Spurs duo Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen arrive under analysis in our first members piece of the week. Watford’s budget frontman, Arsene Wenger’s dilemma up front and Leicester’s out-of-position Ghanaian are also on our radar after impressive weekend showings.
Morning guys! Would you save a FT this week with this lot?
Ruddy
Mertesacker, Cedric, Bellerin
Sanchez, KDB, Payet, Mahrez
Pelle, Vardy, Bony
subs: Rudd --- Williams, Huth, Bentaleb --- 1 FT, 4.3 ITB
A) Save FT
B) Ruddy -> someone
C) Mertesacker -> Kolarov
D) Something elseB or maybe Rudd to someone
C but i prefer kompany
This
Team is ok but it looks more decent to ship out Ruddy rather than Mertesacker if you want to use the FT. Myhill or Gomes for you?
Cheers. Was considering Howard also but Myhill Gomes could be options.
Ruddy is facing a bad run of fixtures which can give you zero pts anytime. Your defenders are pretty rotatable with a good range of selection.
Howard is a little pricey and doesn't seem to keep CS really well.Thoughts about Stekelenburg?
If you are willing to risk him against Manchester City in a couple of weeks time, then go for it. So far, Southampton seems to find getting CS a little hard. Curret fixtures for him other than Man City, yes but after that it's a punt.
You could bring Kolorov in but God be spending you're Aguero money and he's apparently only two weeks away so you'd have to make 2 transfers to get him.If your wanting Kun as soon as he's back I'd save.
Rudd to Gomes probably best move
Cheers Sigh. I still have Wildcard intact also so could WC when Kun is back. Could be still wise move to save with Aguero not too far away from return.
Get stekelenburg.Very overlooked but has great fixtures
Another good option. Thanks Moleicester.
If you want assured CS option,Just get DDG or Hart.Quality keepers with relatively easy fixtures.Personally I like rotating keepers...
Mertesacker isn't as nailed on as he used to be, and City should also be more likely to keep a clean sheet imo. Can see why you are considering to save as you have good striking and midfield options!
Popular midfielders have more PPG than popular strikers this years, is it new or is same every season?.
So how serious is Costa's injury then? Tempted to swap him for Bony on a -4
Swap him anyway, injured or not
I could play Ayew vs Arsenalbut Bony looks so much more appealing
I've got Bony (c). I would do it for a hit. Either Bony or Kane
nice grav mate!
Karl Pilkington is taking over this site!
I did Costa to Bony for -4. Slap the captain's armband on him to make the hit less painful.
What do people think of Arsenal Midfielders now that Walcott and Oxlade Chamberlain got injured last night. I remember last season Ozil got pushed out to the wing and wasnt as effective as he is when playing central as he is now. Will Cazorla now take Ozils position.
Is Giroud now essential with Walcott missing? Depending how long Walcott is out for of courseI don't know whether it's myth or whether there's substance to it, but I heard somewhere Sanchez's output suffers with Giroud playing.
There was this:
http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2015/07/13/sun-dream-team-is-live-ffs-league-sign-up/?hc_page=2#hc_comment_10500740
More anecdotally, last season he scored the vast majority of his goals in the first half of the season when Ozil and Giroud were variously crocked. As soon as they both came back in the team (January-ish) Sanchez's output dropped markedly. But then, it's quite small sample sizes and I could never be bothered to do the analysis on a deeper level (like number of shots).'anecdotally' is the wrong word but you know what I mean.
How could Giroud suddenly be "essential"!? Do we even know the extent of Walcott's injury?
As i said I asked the Question is Giroud now essential depending how long Walcott is out for??
Well no one is "essential", certainly not Giroud when we have Vardy, Pelle, Bony, Kane, Lukaku and co all around.
Has Giroud ever been 'essential'?
Play Butland or Schmeicel ?
I'm probably going Butland
Leicester has one clean sheet all year.. Got to be butland
Hi guys. Is Ottamendi the best Man City defender to buy long term? Is he injury-prone?
No, Kompany is the best option
He's obviously expensive but apparently comes with a history of goals and seems to be favoured by the Bonus System.
I don't know anything about his injury history but I have a slight concern over rotation with Mangala; it's probably not a genuine threat but for 6.5 I want absolutely certainty.Kompany being injury prone and the full backs being rotation friendly probably makes him the best option though.
Probably. Just wish he was 0.5 cheaper, would ease the concerns a little.
Keen to upgrade McCarthy to a playing keeper. Myhill has a tough run in GW12 and GW13. Are others looking to bring in another keeper for McCarthy? If so, who?
Current line up:
Myhill
Kolorov, Bellerin, Alderweireld
Mata, KDB, Sanchez, Mahrez
Vardy, Pelle Bony
McCarthy; Francis, WIlliams, WestwoodGomes
Watford are playing Man Utd in GW 13....
I have Myhill and McCarthy but if I were to have Kun back, I must not change my GK combo. Gomes is alright but there's no point in changing a GK unless he is Ruddy or Boruc.
I hope KDB blanks this weekend
Because you don't have KDB.
don't like gingers
are you wishing upon him sterility in the chamber that his flame haired shoots might never bear seed?
Racist
(C)
same here
I hope all the players I don't own blank this weekend.
Why are these popular and injured players that recover will injure themselves again? Do they have bad luck or what?
Pedro, Benteke, Sturridge, Aguero, Silva, etcCurrent squad
Hennesey, Schmeichel
Sagna, Azpi, Francis, Targett, Coates
Sanchez, Payet, KDB, Mahrez, Sinclair
Pelle, Vardy, Ighalo
itb: £7.2m
a) sort out defence
B) Sinclair to Mane
C) Ighalo to Kane
D) otherB and C
Madness to drop any of the followings for Bony (c)?
Lukaku Pelle Vardythinking of bringing him for martial...
I wouldn't drop any of those, I actually think they may all outscore Bony.
I have the same forward line. I don't think it's a sensible move..
can't say I have been impressed by lukaku
He's actually had a really good season up until the last couple of games, and could have scored against Arsenal. The Utd game was just poor all around from Everton.
unnecessary
WBA will be tough for Lei, so Vardy, if you're a brave man
Thanks all. Probably better sit tight and hope Bony not doing much damage
I hope so 🙂
Been mulling over your plans and considering joining you in upgrading my 5th midfielder and giving myself a benching headache. Will be looking into it in more detail today.I will rather have benching headache than forced to play Westwood when Mahrez gets benched unexpectedly.
Altough upgradeing 5th mid is short term move to me.
Well yes, it's not a structure I'd stick with for an extended period and I worry about how I'll dismantle it again - I'm bound to be torn as to which midfielder to switch back to a 4.5 bench fodder when I need to free the funds up again. And I will.
I will probably bring Sterling in for this week and he is the one who goes when Aguero is back.
I like this plan. Not many on here seem to agree though!
Which is quite strange tbh.
Haven't reviewed the options yet but Sterling, Mane, Yaya, Ozil all on my list to consider...
Whos leading atm? Care to share when you have made decision? I'm quite torn between Sterling,Yaya and Mane.
Will do, I genuinely haven't looked at them enough to have a favourite at the moment. It may come down to who leaves enough cash for me to get a Man Utd defender/goalkeeper.
Vardy maybe if for free
I can't help but think that with all the attractive mid-range options in midfield it's harder than ever to get away from the chasing pack this season. If you look to most of our midfields and RMT's, its more than likely we'll see more or less the same layout (Mahrez, Payet, Alexis, KDB, etc.)
Looking at the % ownership behind these its upwards of 25, 30 even 40-50% in some cases. I like to think FPL success is by minimising hits, playing safe, staying consistent along with one or two differentials.
There are still plenty of quality differential players, but also in defence when you see % ownerships between 1-5% despite having fantastic upcoming fixtures. I think this is mainly because people do tend to chase last week's scorers (not that there is always too much wrong with getting the form players in but its always better to look ahead, e.g. what happened on the Wijnaldum wagon).
Many here (including myself) have debated the forward lines of Bony, Lukaku, Kane, Pelle etc., perhaps even taking an early hit to bring in your forward of choice. I'm starting to think along the lines of: will having Lukaku, for example, or Giroud instead of Kane, or Pelle make that much of a difference? I.e., is this a rational, well considered move or just a sideways step? The difference can be relatively small, and even then as we all know it usually comes down to luck and who you end up giving the armband to.
Basically, I am more keen as we enter the winter period to tighten up the defence and be more conservative with transfers. I think we will begin to see more clean sheets soon, injuries will pile up (ala Arsenal) and I think the FPL managers who succeed are not those who are looking over their shoulder at last week's top scorers but those looking ahead at the players likely to return based on their next 5 fixtures, for example.
tl;dr: Remember to look ahead rather than behind - there's a reason why your windshield is larger than your rear view mirror.I don't think it's any different this season to previous ones. If you've a good OR, staying on template keeps you there. If not, you need to be creative.
I think it is in terms of in previous seasons the 'big hitting' midfielders have usually started scoring at the same time, increased in price meaning that not everyone could just hop onboard the wagon, at least without taking a hit.
This season with so many players in the 6-8m range scoring impressively well its a lot easier for many to quickly jump onboard making it harder to climb the leaderboards.
I also think the lack of a clear captain most weeks means it is much closer, harder to pull away with hit n miss captain choices so far
On a WC
Gomes, Hennessy
Bellerin, Azpi, Moreno, Nyom, Simpson
Alexis, Mahrez, KDB, Mane, Ayew
Lukaku, Pelle, Vardy
Any changes you see? Maybe Azpi to someone else? Been holding on to Azpi all season, just have the feeling that once I sell him, the Chelsea CS start coming.Did you think about Kane instead of Lukaku ?
Lukaku's fixtures just look too damn good
Azpi to Kolorov imo
Get rid of azpi on WC surely. Jose has lost the dressing room.. You haven't lost any TV and he ain't going up in price any time soon. get him back in when Chelsea's form finally changes.. It's not like he's going to belt out a 20.. In the meantime, get Coleman, Kompany, VVD who all have great fixtures
Thanks for the suggestions, certainly thinking of getting rid of Azpi
Glass.
They are made of glass.Arsenal?
Howdja guess?
He saw through your comment
Best option in Man Utd's defence other than Smalling?
I like the look of Rojo.Hes cheaper but Smalling seems more nailed on.
Elliot - Butland
Azpiz - Alderw - Moreno - Souare - Cook
Sanchez - Mata - Payet - KevinDB - Wanyama
Romeo - Pelle - Vardy
2FT and 0.9ITB
a> Azpi -> Kompany
b> Mata -> Mane & Pelle/Lukaku -> Bony/Kane
c> Other suggestions?Who is Romeo?
Ooops, I meant Romelu...
Would like some thoughts about this; Playing AoA most likely with VvD taking up one spot the other possible candidates are Cresswell / Huth / Bellerin . Who would you pick ? Currently on Huth
Also, debating should i Cresswell > Kola ?!
AoA would be this
Butland
VvD Huth
Mahrez Payet KDB Sanchez Mane
Pelle Vardy Lukaku
Issue is defense is pretty solid, but i wanted to AoA, now that i look at it its not necessary.I'd play Cresswell (Watford 1 goal all season at home) and Bellerin and save your AOA chip.
Cheers, I was thinking about that as well. Not sure if WHU will keep a cleenie this week. Also then i will have an issue on who to bench in top 8.
Go for Kane or Lukaku or Bony?
Already have KDB.I feel Sunderland have turned a corner so getting Lukaku might not be the best option
Bony
Iheanacho to start tonight and Bony on saturday but will get subbed around 60mins due to Sevilla game?
Who knows mate, i do think Ihe will start tonight the rest is an unknown
Silva, Bony, KDB to get subbed off early? How about Sterling and Yaya? Three sub changes allowed.. hmm!
If Silva is fit I think he will start and get subbed for Navas. Then Iheanacho for Bony and Fernandinho for Yaya.
OR
Silva in for KDB for last 30 mins.and Navas for Sterling.
Only torn between 2 options now for my Costa replacement. He was going out my team anyway, even before he got injured.
A) Kane (AVL)
B) Bony (NOR)
Which of these 2 do we reckon will get more points this week? Kane's goals last week were handed on a platter to him IMO. Bournemouth were a shambles defensively. But Villa are bottom of the table. Norwich are horrific though...Flip a coin
you are not convinced by Lukaku ?
I have the same Inquiry
Most of the people here will tell you KaneFor the next 2 Bony but if you plan keeping for awhile I think I would go for kane
A
Race to 3 -
Sterling or Mane for (C)?Mane
Mane. More minutes to do damage
Toss a coin. I guess Mane.
Mane
Out of those, Mane.
There's really not much in it, points-wise. If you have them both then maybe Sterling - but of you're looking to buy then It'd probably be Mane.
Ok so is jt worth a -8 and AOA chip to create this?
Just done: Dann > Van Dijk and was pondering Anya + Costa > Mane + Bony
Team would be:
Cech
Alderweireld - Van Dijk
Sanchez - Payet - Mahrez - KDB - Mane
Pelle - Bony - Vardy
subs: McCarthy Bellerin Dawson Richards
Thoughts? Is -8 too much?I'd play Bellerin and just do Costa to Bony
Silva to be back this weekend we think?
Bench
According to news, most likely.
On the bench maybe, no need to start against Norwich after an injury
Think he'll get a half or there abouts to build fitness for Sevilla game.
Spurs no home defeat this season and no defeat since opening day v villa 6 defeats in a row and no manager.
Away win?Francis or Richards > VVD?
Having a real hard time with this one!
Francis more attacking and less chance of dropping in price.
Richards new manager effect?
Both teams leaky...Bournmouth have been terrible. I'd get rid of Francis
Aguero worth it if Silva gets a long term injury?
Yes even though he's a crock
Transfer in Jones or Rojo?
Rojo
Blind will take Rojo spot back sooner than later..
Best 2/3 week punt is Giroud with Wally out. Why the rush to get Bony/Lukaku,etc if all you are doing is getting Kun when fit?
Better options elsewhere. Swansea and spurs next for arsenal and they won't be easy.
good shout!
Because they have better fixtures for the next couple of GW's while Kun is still unfit...
I have had Butland and Myhill the entire season, but as the fixtures are turning for the worse, is it time to ship one of them? Which keeper to go for over the next 6 matches. Should I stick with Myhill/or Butland, or perhaps switch to de Gea, Cech or Howard??
Thoughts?Follow the stats (Mane) or A dream I had (KDB)
They both have stats so follow your dream
If your sheets were wet go KDB
haha
Stats. Thats mainly because my dreams are scary as hell so i would never advice anyone to follow their dreams.
