We take our usual post-Gameweek delve into the members data this evening. Chelsea and West Ham’s playmakers are under assessment, as are Spurs and City’s main men up front, whilst we also cast an eye over Bournemouth’s fit-again flier and Norwich’s improving wide man as the Canaries attempt to salvage their top-flight berth for another season.

Wanna get Ighalo out. Got 7.9M to spend. Got Aguero-Vardy. Any ideas? Probably just a punt for a week.

Out of this team, who would you sell this week to field 11 and prepare best for the upcoming weeks?

    Butland - Hennessey
    Ivanovic - Kompany - Daniels - Simpson - Targett
    Ozil - Mahrez - Willian - Siggy - Alli
    Kane - Vardy - Aguero

    1.2 itb

I am currently thinking about these options:
    A) Targett -> Williams
    B) Targett -> Sagna
    C) Willian -> YYT

    Any better ideas?

B might set you up for the long term most effectively, but can could really pay off in the short run.

depends on your wc strategy. is your wc still available? if yes, I would roll and make 2 changes next week to get in dgw34 players and then wc gw 36. this could change depending on what fixtures are announced soon.

I think all 4 of 5 defenders in with a good shout for a CS. Pretty good considering the blanks.

Your front 6 is pretty template. Your only worry is Silva going off. I would not take a hit. Roll the ft.

    repost -

I have DDG and Henns this week, both blank. thinking of Forster. What do you think of Saints form/fixtures? I will have to use the same GK for the next 4 or 5 weeks. Is there any benefit to waiting, any more info coming in before the start of gw30?

    Azpi, Walker, Kompany, Bellerin, Fuchs,
    Mahrez, Payet, Siggy, Arnie, Alli
    Kun, Kane, Vardy

    Thanks

you have few choices really...all with drawbacks.

      A) Hart: good fixture possible immediate pay off and a DGW but restricts a city mid coming in

      B) Forster: 3 tough fixtures, missing fonte at the back (for 2 gws?) no DGW

      C) Butland: 3 Decent fixtures, no dgw

      Think I'd go Butland

gw35 blank plus with bench boost, teams might be uneven after the dgw. rather have fewer games after using bench boost. this could all change depending on which fixtures are in which gw.

Depending on who makes the cup semi's, it may have some tasty match ups for CHE, ARS, EVE, even Palace. Plus, means you only have 1 week (and 2 FT) left.

Plus, if you've planned properly, you can get 11 DGW in 34 and a GW35 team with no hits. WC in 33 may leave you struggling to field a side in 35

  8. Swan - Villa Proud

SO, here's the GW34 team I can get without a hit or WC. Could also get DDG for -4, which may be worth it with their fixtures. Can sort out a GW35 team with 2 FT, WC in 36, BB in 37.

    Elliot
    Kompany, Bellerin, Dann
    Ozil, SIlva, Payet, Firmino
    Kun, Lukaku, Deeney/Ighalo/Martial

    Butland, Ali, Williams, Simpson

Is this team good enough, or will it be too weak, so better to WC in 33?

    1. Gizzachance

Of course need to wait for fixtures, just making some assumptions for now based on worse case scenario (EVE, CHE, ARS, MUN, WHU all blank in 35). And if WAT get the GW35 blank, that means ARS won't and vice versa.

    Butland

Alli - Eriksen - Yaya - Mahrez (Siggy)

    Kane(VC) - Vardy - Aguero (C)

    1 FT 3.9 ITB

    A) Ward & Moreno -> Kompany & Huth

    Any help here, DZ?

    Butland
Alderweireld - Fuchs - Daniels - Williams (Koscielny)
Eriksen - Mahrez (Ozil, Payet, Antonio)
    Aguero (C) - Kane (V) - Vardy

As you can see, I'm a man short this week. But that's no problemo as I'm using one of my 2FTs to replace a non-player with a Man City representative.

Question is: Would you rather bring in Otamendi/Kompany for Koscielny, field a 5-2-3 this week and keep Payet for DGW34 or would you bring in Yaya for Payet, field a 4-3-3 this week and keep Koscielny for DGW34? Keep in mind that I've got no wildcard left, and that if I ditch Koscielny this week, I will bring in Bellerin for Alderweireld ahead of the DGW anyways.

    A: Ota/Komp + 5-2-3 + Payet kept
    B: Yaya + 4-3-3 + Koscielny kept

        A weeks rest. Norwich.

If he had converted the pen he would've scored a hattrick and their would be no doubt in anyone's mind really. Hes the safe play I can make ground without being too clever is my thinking.

            Tuesday is a quick turnaround.

Although it's a home tie vs Kiev and they have advantage.

The focus has to be on beating Norwich and hard to see Aguero not being involved if they do.

I like how advanced he gets beyond Kane and maybe it's Alli who will get the bigger haul who knows.

I do not know when I'll be WC + TC/BB yet so I'll be tempted to keep Barkley & Payet for their 2 x DGW to come. Is Sanchez the correct mover for this week to field 11 players. If so for who:

    Butland Hennessy*
    Toby Fuchs Williams Daniels Cresswell*
    Marhez Alli Sanchez* Paye*t Barkley*
    Kane Vardy Aguero

    Thanks

Best sub 5m defender to bring in next week that has a double in 34 and a game in 35? I'm thinking Ake or Moreno, or possibly PVA if Arsenal lose Saturday. Any other decent picks?

Moreno big rotation risk as of now. Liverpool defence really unsettled atm. Skrtel just returning and Flanagan has started to get minutes again. Although I'm keeping an eye of them, as not only do they have a DGW34 and a game in 35, they also have a DGW37.

Looking at PVA should Arsenal lose myself. Perfect replacement for Daniels next week when BOU fixtures turn sour for the rest of the season.

      1. Jay_
        10 years, 4 months ago

Yh in a strange twist it would actually be handy now if Arsenal were to lose Saturday. Well PVA wise anyway and maybe Khazri. Shame there's no real cheap Everton defenders. Funes could be worth a watch

Would also be handy because we could then not only hold onto our Arsenal assets even after the DGW, but also play them in GW35. That would make planning a hell of a lot easier.

Yeah, if only Oviedo was classified as a defender...

As we're in the DZ and not many non members around. I spotted a few bits of ink spilt on Shaqiri being told to get forward more a month or so ago,,,so i took the punt. He's not shown up on any ICT threat tables but he's now managed to join the likes of Eriksen, Willian, Silva, Payet and co for ICT creativity.

I'm not suggesting anybody buys him at the moment but nice to see him finally up where he belongs.

            I disagree.

Players score vs certain teams better.

Takes me back to me bringing Lampard in when he scored two goals to equal and break Bobby Tamblings record. Lampard has scored more goals versus Villa than any other PL side and that's why I did it.

            Rooney vs Newcastle too.

I trust him to be more consistent.

Yaya hasn't looked like repeating his lucky 20 goal season in a while. Both top options though imo.

Just had a quick look at ppg. Yaya has higher ppg, and he is backed by the scouts. I'm likely wrong on this 🙂

          • 13 Years
          10 years, 4 months ago

I think both could get themselves among the points. Might go Yaya to save a little bit of coin for the next couple of weeks. Or, the other option is Siggy.

          1. Piggs Boson
            • 14 Years
            10 years, 4 months ago

It really is luck of the draw with those two. Goals are obviously superior to assists, but you never know when Yaya is hoping to pop up on the edge of the area and slot one in. Silva get's in the penalty area far more, but doesn't shoot as much...

    2. Dr Dream
      • 13 Years
      10 years, 4 months ago

Both good. I think Yaya is coming to the fag end of his career in terms of fitness at the highest level so may be rested a bit...on the other hand Silva is nursing an injury so may be equally prone to a rest. 50/50.

      1. theBoose
        • 13 Years

not much to separate them tbh Silva more consistent and Yaya more explosive... is Silva worth 1.4 more? Not at all and that's the clincher for me

For certain. Of all the regular posters i probably have had Silva in my team more than anybody else in the past two years..i just think he's a class act. That's not the same as saying he's a better pick than Yaya though for FPL though.

Kane to Costa in GW32 for example. But maybe I should hold Jags as he'll have a couple of dgws in the future
