Just minutes after the final whistle blew on Gameweek 21, Jonty, Andy and myself braved the airwaves to pick the bones out of our meagre midweek tallies.

Brought back down to earth by a decidedly lacklustre floodlit affair, we rouse ourselves to debate the Aguero armband, the rapidly increasing speed of the Payet bandwagon and the theories behind the stuttering United backline.

We even make our dedication to the departed David Bowie, before quickly ushering out our disappointment of the Gameweek just past by previewing the one that lies ahead.

    Think I may do Barkley -> YYT and bench Lukaku this week.
    Fatigue and fixture are the main reasons. What you all think?

          Yeah, cheers for being such a fantastic captain! Really had fun.

          And if WBA can score 2 away at Chelsea, surely Everton can... Lukaku is the focal point of the team, if they score it's almost certain that he will be involved. Also on pens. Yaya sits deep and isn't as likely to be involved. Would play a striker over a mid in general also.

        Yep, it seems you said the same on the page before.
        With Chelsea on the up and Lukaku not performing as well away, I don't see why not. What are your reasons Poch?

          Newcastle game aside I don't see any proof for the idea that he hasn't been playing well away. Man City game doesn't count imo as it was very clear from watching it that Martinez set them up to absorb City's attack. They showed them a lot of respect. I don't think he will go the same way as Chelsea's attack is no where near as prolific as City's. Lukaku is also Everton's main source of goals so if they are in the goals (which against a leaky Chelsea defence I believe they will) there is every chance he will be involved. He also has a little point to prove at Stamford Bridge 🙂

            Very true about the point he has to prove at Stamford Bridge. 🙂 I know you are not a member to see statistical evidence, but even from watching them, it looks as if Chelsea are looking tighter at the back in the last 3-4 games, despite the two goals they shipped vs West Brom.
            Playing devil's advocate here re: Lukaku, but it seems that big Rom doesn't score much against top teams (MCI, tot, CHE, LIV, MUN, ars, TOT, mci - 1G 1A)

      I'm doing the same - playing Yaya & benching Lukaku.
      Ifyou're going with a strong front 8 then you really have to pick your least likely scorer & Lukaku is behind Yaya, Mahrez ... imo.

          The way Yaya bulldozed through that Everton defence to get a shot away, as well as, the free, point-blank header he missed tells me he has the potential to go berserk vs Palace.

      Don't know the answer, however I do fly quite a bit and it's always always better safer than sorry. You just don't know who you'll get at customs. Take the safest option in my book.
