Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Pretty bad week because of the defenders 🙁

    A) Is Firmino more essential than Payet now?
    B) Is Trippier the first choice over Walker now?

Can't afford to bring him in without taking a hit so no choice but to leave alone. Fixtures aren't too great so I'm not too worried. SOU home is OK but they've improved recently. bou away won't be easy with how they've been playing. Then it's Leicester, United and Spurs with only Swansea at home in between a very tasty fixture.

    GKP: Butland, Rudd
Def: Fuchs, Ward, Daniels, Bellerin, Toby
Mid: Mahrez, Ozil, KDB, Alli, Payet
    FWD: Kane, Lukaku, Ighalo

    Have 7.0ITB and 1FT

    A) Ward -> Targett, Ighalo Aguero and take -4 hit
    or
    B) Mahrez -> cheap decent fifth midfielder, Ighalo -> Aguero and take -4 hit

Feel like it was a mistake getting rid of ighalo for lukaku and should have swapped Kane out instead. Will be good to have next week but soon after I might think about Kane back to Iggy. Would this be silly? Another option is Kane to Austin , which would be very fun and differential but will he be worth it over Iggy? Exciting times anyway as although the template is still performing new players have emerged, this season has just gotten a whole lot more interesting the last few weeks. Thank good for kun !

With 15 games left - I firmly believe Leicester can win the league.

It's more of a case of other teams being so bad, but I still can't believe all this.

      • 10 Years
      10 years, 14 days ago

It's incredible, truly remarkable hasn't even sunk in properly yet. They are easily the most consistent team in the league and that's all they got to keep up. The fact that they turned into a very sound defensive unit out of nowhere is the true indicator of how far they can go.

It is dreamtime for Leicester fans. Mahrez slightly off the boil and Vardy in a low spot, and they pull off a 3-0 win against Stoke. It's results like that that will see them up there at the end of the season. It'll be hard to stay focused with the attention they will get, but best of luck to them!

I'll be waiting to see how many minutes he plays and the form he brings back from injury before I can comment on that. Out of the above players opponents the Saints are the tougher defensive side.

Arsenal aren't great at the back either without Coquelin in defensive mid. 4-0 thrashing to Southampton. Conceding 3 against Liverpool. They've been lucky that:

          A) they've had easy fixtures in December (plus Newcastle early in January)
          B) They have a world class GK in cech

Had they faced some sterner opposition then they would really have struggled over the Christmas period.

What are people's thoughts on Borthwick Jackson as a cheap defender with United's defensive injuries increasing by the game

Not sure if United are a good source of clean sheets with all these injuries. Frustrated De Gea owner here.

So KdB went into overdrive the last 8 minutes of the match apparently, all three of his chances created came in that time frame. Only one shot, none on target btw.

Then you have Alli doing what he just did for 5.6m. Other than the the enticing possibility of a DGW soon, in which that would warrant a case or keeping imo, I really can't justify his price tag right now.

Guess I'll wait until after the Sunderland match as their woeful defending has been consistent all though out. After that though, it's slim pickings. Would the DGW still lure you?

      If DGW:

      Wouldn't buy, wouldn't sell.

he needs to gtfo out of your team.

But he isn't an occasional - just someone with an original sense of humour.

    Bellerin, Alderweireld, Cathcart, Francis, Simpson
Mahrez, De Bruyne, Ozil, Payet, Alli

This is a week where early transfers are a big no no, so for the sake of chat, if LIV and MCY win their semis and there are GW25 DGWs for LIV, EVE, MCY & NEW, which DGWers will you be bringing in?

I currently have Moreno, KDB, Aguero & Lukaku, and only Firmino really stands out. Possibly Joe Hart as well.

Elliot Silva Mirallas and Firmino are my on potential in list, if it happens of course.
