Having assessed the defensive data over the last four rounds of fixtures earlier in the week, we now turn our attentions to the centre of the park. We analyse a host of playmakers from Everton, Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham and City before casting an eye over the recent new arrivals at Sunderland and Newcastle, as the Wear-Tyne duo step up their battle to beat the drop.

Taking their time to rearrange the fixtures aren't they...

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/395031/UEFA-make-FA-pay-penalty-for-fixture-clashes
I thought FA Cup replays could clash with Champions League games (and Premier League games couldn't) until I saw this article.
Does this mean that there's no space in the calendar for 5th round replays before the FA Cup QFs, so they'd either cause Premier League blanks or play the replays on QF weekend?
Here's my spreadsheet showing the schedule for all the competitions: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zcb5jGdVitByKQ8R1X4gcEBpiNY9qbLylr72btlTubc/edit#gid=629680924-
Where you browsing The Express for a Princess Diana conspiracy story?
-
nope 😛 just googled "uefa fine premier league same night champions league"
-
-
let's not imagine that... so many troubles (i think they move the pl fixtures to afford the replays)

Do Sturridge look like scoring at all?

No
-
No, they don't.
-
Missed a big chance now.

I see now van gaal is blaming Murphy for United's problems.when in doubt blame the Irish.
-
Adjusting to England nicely then I guess...
-
Complete gimp.
-
Whats Robocop done now?
-
He reckons it's the Law of Murphy that De gea got hurt just before kick off.Funny stuff.Joe.ie
-
-
He is doing a great job leave the guy alone and let him get on with it
-
Guinness is much nicer
-
-
I'm starting to find Michael Owen less annoying
-
I'm feeling the opposite
-
Second that.
-
Hes enthusiastic and clearly enjoys what he does, I have no problem with that
-
-
He must have stopped talking then 😉
-
🙂
-
-
He is worse than Robbie Savage and I thought that was impossible
-
No Savage is a right tool, such a pillock
-
Agreed but Owen is more annoying when it comes to commentating

Fields on the PGA tour are starting to improve in quality now as we build up to the Masters, can't wait.
Part of the life plan is to go watch it at some point, any ideas how you go about getting tickets, is it like Wimbledon?-
You can apply for them but they are very difficult to get but if you do get them unlike Wimbledon when you get in everything is as cheap as chips
-
Hmmm had a feeling they would be difficult to get. Perhaps graduate uni and get a good job should be first on the life plan.
-
My old near by neighbour will be there
-
-
-
I LOVE the Masters
Deffo gonna take it on one day. Easier to get in than Wimbledon-
Wimbledon isn't that difficult to get into?
-
It is if you want to see anything decent
-
Not at all, you just have to make the effort to camp overnight, which is a great laugh anyway
-
Yeah I'm not doing that 🙂
-
Why not? All part of the fun
-
-
-
-
-
Half of my family live in Savannah and go every year, I should tap them up for tickets and accommodation 🙂
-
Could be an FF scout offsite 🙂
-
Too good an opportunity to turn down!
-
I've always thought that golf must be much better on TV than being there
-
I would say I agree for most golf tournaments but Augusta has to be the most beautiful sporting venue there is.
-
It is as you see very little at the course. We usually end up in the beer tent watching it on a big screen when we go
-
I've been to Volvo master and really enjoyed it. I think the best experience you get following a certain group. Sitting still besides a green and watching from there gets boring.
-
-
-
Do they live on a river boat?
-
-
It is easily my favourite annual sporting event
-
That's a big shout
More than:
The World Cup
The euros
The Ashes
The Open-
Only one annual event in that lot
-
*annual 😉
-
it's a good one though.
Always the same venue/same weekend of the year so very easy to get ready for it etc. Plus it lasts four days which is enough to be interesting to watch but doesn't drag on for months causing arguments about watching the tv with the wife. -
Amazingly if you ever get the chance to go to Badminton it's a really good day out.
Loads of boozing and socialising stuff. I never saw a single horse whilst I was there...not that I remember anyway.
-
-
-
-
feel the same. Will go one year, just need to convince the missus she would enjoy it somehow..
-
-
Sturridge off Origi on
-
Awesome stuff...
-
-
For how long Studge needs to stay inj. free until you would consider him as a fpl option?
-
Considering him already
-
3 Years.
-
LoL 😀
for you apparently in same category than Aguero-
No he's worse. He can't be relied upon and absolutely will limp off again and soon.
I don't know why Liverpool persist with him.
-
-
-
Think he's fine enough to be considered, but still plays around 60,70 minutes, and has tricky fixtures coming. He's tempting for double gameweek anyway.
-
Pool have dgw?
-
Game against Everton postponed because of C1C final?
-
True. Forgot it
-
-
-
-
Essential after cup games.

LVG out
Gary Neville in -
Arsenal versus an injury ravaged defence
Yum Yum 🙂 🙂-
Sanchez better finally deliver. Sick of Özil outscoring him week after week
-
I've him and Giroud
-
Not sure to keep him or get straight back to Ozil. When I asked about it, all agreed to keep him. Did Ozil to him three weeks ago.
-
I aint, loving it
-
-
-
Moreno yellow card lol @ owners
-
Why lol @owners?
-
He keeps doing that stupid fouls all the time.
-
-
-
Europa League football is sh1t
-
Best chance of CL next season for Liverpool and Man Utd though tbf
-
Thats true but I think Sevilla will win it again
-
-
-
Some pretty damned angry United tweets floating around tonight. Does LVG do twitter?
-
I'm happy with the result
He is doing a great job-
🙂
-
Exactly - he hasn't completed his mission yet
-
-
Really can't see him carrying on now
-
Neither can I. Surely the man has some degree of pride and self esteem hiding under that façade.
It's starting to look like a re run of Steve Keane. -
Who's going to replace him?
Any United fan I know doesn't want Mourhino anywhere near the club-
Same was said about Mourinho leaving Chelsea. They found Hiddink and he has done just fine as a stand in and at short notice.
-
They only won the league 9 months ago - far better squad
-
I wasn't meaning the squad...I meant in terms of getting a replacement, even if short term.
LVG's time is all but over now and the only one who can't see it is him.
-
-
The difference is that Hiddink has been there before and he is only an interim boss until they appoint some one full time. If I was on the united board I would be trying to get a current north London PL manager
-
-
I think Maureen at United will be like car crash television - he would be taking over a squad that's in disarray. When he went back to Chelsea there was still a pretty strong squad in place. Far bigger challenge at United
-
I know it's awesome. Theyve become the club they always hated
-
-
-
-
Part of me wants DDG to be injured.
So it'll force me to ship him out.-
I'd rather use the free elsewhere. Bit peed off now
-
-
origi seems a problem for firmino. even with sturridge fit firmino could have got to feed a great goalscorer for 70ish mins then got to play up front at the end of games where there are often cheap goals to be had. origi seems to be blocking that now
-
Ain't nobobody got time for depressing stuff like this.
-
-
Did ddg get injured tonight?
-
Injured his knee in the warm up
-
Check tweets.
-
-
4 English clubs in Europe this week and not a victory in sight
Poor-
Tottenham had great result and they played with combined team.
-
-
So. Firmino a bit crap, then? 😀
-
Not a false 9 anymore and that's it.
-
-
I wish Owen would start pronouncing Firmino correctly and not Firminho
-
I wish Owen wouldn't start
-
Hahaaa
-
-
-
0-0 FT Pool
-
Rematch on Thursday and C1C final on Sunday.
-
-
De Gea should be back for Arsenal game ye? I've no second GK?
-
Wait for news.
-
Getting scans on knee to assess the extent of the injury seemly. Hope he will, could really use that transfer somewhere else!
-
Ye suppose just wait and see, I'd say he will be ok tough 10 days till next game.
-
-
-
Valencia 6-0
Nice birthday present for Gary Neville-
hope it kick starts their season. Really want him to succeed.
-
I'd like him back at sky doing MNF really enjoyed that with him and Carragher
-
This. Hopefully getting the monkey off his back will mean they can start to move onwards and upwards
-
-
#NEVILLEIN
-
-
To be fair to Firmino owners, he has been the only player for whom being OoP has actually helped his FPL prospects. Well done to those that got him while he was playing false 9
-
Still fancy him vs City, seems to play well against the big boys. He could even be reinstated as a false 9, who knows
-
I think City will be cautious this time, and they have cup game with Liverpool just a few days before that game.
-
-
I would like to add that Coutinho at #10 would be more efficient, but Klopp sees Firmino as SS/ST
-
Agreed his time has been and gone for FPL
-
When did he stop playing as a false 9? Why?
-
-
Jenas has made it to the highlights unscathed! 😯
-
Hi....if Ddg is out for any period of time, who is the best replacement?
Have I missed the boat now for Forster?
Or do I go schmeichal?
Thanks-
Sorry chaps for top message...
-
Forster is a good option, who's your other keeper??
-
Other keeper is McCarthy!
-
-
Butland in terms of fixtures IMO.
-
nowt wrong with being top
-
Forster and Schmeichel are both good options.
-
Forster, Butland, Schmeichel and Cech all seems good options atm.
The first 3 all have decent fixtures and a game in GW 30. Depends on if you believe Stoke will get back to being defensively sound (ShawX coming back soon), if Soton can keep it up (fixtures turning a bit hard after the next 4), Schmeichel really good fixtures, rested team and really something to play for.
Lastly Cech the expensive option with nice fixtures for the remainder of season. With only
One playing keeper he might be a good choice -
buttybutt
-
Lloris
-
Forster or butland imo
-
