New Year, new aspirations, same old voices.

The first ScoutCast of 2016 is brimming with determined talk of banishing old habits which, in all honesty, will likely evaporate in the weeks to come. That’s particularly true of my no-Aguero policy, which feels even more flimsy after taking in the musings of Jonty and Andy in this episode.

Man City’s hitman and faltering away form comes under the microscope via another batch of community questions, along with an assessment of Dele Alli, Kane without Dembele and the allure of the French fancy that is Dimitri Payet.

We rinse through that little lot, before looking ahead to the floodlit excitement that awaits us in Gameweek 21.

This episode was first aired live on our YouTube channel on Wednesday evening.

You can view the ScoutCast in full via the larger player below (with a minor edit due to a technical hitch mid-cast).

Those who prefer the distilled audio version can treat their ears via this link or the smaller player below.

Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for updates on new episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    a nothing really story about a journeyman pro, but if i was a really good footballer who wasn't quite going to make it in the big leagues, i think a few years doing this would be a fantastic experience;

in addition to Scotland and India (after his stint in India with Nicolas Anelka-managed Mumbai City), the ex-Celtic defender has also played in Canada (Toronto FC), England (Blackpool) and Ukraine (Metalurh Donetsk).

Seems like he's still got that Villa mindset of trying to be a big fish in a small pond, dropping deep to try and make things happen and not occupying the centre-backs or making runs into the box. Needs to learn that there are players that can do that for him.

Time is on her side, she's still very young and one of the top Straw weight contenders. In all honesty, the loss against Thug Rose may prove to be a good thing for VanZant, as it would've way too early for a shot at Jedrzejczyk.

Wouldn't go as far as to say a huge gap... kane and rom both appear to have it all. if anything kane is better because he's doing it at a younger age than rom was

Rom might have the records at younger age, but in terms of skill gap right now, I don't think its that big.

Yes they are... but wind it back 12 months. Kane last year was phenomenal. Lukaku, was nowhere last season... Kane is just about to truly get going I feel.

Kaku has scored 17 goals, 15, 10, 15 and counting. Very special for his age

Kane has scored 3, 21, 11 and counting

You can't count it against Kane that he started later than Lukaku...

Kane does much more for the team than Lukaku, I wouldn't be surprised if he scores less goals because Kane drops into midfield to build attacks, and even helps in defense.

If Kane stayed as a 9 I have no doubt he would score more than Lukaku. It helps that he's in the better team.

        It's razor close in fairness...

Would say Kane is still a more polished finisher, and the more intelligent player of the two, certainly with his movement. But Lukaku, ofcourse, has the advantage in pace and power.

Without a doubt. And I should've added that I would pick Lukaku over Kane too, right now anyway.

agree with Ruber here... Jarvish.. you can't dismiss it as 2 would pick Kane... a lot of managers require the all round effort Kane puts in. Lukaku is a better out and out number 9 but the game has transformed from 10 years ago

Kane has only been in the league for just over a season if you consider he didn't start until like GW10 last year

In reality, Kane has done more in that time than Lukaku did when he first came onto the scene so its tough to judge them

As of right now, yes Lukaku is more polished than Kane

Kane is a better player.. no visible weakness in his game.. better passer better touch better vision which is why he can play as a number 10 aswell as a 9

KDB wasn't keen on being rotated and work to keep his place. That was the disagreement with Mou, who felt everybody has to earn their spot in the starting 11.

I am eyeing up Luk -> Aguero (1 of 2 FT)

Luk fixtures turn and he is a doubt
    Aguero playing full games.

Is it worth doing before Aguero rises or wait for the weekend games to pass?

I'd recommend you not to do the move. But if you're set on it, wait for the games to pass.

I'm not set on it. why not though? Luk will end up being fit to play and carry on his goal a game rate?

Well he's on form. Form > Fixtures. Main source of Everton's goals. Don't see his run stopping yet.

Definately wait unless you have exact cash and are determined to make the move.

Lukaku has two 'poor' fixtures then they're great again. Seems short sighted but I'm all for getting Aguero, just do it another way.

Kaku is a season keeper, will finish highest league scorer this season.

Sunderland were injuries problem at the back so they signed Kirchoff. He's one of the most injury prone players I have come across, lol.

Would you transfer in Aguero, if you didn't have him right now? Asking because you're a city fan so would like your opinion. Thanks 🙂 It would be for a FT

Depends on who it's for. I wouldn't be ditching Lukaku or Kane just yet - Agüero is probably going to be on the bench with Ihenacho starting on the weekend. He should play the full 90 against Everton, we have 2 home games in a row and we've scored 29 goals at home compared to our 10 away.

For Vardy. Definitely keeping Kane and Lukaku. Cheers 🙂 Will go ahead with it I reckon after the cup games.

Good move then and goodluck, I think I'm going to bring in KDB and captain him if he does not play on the weekend.

Comolli wanted to bring Aubameyang to Pool for less than 10m. We could have got him last season instead of Benteke, however Brodge had other ideas.
