Gameweek 10’s send-off pits Liverpool against Southampton at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp oversaw a 0-0 draw away to Tottenham in his first match at the helm, while Saints might still be ruing what could’ve been after surrendering a two-goal lead against Leicester City.

The Reds ranked third for attempts (69) and shots on target (26) over the last four Gameweeks, yet harvested just five goals. It’s hardly surprising, then, that Watford (5.4%) are the only outfit with an inferior shot-conversion rate than the Merseysiders (6.1%) this term. On a more positive note, Klopp will draw encouragement from the fact that only West Bromwich Albion (22) and Manchester City (21) conceded fewer shots inside the box (23) over that period.

Southampton are unbeaten on their travels this season and recorded a sensational 3-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The south-coast club rank bottom for shots inside the box conceded in away matches (21), while only Crystal Palace (one) allowed fewer big chances (two). Their shot frequency on the road (one every 6.8 minutes) is excellent, too – only three sides fired off attempts with greater regularity.

VVD could be the best pick of the Southampton defence. Good BAPS potential, goal threat (especially from set pieces). Only issue is he is more expensive than the rest.

Also do I ship Williams or Darmian (lost his place?)

Williams has a couple of good fixtures, I'm keeping (reluctantly).

Darmian has some good fixtures too, but we need to see if he has indeed lost his place.

Shipping either could be the wrong move.

Valencia probably injured, so I'm holding onto Darmian, and Williams (only for fixtures).
Martin and Prodl are more urgent in my backline to ship 🙂
