of lacking in confidence as Jose himself said quite a few times in the past few weeks.
