Dugout Discussion – Portugal vs Austria

Saturday’s events end with a collision between two sides scrapping for a Euro 16 foothold.

Austria arrived in France with a laudable record in qualifying and were considered a darkhorse. But Marcel Koller’s men were found wanting in their opening fixture, frustrated and eventually overwhelmed by the Hungarians.

That 2-0 defeat means that tonight’s meeting with Portugal is now more vital than ever.

Fernando Santos’ side are also in dire need of the victory.

They were unable to overcome an Icelandic barrier to earn victory in their opening group encounter and now found themselves on the back foot. Defeat to Austria would swing the group wide open, leading to a dramatic final round of matches later this week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      I think people are overestimating the amount of potential rotation.

          It's a no brainer. Milik is a good, solid pick. Vardy and Studge are risks, who knows if both will start, if they do, what's the chance of a full 90?
          With Milik, you have no worries.

    I could win 2500 from £10

    but it relies on Portugal and austria coming first and second

    which means austria have to score at least 2/3 when they haven't scored yet as hungary have good goal difference

    🙁 Should of done Spain and croatia, but i was confident with Port and aus
