What should I do with this lot after today?

    Butland
    Dawson, Toby, Kolarov
    Sanchez, KDB, Mahrez, Payet
    Vardy, Martial, Pelle

    Subs: Schmeichel, Ward, Francis, Westwood

    4.3m in account, 2ft.

      Martial > Benteke & save?

      1. Sz21
        10 years, 11 months ago

        I guess so.
I like Martial but it seems LVG refuses to play him up top.

United have good fixtures and hope I wont be missing out.
Got to choose between Benteke, Lukaku, Kane and maybe Giroud.

      Martial to Ighalo?

      1. Sz21
        10 years, 11 months ago

Sold Ighalo for Vardy a couple of weeks ago.
Even Vardy is the man atm- Ighalo has outscored him in those 2 weeks. Its mad..

  2. kalmoffit

Would hold Ayew if I had him. Swansea look a whole lot better with Ki back. Might have scraped a draw if they'd marked Giroud from the corner.

Could have been four or five in the end. Still, I think they'll win their next two.

      No way man...

      1. davies
        10 years, 11 months ago

        Why?

In theory only a -2 and better long term.

        1. Acquafresca
          10 years, 11 months ago

Don't think like that, just play another defender. It's always a -4, since your replacement can always get 0.

        2. BIG TONES
          10 years, 11 months ago

What the guy said below, 2 points isn't guaranteed. It's honestly a good transfer for free, not for -4 though

  10. Acquafresca

Very surprised people benched Mahrez over Ayew, including Mark.

Swansea have been utter crap going forward and were always going to be up against it vs a strong Arsenal side.

Whereas Leicester are on fire and had score 2 goals in 4 of their last 5 away matches.

No I'm not trying to be captain hindsight or anything, just genuinely surprised.

        1. kalmoffit
          10 years, 11 months ago

Many thought Brom defence would hold firm. Ayew had two cleared on the line and was lively throughout.

    2. Alittude
      10 years, 11 months ago

this is why i have avoided getting a good 5th mid, benching headaches are horrid. i already feel bad about having nyom and henn on the bench, cant magine what id feel with mahrez on there too. my ml rival benched mahrez and it allowed me to over take him by those 15 points.

      1. Emp

to bench the highest owned player in the game is just foolhardy no matter who hes playing or who the alternaative is

  11. davies
    10 years, 11 months ago

    Bench:

    A) Payet (EVE)
    B) Mane (sun)
    C) Pelle (sun)

    Currently on Pelle.

    1. Acquafresca
      10 years, 11 months ago

This is what happens when you get 8 solid outfield players. Anyone you bench could score points.

      1. Acquafresca
        10 years, 11 months ago

I would definitely not bench Pelle vs a poor Sunderland side.

        1. davies

                Ok. But look at Chelsea.

Now look at Sunderland. 10x worse at the back, could easily replicate those Chelsea returns.

    Bellerin Alderwield Dawson Francis Nyom

Thinking of doing Francis > Smalling. Good option?

Then which 3 should i pick to start next week?

    1. Jafalad

      Too expensive for what's around.

      Bell/Daw/Nyom

      1. Alittude
        10 years, 11 months ago

i have the funds though now after ditching hazard, and dont want a 5th mid to cause benching headaches. Perfectly happy with vardy mahrez and ighalo going forward and getting kun back in.

        1. Jafalad
          10 years, 11 months ago

Fair enough although you might want to compare the scores of mids with fwds.

          1. Alittude
            10 years, 11 months ago

ahh sorry i feel dumb but what do you mean by that? That mids are scoring a lot more than forwards? I just don't want to have to face benching headaches each week because i see how detrimental it can be. payet, kdb, sanchez, mahrez, is ok for me going forward. I could get ayew instead of another defender but then would have to bench one every week, dont see it being worth it.

Thanks though for your suggestions and ill play around with it a bit to see if it appeals to me. cheers.

            1. Alittude
              10 years, 11 months ago

hm could fit in moreno for francis, and drinkwater to ayew, and have kun back. but yeah just scared about benching the wrong option each week.

              1. Jafalad
                10 years, 11 months ago

Just bench a forward depending on fixture. Hard to bench one of six mid at present.

                  10 years, 11 months ago

thanks for the tip man i will keep that in mind. if igs and vardy stop scoring then it would be wise to get a 5th mid, thanks.

Irrelevant. The game is decided on points not value.

                  1. Nabs Kebabs
                    10 years, 11 months ago

Lol. Last time i checked there was a limited budget. That statement would only be true if there was unlimited funds.

                    1. Jafalad
                      10 years, 11 months ago

Baffles me why you think the game is about value. It's really simple: get the players in who score the most points.

You can't go budget on your mids and fwds - cheap players tend to bring in less points.

                      1. Nabs Kebabs
                        10 years, 11 months ago

Where did i say it is simply about value?

My theory is captain options and value around them. KDB is not captain option.

                        Mahrez, Vardy, Ighalo....

                Yeah but talk about form.

9 assists in 11 games is insanity.

KDB has been good but Ozil better value atm (much cheaper)

                1. Jafalad
                  10 years, 11 months ago

Fair point but you need to look at the bigger picture. CTY have been scoring heap of goals..and then there is the Sanchez issue.

I don't see how you can go w/out a CTY mid right now. Ozil has been a very unreliable oik in the past. If he scored more goals I might consider him.

If you conpare this season to his previous epl seasons he is underperforming in terms of goals. lots more to come

      2. Nabs Kebabs
        10 years, 11 months ago

Value. 10.6m is not cheap and Kun will be back soon so i want to be able to get him easily in one transfer.

His shots are mainly outside the box and he seems lucky to have 3 goals to his name.

I honestly believe Mane is a far better fpl option. A lot more goal threat and that's without looking at price..

"His shots are mainly outside the box and he seems lucky to have 3 goals to his name."

This is irrelevant. It doesn't matter where he scores from. The fact of the matter is he is a better goal threat than Ozil, the primary basis when selecting mids.

            10 years, 11 months ago

            Since KDB joined EPL

            KDB -48 pts
            Ozil - 52 pts

            10.6m
            8.6m

KDB's goal threat is still quite poor regardless. I am normally all about goal threat but only when they are a strong captain option, KDB is not. Ozil has more double digit hauls in his last 4 than KDB since he joined City.

Have you seen the ppg of the two players? 🙄

Not sure how you can go each week without a CTY mid either.

                10 years, 11 months ago

When Aguero is healthy I'm not sure you need double attack. Arsenal are capable of scoring many goals also.

                  10 years, 11 months ago

Errr...you need double City always as they are the best attacking team in the PL

                    10 years, 11 months ago

You don't *need* anyone, let alone coverage.

                      10 years, 11 months ago

Kolarov qualifies as an attacker btw and you don't need anything in life for that matter

                      1. Billy Gilmore
                        10 years, 11 months ago

You know what I mean. Just because City score a lot of goals doesn't make their picks individually better.

    5. Nickofoz

Mane for me. KDB has overperformed thus far, should tick along nicely but he won't score too many as he mainly takes shots outside the box

      1. Nabs Kebabs
        10 years, 11 months ago

finally someone who agrees on KDB. Poor value imo.

Bit of a benching headache at the back - which 3 to start?

    A) Kolarov (avl)
    B) Bellerin (TOT)
    C) VVD (sun)
    D) Moreno (CPL)
    E) Simpson (WAT)

    1. Acquafresca

A+B are a given. C or D is your dilemma.

    7. Nickofoz

My captaincy picks have been soooo bad this year! With the exception of Aggy's 5 goal haul in GW8 I've been this. Anybody worse?

    1, 9, 2, 2, 3, 5, 2, 1, 2, 2

    1. Acquafresca
      10 years, 11 months ago

      Exact same almost.

      2, 9, 2, 2, 3, 5, 2, 2, ?

On top of that, our Benteke(c) goal was way offside. LOL

      10 years, 11 months ago

Guys this is the week to save that free transfer so we have two FTs for the international break (and hopefully Aguero return). Resist those sideways transfers.
