Up next in our series of members articles, which assess the statistics behind the 2015/16 season, is Watford.

We start off by looking at the Hornets’ team data in Quique Sanchez Flores’ solitary campaign at the helm and compare them to the rest of Premier League. After that, we analyse their first-team squad, main goal threats and creative sources in an attempt to gain insight on their prospects for the season ahead.

Tipped for the drop by many last time out, the Hornets were quick out the traps and racked up eight wins and five draws in the first 18 Gameweeks. Although Flores’ side failed to maintain momentum over the rest of the season and managed just four victories and as many draws in the final 20 matches, they were never in danger of relegation and ended in thirteenth spot, eight points clear of the bottom three.

    Hi All,

I am sure that a rotations article will confirm the same, but a rotation of Bournemouth, Burnley and Swansea looks very tempting to me. If you are looking for something which has the potential to set and forget, it offers this fixture chain until GW19:

    bur / HUL / cpl / HUL / sot / WAT / wat / HUL / WAT / mid / CPL / wba / CPL / sto / bur / wba / mid / MID / SUN

I like the use of Bournemouth, as it opens up options to use Francis (who has some interesting attacking stats @ 4.5M), or new signing Smith @ 4.0M).

Please let me have your thoughts!

      Any chance of an RMT?

      Foster / Heaton
      Azpilicueta / Shaw / Williams / Souare / Friend
      Mkhitaryan / Firmino / Tadic / Deulofeu / Capoue
      Aguero / Costa / Gray

        Oops reply fail, sorry.

But I like the look of that rotation chain! Although I'm not sure if I'd plan 19 weeks in advance, unless you're adamant on avoiding an early wildcard?

I think there are some question marks over Souare.

I would downgrade Williams to Taylor as the extra money will be useful.

I am not convinced about starting with Firmino given the fixtures; upgrade him to Eriksen with the money you have saved from Williams.

I am not sure if Costa is going to stay at Chelsea, so monitor that situation.

Cheers for the tips, duly noted. My gut says to stick with Firmino as he scored against big clubs last year so I don't see why he can't again, also Arsenal are going to be missing key players in that first week. But I may be biased as a Liverpool fan.

Problem is i cant see Bourne or Burley keeping clean sheets, even at home.

Swans normally do but given their lack of transfer activity i think they will struggle this season.

One Ayew / Siggy / Williams injury they are screwed

I think Bournemouth have a chance of keeping things clean and even if they don't, players like Francis @ 4.5M have some attacking potential.

Agree re: Burnley, but they do have a really small pitch!

I like Francis alot, he was killed last season due to him having to play CB for a large amount of games but at RB he dynamite attacking and bonus wise. Even Smith when playing at RB did well, its Bournes system.

Clean sheets will still be a mjor issue though imo:

Defense looks a bit week as there aren't really any reliable teams in there. Maybe downgrade Deloufeu to a cheap 5th mid as he'd be too expensive to bench every week anyway. Then invest that in your defense.

    Hi guys! Please RMT:

    de Gea - Jakupovic
    Koscielny - Azpilicueta - McAuley - Paredes - Friend
    Townsend - Sigurdsson - Payet - Eriksen - Tadic
    Aguero - Gray - Long

After GW2, I'm thinking to switch Long to Wilson.

I always love a 4.5 solid defender and Wolly/Pieters, Naylor, McCauley/JEvans, are all lovely, neat, little options.

Perhaps Cathcart and Byram/Collins could go into that bracket.

However, Burnley and Boro have the fix, with Burnley now experienced and Karanka's defensive ways, we're going to surely get some relatively good value dangled in front of us.

Guys, keep seeing people questioning souare's position as first choice lb at palace.

He is first choice, Pardee was just giving zeki fryers a run out as he's been a colossal flop so far to decide to sell him on or loan hulim out.

That was partly my doing; saw him playing 3 games in a row but didn't realise Souaré had international duty

Though it must be said Fryers has played very very well in all three games and offered a lot more going forward than Souaré

It's enough to throw me off Souaré for the time being

I concur, they've admitted it was all an experiment and anyway Souare had been on international duty. Still might go with Ward & him as WB's though now they have 3 decent CB's but a conventional 4-2-3-1 looks the one.

      Thoughts on below?

      Heaton (Foster)

      Azpi, Souare, Shaw, Friend, McCauley

      Haz, Ayew, Mkhi, Fischer, Hjolberg

      Kun, Lukaku, Rondon

Plan is the WC for GW3 as per previous seasons.

      1. Souare gives little attacking threat

          He is only 4.5m tbf

    5. 4-3-3 GW 2 or 3 Planning to ditch Ayew for Payet/Haz/Özil (whoever is on it)

      Foster
      Bellerín van Dijk Shaw Azpi
      Ayew Mahrez Mkhitaryan
      Agüero Long Rondón

      Jakupovic Koné Leko Capoue

Any helpful comments on players not the formation ?

Not looked at rotations but pretty sure I am wanting 3 out of 4 below:

        1) Pieters
        2) Kone
        3) Friend
        4) Naylor

Which ones? Currently on first 3.

        1. Stoke fixtures not great early doors. Naylor not good Gw3 onwards

Yes, really considering those teams so open to alternative 4.5s in those teams. Actually think I prefer Fernandez from the Swans.

More good news on the Deulofeu front.

Gabriel has forced his way into my team. Ditched 3x4.5 in favour of Gabriel + Friend + 4.0

Yep. So no rotation really, just getting Gab now to save a transfer. If I need 1m will ditch.

Currently have Mkhitaryan in over Deulofeu btw. Thinking of Ayew to Everton gw3 rather than starting with him

Is Bojan too expensive as a 5th mid to start the season in a 343?

I'm thinking of starting with him and then downgrading to the best 4.5 that emerges.

          All thoughts appreciated.

See that's the best use of a 3-5-2 in the middle, although Tadic looks better than Fab. Problem is the top 2 aren't heavy enough so again it's a bit pointless. A 3-5-2 must surely have 2 monsters up top?

Right, as there are people who are online right now who I respect RE FPL - I kindly offer my first RMT of the season....

          Aim to WC GW4

          Foster
          Morgan - Evans - Naylor
          Siggy - Hazard - KDB - Gradel
          Aguero - Zlatan - Austin / Long

Very well balanced if not a little light at the back. Maybe go Silva over KDB and upgrade one. Just my opinion.

Surely you have a bit of cash left anyway?

Could also go Haz downgrade unless you are set on him.

              No cash left.

I've played around downgrading KDB/Hazard - bringing in Martial/Silva etc.

It definitely makes the team look better in real life, but I think KDB + Hazard are potentially two of the best in first couple of weeks.

Yeah DF taking a hit for sure. My logic is the start of the season is a bit mental until it settles.

Also think no MUN MF is mitigated by Ibra first couple of weeks. Will swap out to Kane / Lukaku going forward

Nah, preferred Ibra + hazard / KDB.

Unless there is anyway to upgrade Siggy to 9 - but haven't figured that out yet!

I think it looks very good; although I wouldn't necessarily wildcard in GW4 with the big hitters that you have. You can sell on the Swans (Sig to Barkley for example), hope you don't get any injuries at the back and move in for an Arsenal mid if one of Hazard or KDB isn't performing.

Reported attitude problems with Sakho at Liverpool.

To be expected really, one of the common side effects of having to go cold turkey is mood swings and erratic behaviour :p

Strong midfield. Would defo think about brining in shaw or terry/azpi to add a bit to the defence.

          This is weird.

FPL is here for so much and Daniels still didn't appear. Hope he is ok.

Daniels isn't on penalties now Wilson is back, and he has competition from Mings and now Brad Smith, who is £4m. Sorry Charlie, but no thanks.

          Great news on Souare.

He alongside Wolly/Pieters + McAuley/Evans all have been part of a Pulis defence, past or present.

Aye, but that Palace backline showed solidarity and then some under Pulis. Potential to recapture that.

Kunless wonders? Dunno, Kane is a slow starter and no Dembele for a while. Maybe a bit muddled in def too? 2 5.5's are enough with 2 4.5's. More of a 5 than an 8 atm.

Does the fact that Gradel just signed a contract extension mean anything to us in terms of fantasy football?

Is he more likely to start? Less likely to be rotated or does it mean very little?

I think he was always going to start now he's fully fit, the extension is just a pay rise to keep him happy.

Good question, we need a centre half more than we need another LB. Can Brad Smith play in any other position?

Because there's some speculation that Mings is going to CB when fully fit. So see Brad Smith as cover for Daniels?

I really struggle with the defence this year. Thinking of going fairly cheap.
          Foster-Jaku
Stones (City) - Baines - Fernandez - Friend - Paredes

What do you guys think is the best rotation pair at the moment? 2 way rotation that is
