We delve into the Gameweek 20 data this evening in our first members article of the week. Wayne Rooney’s upturn in attacking potential arrives under analysis, whilst we also cast an eye over midfielders from Spurs, West Ham, Arsenal and Newcastle, before assessing Liverpool and Leicester’s threat in the final third.
WUBALUBADUBDUB!
can't believe we have to wait until 2017...guys will Myhill lose his place this weekend, and if so should I sell him? also when is City's last cup match before the weekend game against Everton?
Saturday.
Sell him if you have no pressing issues and/or no other playing keeper btw.
Cool thanks...I have Hennessey as my backup GK so maybe I will wait for now and see what happens with that. If Foster takes his starting spot, I might just do Myhill>Foster later on.
I reckon max 1 game for Myhill. That reaction from Pulis when Myhill's error cost them draw.
mistake against Swans**
Was fairly unlucky I reckon. Didn't react quick enough though.
Damn it's not looking good for Myhill then...yeah that error against Swans was pretty bad, gifted Ki the goal. Hopefully he starts for a couple more games, have Hennessey as backup anyway so should be ok for now if Myhill does get dropped. Also hope Kun doesn't rise up in price before Sat but that looks unlikely I think :/
Right lads, change of plan
Definitely saving unless injuries happen
With the Liverpool situation and Foster news, I don't feel comfortable using it 🙂good idea. hell even though I still have 1 FT left after getting Payet I'm still regretting not just keeping 2 FT until the weekend
Ye, bit of a knee jerk but at least the second FT gives you a bit of leeway
I mean that move will likely save me 0.3m-0.5m depending on when I did it down the line had I waited
🙂
Silva to Siggy a silly move with Silva having 2 home fixtures next?
when people are captaining City assets, it's probably not a good idea to sell an influential one 😉
Yeah IMO.
yup I would keep Silva for those 2 home games and maybe sell afterwards if he doesn't perform
This is exactly what I'm doing.
I think so yes
Reply fail to Merseyside Red
Would be grateful to hear some suggestions lads? Thanks
DeBruyne Özil Mahrez ______ Alli
Agüero Lukaku ______
A) Ighalo & Sanchez (Strong Backline)
B) Kane & Payet (Strong Backline)
C) Kane & Sanchez (Average Backline)B quite easily
Wildcarding?
Yes Sir, I'm serial early wildcarder lol
I would do something different and get Costa in for Lukaku.
Worried about Costa's lack of baps & card magnetism but he'd be a hell of a differential.
B for sure
Thanks lads, B seems to be the popular choice.

Lets imagine If nobody gets injured till the end of the season and the season is starting right now, how exactly would look the Overall Dream Team in the end?
Mine would be:
Courtois/Cech (GK is hard to be chosen)
Bellerin Alderweireld Kolarov
Mahrez Ozil Payet KDB
Lukaku Kane Aguero
Top scorer: OzilButland/Cech
Toby A | Koscielny | Monreal
Özil | Payet | Mahrez | Sanchez
Aguero | Kane | Lukaku
Top Scorer: Aguero (as you said if nobody gets injured)You have 5 Arsenal players 🙂 Illegal but I like it lol
Dream teams don't have to be legal
Check yer K&N, an offer beyond your wildest dreams awaits you....
? I dont see anything
Great picks!
Butland Gomes
Aldy Smalling Koscielny
Mahrez Ozil KDB Sanchez
Lukaku Ighalo KunLooks like Watford is gonna play european football next year 😀 Great advertisement for how strong is the EPL actually 🙂
I'm 1.5 away from that
With
Rudd, Oxford, Targett and StanislasWow, your TV has to be huge!
No, it's just Ighalo is small
Looks good for the season up until now, I don't see any real punt on a player coming through in the 2nd half of the season, Aguero doesn't really count.
Punts of sorts
Coleman, Walker, Clyne, Ivan, Daniels
Eriksen, Ritchie,Yaya, Shaqiri, Fab, Siggy Antonio, Mata.
Iturbe, Deeney, Berahino, Costa(!) Remy. Bojan
One of those would be a bit braver. 🙂
In fact, name the punts for the 2nd half of the season would be more interesting,All look good in terms of punts although Yaya and Deeney are both 5th in their position so I'd rule them out
I imagine(and hope) Iturbe will be a midfielder
Add
Azpi Fuchs Williams
Willian Henderson
Ayew Austin Studge Rooney Martial and LongThe point is that it would be a bit more interesting trying to name the 2nd half of the season scorers rather than naming the top of the FPL scores list for the first 20 games - not much skill in that!.
Of the names you listed I have 2 at present and of the longer list that I named only 1, how about you?Wow, not one put of either
Boring Ayew Serious chasing points
Well, there is transfer window so anyone who aclimatize soon enough can break the template. New names could outscore the "big guns" so far if everyone starts from 0 on Jan 31th (or when exactly transfer window is closing) so it is hard to predict the best punt yet. Although there is still good punts like Willian, Costa, Ayew, Sturridge(if fit), Martial(if play under another manager only), Alli, Iturbe, Bojan, Adrian, Yaya, Kompany(if fit), Mane( at United for example), Wijnaldum, Antonio, Berahino (as you said), Ivanovic too.. they are so many and could take hours to count them but yeah - would be interesting to create Overall Dream Team of PUNTS 😀
Cheers, GNU!LvG goes then Martial would come near the top of that list.
I wasn't having a pop, more where is the next Mahrez, Ighalo,Toby.
5 months ago imagine we'd be considering any Chelsea player as a risky punt!
Butland/Cech
Bellerin Alderweireld Smalling
Mahrez Ozil Payet Sanchez
Lukaku Kane Aguero
Top scorer: Wayne Rooney...jk Aguero of course 😀Cr@p! I'm 2.4m short to build this team 😀 The rest should be Ryan Bennet, Oxford, Stanislas and Rudd... If I had Mahrez from the start of the season(like my rival) and Toby much earlier, maybe then I could effort it 😀
man..the difference team value can make..I can currently build the team as you laid it out with 0.4m available..
want a loan? at an exorbitant interest rate of course 🙄Thanks but I'll hold it for now 😀 You are a sneaky guy, don't you? 😀
🙄 😉
This has been repeated before by many others & me, but I'd like to visit this again.
In regards to assessing Man City's poor away form, & using that as a basis for benching their players away in the future or to indicate they'll repeat this pattern again, is a fallacy in my view. This stigma that KDB & in turn Man City being poor away from home argument has lacked crucial context. Yes, they haven't performed up to expectations & have been 'poor' as a result, but I'm not convinced people are looking at a very important side to this flawed argument. Their fixtures away from home so far have been a stark contrast to their homers, facing many renowned defenses & top teams.
- Away: (wba, eve, cry, tot, mun, avl, stk, ars, lei, wat). Scored 10 goals in 10 matches & performing (relatively) predictably according to fixture strength bar the blip in the Villa game. They blanked vs Man U, Villa, Stoke, & Leicester, those are three defenses who were all in-form & tightened up prior to the Citizens visiting. Only conceded 9 goals away from home, & boasting a better defensive record away. They kept 6 CS's in this time vs (wba, eve, cry, mun, avl, lei), again, pretty predictable performances for the most part. Conceding a nasty 4 goals (44% of their total) vs Spurs, 2 goals vs Stoke, 2 vs Arsenal, & once vs Watford (OG really). Again, they performed accordingly, three attacks who were in-form, or gaining form in Stoke's case, scoring 8 goals in their next 5 matches.
- Home: (CHE, WAT, WHU, NEW, BOU, NOR, LIV, SOU, SWA, SUN). Whopping total of 29 goals scored here in those 10 matches, averaging nearly three goals per game They've yet to blank & have scored more than two goals in all but two games here vs Hammers & Liverpool. Flat-track bullies indeed. They've conceded 11 goals, interestingly only 2 of their 8 total CS's have come from home, (vs WAT & CHE) both coming courtesy of Man City's early defensive prowess in the first 5 GW's. Like the Spurs game away, it's not often Man City concede more than once (or twice for that matter), but they conceded a huge 4 goals vs Liverpool (roughly 36% of their total).
- Remaining Home: (EVE, CRY, LEI, TOT, AVL, MUN, WBA, STK, ARS). Very tough home schedule here, after these next two & bar Villa, they face a barrage of tough away defenses & notorious parked buses (lookin' at you Pulis). Looks highly probable we'll be turning towards Man City's remaining away fixtures as a more predictable & reliable source of points, IMO.
- Remaining away: (whu, sun, new, liv, nor, bou, che, sou, swa). So with the context in play & with a highly alleviated, kinder away schedule. Surely now there's a justified reason to be optimistic that their form will coincide with better fixtures? To me, it seems very likely that with the fixtures flipping can only lead to this away stigma being battered very soon & for the better.Their attack has also been a revolving door when it comes to injuries to the same players which probably makes chemistry-building very start-stop.
That too, Silva, Sterling, KdB & Agüero only recently have started to share game time together (3-4 GW's ago), hope they continue building on the cheeky Watford win. What a menacing attack!
Hopefully because I cannot have 23.5 blanking every second week
well at least they have 2 home games in a row 😉
KDB or Kun captain....hnmmm
the man with the penalties 😉
In short, you may be better off benching KDB at home. 🙂
*never bench KDBeast
*gasps*
Well now, this escalated quickly 😉😀
Good post
Thanks, TL.
Alli (c) , no shifting!
Go Spurs!Differential (c) eh
Sticking true to my name!
Might join you.
you're a brave soul! I benched him last week lol
He basically saved my GW, so this is some sort of reward for it i guess! 🙂
haha nice one, I played Arnie over him and got burnt...just my luck really
any advice guys
lukaku or kane to kun for free
igahlo to kun for -4
or hold for now,, cheersI'm holding and seeing how it pans out after cup games. An injury could force your hand.
am holding to, but barring injuries, can even do igahlo to costa free
but fancy luk kane and kun, ali in for ramsey to do it, cheers
No one concerned by bellerin next few fixtures?
Dont see many csAtleast 3 in the next 6
Was going to do belerin to creswell
DF choices this week is only beautiful 🙁 . Which two get benched?
A) Kosceilny (Liv away)
B) Moreno (Ars home)
C) Kolarov (Eve home)
D) EVans (Che away)
E) Janmaat (MU home)Moreno, KOlarov
DE
d e
I would bench D&E. Go with ABC 🙂
Thanks guys, will go with the majority.
Lukaku out for Costa worth a hit?
Not really.
No way
Not for me
Aubameyang
I know it's all just speculation and typical transfer window story. Mostly based on words the Dortmund CEO said and he apparently missed the first training session back from the winters break for 'personal reasons'
Not seen much , how would he do in the premier league for Arsenal or United (who are the ones being linked)He seems to have the pace and physical attributes to succeed in the PL. Can't see him leaving though.
United, I don't think suits him
Arsenal, fantastic fit, would play like Walcott only finish his chances, also can play wide so Giroud and him can be in the same teamAgreed. Arsenal are easily the best fit.
And Liverpool(I'll keep dreaming)
Could be the new Henry with Arsenal
Can't see much of a future with United. He'd be a great fit at United if LVG isn't here.
Two blanks in a row for Arnie...don't do this us owners who recently bought you. Please.
He'll score when you bench or sell him. 😉
He's gone up 0.4m already. 0.2m profit could come in pretty handy, I might decide to get rid 😛
Which transfers seem better?
1.Moreno walcott mane to creswel antonio siggy
Or
2.Moreno walcott vardy to creswel payet ighaloA
2
2
2
2
Which Spaniard full back would you bench when they face each other:
Moreno or Monreal?Moreno
Moreno
Alberto
Azpi
Vardy>Ighalo
Walcott>Payet
2FT leaves me with a slight benching headache though... Alli was originally brought in as 5th mid but he's looking too good for that nowBench one :
A: Mahrez (tot)
B: Lukaku (mnc)
C: Payet (bou)
D: Ozil (liv)
E: Alli (LEI)
Currently on Mahrez, preferred benching order is alphabeticalPayet
Is Kompany fit yet?
If so Lukaku
If not AlliC
I'd bench Payet, don't think it's a good idea to bench Mahrez.
c even though you probably just trans him in !
Thanks all 🙂
Anyone else going antonio over payet?
Play Butland or Hennesey?
Get out
butland for home fixture
I have both. Leaning towards Hennessy.
Butland surely
Cant decide whether to bench vardy and play against villa or sell him for aguero or ighalo
If you are thinking of benching a striker then you have the wrong strikers!
Vardy > Aguero ofc 😉

Toby owners, after what transpired last week (I think most of us left him on our bench) are you gonna start him every GW now? I think I am, unless he has a really tricky fixture like MCI(A) or something and my other 3 defenders have much better fixtures. Just glad I own him at least 🙂
I'm benching him this week
I've started him every week since I got him GW16 and that's given me 22 points. Quite a decent average so far at 4.4 ppg and they have SUN, cpl, nor in their next 4. I doubt I'll ever bench him again as long as I own him.
Nice going...yeah I don't think I'll bench him again if I can help it, 8 points on the bench this week really hurt and to make matters worse I played Dann over him who got a big fat zero 🙁 lol
I'm gonna play him every week indeed. He is a baps monster when keeps CS or concede but assist. And he is one of the best on set pieces in the whole division
yup good plan, I'm probably doing the same now. He sure loves his baps, got all 3 last week! Totally didn't expect that
yeah me 2 - that's why I played Shawcross instead of him :@
I played Wolls & Dann over him...burnt myself twice there 🙄
I'll still bench him at the Etihad in week 26
yeah might have to bench him for that one as Kompany would be back by then I think. I'll start him every other GW tho don't wanna get burnt like that again 🙁
Kompany being back wouldn't affect him as much as Kane but definitely less chances for him to score from set pieces, and I'm pretty sure City will score in that game so yea probably good idea to bench him for that one I agree
Morning all.
Looks like most people are going to have similar benching dilemma this GW.343 no rotation FTW!
Yeah that should be the way!
But then Alli will score again and again...you can use him as a 4th mid then and bench someone like Barry or Stanislas. Investments in attacking trio like Kun/Costa Kane Lukaku is murdering
I'm very confident Payet will outscore him with ease.
Risers: Alderweireld, Ighalo
Fallers: Iheanacho, McCarthy (CRY), Montero
Wednesday 06/01/2016, 01:12:29 AM3.8m GK alert!
Not playing though Balders.
he doesn't have to though
I don't have non players in my team............. Well not by design.
I'm generally of the opinion you can carry two, that said with cash in abundance this year there's no real need to scrimp, yet.
You haven't played your bench boost yet Balders, you'll need to bring in players to optimise that - will be that for the boost only?
On BB I'm definitely aiming for 15 playing players but depending how/when I need to use my WC I wouldn't be beyond it.
But the joys of who to bench from Alli, Mahrez, Kane or Lukaku, not miss that? 🙂
Not at all, I've scored 91 points from 24 players the last two weeks and benched 40 points from 8 players. Benches can hop it.
40 points,ouch!
Yay, own both the risers
Iheanacho is an interesting one, Bony is already injured and Aguero is always one step awayI have him!!!
..and have had him since I bought him at 4.0m 😥
No Coutinho?

I don't believe youuu 🙁
True story. Already cashed out on Kolarov and Vardy too. And never owned KDB or Toby.
what's your ID?
Im still 106.9
Damn u McCartthy!!! Should have WC -ed 🙁
Any value in playing 5 at the back after the FA Cup games a few days before?
None more so than usual.
If they all keep cleansheets.
Hopefully that's the last time Palace's McCarthy falls in price...already down to 3.8m from my purchase price of 4m lol
Reece Oxford says Hi. 😀
lol hush!
defenders should move more often than keepers thankfully (I hope)Yeah you'll probably be fine now.
I can't see him dropping again to 3.7, highly unlikely imo
