We delve into the Gameweek data now in our first members article of the week. Amongst this evening’s topics for analysis are Liverpool, Stoke and Southampton’s midfielders, Swansea and West Brom’s frontmen, Man United’s full-backs and Palace’s summer signing with a penchant for a pot shot.
-
Messi has been sublime this game! 🙂
-
well he is Messi haha
-
-
How is my team looking? Suggestion for improvement are welcome.
Foster
Valencia / Friend / Amat / Baines
Firmino (C) / Redmond / Alli
Agüero (VC) / Costa / Vardy
Bench : Jaku / Townsend / Capoue / Dann-
I would play Townsend ahead of Friend.
Clean sheets are so hard to predict I prefer to favour the attacking player! Other than that looks good.-
I prefer that too. But friend getting a CS is more likely than Townsend scoring against Spurs imo
-
-
I'd reconsider C.
-
other than not scoring ,he look pretty sharp upfront against arsenal
-
-
Vardy and Alli for Lamela and Ibra...-4 mind you. I like the Firmino captain choice.
-
already did morgan to baines & dont want to take a hit. good suggestion nonetheless. cheers
-
-
Townsend for Redmond
-
-
What are Deulofeu owners going to do if he blanks and/or gets subbed off in the 70th minute against WBA? Transfer him out or hold on for the good fixtures coming?
-
Will probably give one final chance, lukaku coming back could help him I feel.
-
Lukaku's return could also hinder his points probability. With Bolasies inclusion into the squad, I feel Deulofeu might not get enough playing time to warrant a stay in my midfield. This year I want to be ruthless with my transfers, I was way too adamant to make them last year and resulted into me holding onto players like Gomis for 4 or 5 weeks while he was blanking and ignoring players like Vardy.
-
This!! His playing time is questionable at best
-
Yeah bolasie would be my main concern, deu is more of an assister rather than scorer, so I think lukaku is a positive, but as you say gametime could be the issue. Even if he starts he's likely to be sub relatively early. Fixtures are too good to ignore so for me it's either keep or sell and get barkely
-
I like Barkley a lot but his inconsistency worries me. We will see what happens this week but for me, if Deulofeu blanks, I'm transferring him out. I have an extra 0.5 so Lamela could be a good option if he keeps up his form. After Spurs play Liverpool they have some excellent fixtures.
-
-
Even without competition he isn't a player likely to have too many 90min games as his style of play with his pace causes him to run out of steam towards the end of matches and he will often be subbed early IMO, or rotated for rests and coming on late etc.

Foster
Shaw Stones Amat
Hazard Tadic Redmond Ramirez
Aguero Zlatan Vardy
Jaku Capoue Friend Soare
The two questions I cannot decide on this week. First to 5 for each and I'm done, will ask no more.
1. Tadic to Lamela
A. Yes
B. No
2. Captain...
A. Aguero
B. Zlatan
Please help!-
I would
Tad to Barkley/Deulefou
Cap Hazard -
AA
-
1) God, no.
2) A. -
1. No.
2. Kun.
-
-
Any thoughts on Barkley vs Bolasie?
-
Defo Barkley because of bigger goal and assist threat, set pieces and possibly pens as well.
-
Don't rate Bolasie, doesn't have enough end product for fantasy returns.
-
Agreed
-
-
-
Bigger point potential this GW?
A) Firm (bur) + Vardy (ARS)
B) Nolito (stk) + Costa (wat)
---
Have nagging doubts about Nolito being rested.-
I think B, but A is the safest option.
-
Thanks
-
-
A
-
Thanks
-
-
C firmino and Costa
-
Agreed. But don't want -4 hit.

RMT:
Foster
Amat - Valencia - Stones
Alli - Hazard - Firmino -Redmond
Aguero - Zlatan - Rondon
Jaku - Friend - wilson - fletcher
not sure with Alli... is that good to use a FT for Alli?-
Your G2G the END .
-
No need to change anything, just chill
-
Class team
-
-
Tadic or Redmond, who will come out on top with the points?
-
Hard to say
-
Tadic.
-
Tadic. But close one.
-
If I had both I'd play Tadic
-
Tadic will come good, no doubt in my mind.
-
2 for each
-
-
Worth it to trade injured De Roon?
-
he will consistently get 2 points so may as well get rid at some point.
-
He is my 4.5m bench warmer...
-
I know but there are 4.5 options with slightly more attacking potential.
-
-
-
-
A Vardy brace and ibra blank is going to annoy sooooo many people this week.
-
Would absolutely lover this.
-
It would make my week.
-
And a rooney hattrick
-
Add a Kane goal in there too and I'm happy
-
Fellow Kane, Vardy, Kuner? 🙂
-
Just Kane and aguero, but would love vardy and Kane to score so that the Ibra owners feel far less comfortable and high up than they do now 😆
-
I would love Kane and Vardy to blank so their owners feel less high up than Ibra owners, whatever that even means? 😉
-
-
-
-
I take it you will not be one of them?
-
-
One more roster dilemma...Who to start this GW?
Diamonde (Swa) or Ramirez (Sun)-
Ramirez
-
Ramirez
-
Ram man
-
Gastonnnn
-
-
DDG (Jakupovic)
***top secret defence***
Hazard; Mahrez; Redmond; Martial (Capoue)
Aguero; Rooney; Defoe
WC RMT please and thank you-
Apart from Rooney, very good
Would consider downgrading Martial and changing Rooney -
Top much Utd attack. But would keep one of them as utd covet. Payet instead of Martial or Luk instead of Rooney
-
Your defence needs work.
-
-
The Dembele & Kanté cursed have left me with these options:
A) Alli to Sterling/Barkley
B) Vardy to Rooney/Lukaku
C) Monitor and save FT-
C
-
dembele only really effects kanes output as far as i know and i see how no kante is a detriment to leicsesters defence but not really vardys goal output so C
-
-
oster (Jakupovic)
Valencia, Terry, Stones (Friend, Amat)
Hazard, Firmino, Alli, Redmond (Capoue)
Aguero, Vardy, Gray
1FT, 0.0 in bank
If price rises loom much closer:
A. Vardy & Alli -> Ibra & Lamela (-4)
B. Save FT-
B. We don't know if Ibra is the best route to Utd attack yet
-
-
Bench who?
Hazard
Coutinho
Barkley
Ramirez
Sterling
Aguero
Defoe
Carroll-
Sorry meant alli not Ramirez
-
Sterling. Going on his underlying stats anyway with just one goal attempt so far.
-
Wow is that a WC team or did you start with that team? I would bench Ramirez
-
Wildcard surely with all but Carrol getting in the points.
-
Actually no, took a -4 for tadic-firminio------> sterling-Coutinho
-
Just as poor decision.
-
-
-
-
What a headache. Probably Barkley IMO.
-
-
Any changes needed?
Foster,
Valencia, Stones, Walker
Redmond, Haz, Firmino, Townsend,
Defoe, Kane (C), Kun (V)
(Juk, Capoue, Amat, Friend) -
Silly to do Pieters (MCI) ---> Amat (HUL)?
Would be playing him over one of Evans (EVE) or Friend (sun)-
I think you already know the answer to this question, 😉
-
Only if you need to extra money, otherwise I'd keep and play Friend
-
As a transfer? I wouldn't want to spend a transfer on a defender this early, unless injuries happen.
-
Yes, silly. Both Evans and Friend are fine for this week, so it's a total waste to bring in Amat.
-
-
Going mad here
Ayew for lamela or Barkley.-
Barkley
-
Lamela if you don't have anyone else from Spurs. I'm curious to see what happens to Barkley once Lukaku is back. He tends to drift back at times, and I wonder if he played a little more forward last week only because Lukaku wasn't there.
-
-
A: oscar>martial
or
B: vardy>ibra
C:something else?
had 3 mill ITB to make a upgrade to united cover for coming weeks.

I really don't understand why Ibra and Kun are not in everyone's team. They have crazy high ownership and the potential to be the highest scoring forwards in the game.
-
It's surely be a boring game if everyone had the same players, saying that though i have both Kun and ibra 🙂
-
You have to insulate yourself against these high ownership players and use other spots for your differentials. High ownership consistent players have to make up the core of your team.
-
I agree with you totally, and that's the safer thing to do. Suppose to start with people just fancied a different tactic hoping to get ahead.
-
good to know I'll be seeing you in the top 10k 🙂
-
-
-
-
The hull factor attracted Vardy owners, and his good fixs. Ibra is s legend but still doubts over his value. Personally I don't think that he will score big loads of goals, utd attackers will share the goals, whereas Aguero will score most of Citys goals.
-
What if your wrong though. If he scores v Saints he will have 50% ownership come GW 3.
-
-
I understand where you are coming from. Their high ownership is quite scary esp when they score. However, their price does inhibit the rest of your team particularly in midpark. It will be interesting to see how Ibra pans out as his underlying stats aren't that promising.
-
Martial costs 2m less - he outscored Ibra last week. Martial played 10 mins less and still recorded:
more touches in the final third
more penalty area touches
more goal attempts in the box
more chances created
more fantasy points-
nothing wrong with having both though I suppose 😉
-
-
I am only bringing this up now as Ibra's price will rise this week. If you don't have him you should get him now. His price will continue to rise. Why take the chance this early
-
-
Hiya lads, i asked this earlier but i messed up the options 🙂
Who to bench from these?
A) Stones
B) Jagielka
C) Friend
Right now i'm playing Stones alongside Amat and Valencia.
Thank you for any help.-
Bench Stones & Friend.
-
Tbh, I'd bench Amat and play Jagielka and Stones.
-
Cheers guys, i do agree. Koeman's defence and all that, Jags it is.
-
Friend.
-
Cheers Jafalad

Wow. Such a hard week to pick a captain.
I reall don't want Aguero or Ibra. Sergio may do well but Man City haven't always been the most convincing away from home like they are at home. This may change under Pep but I'd rather wait and see. Stoke no pushovers against big teams either.
Ibra a class player but I don't expect Utd to put many past Southampton.
Firmino would be my pick if playing a better side, but Burnley won't dare do anything but sit back and that means Liverpool don't get the space they thrive in and may not roll Burnely over as expected.
Hazard is currently my pick, although not sure what Chelsea will play like away from home particularly attack wise. This concerns me. Worried they may focus on keeping it tight at the back first and foremost.
Wildcard pick may be to let Gradel see what he can do against a leaky West Ham side.
Decisions. Decisions.-
I'm having trouble picking a captain out of Aguero, Ibra or Hazard. i'll prpbably end up going with Hazard. Really enjoyed how they played and attacked against West Ham, Watford should be on paper more easier.
-
This is why I have Kane, you know.
-
Gradel didn't start against united so be careful
-
Don't punt on Gradel as he hasn't won his place yet.
I'm torn between Hazard, Kane & Aguero at present. -
I'm currently on Firmino
No harm in a punt this week if you believe Ibra and Aguero will struggle. I'm in that boat.
http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2016/08/15/dugout-discussion-chelsea-vs-west-ham/?hc_page=37#hc_comment_13821407-
I like Firmino and am complete happy to own him over any other Pool player unlike some and feel he will do great BUT I don't think Liverpool will score many 1 or 2 as they prefer teams that will take the game to them and therefore leaving space for the fluid attackers to move around. I can't see Burnley doing this.
-
If no player imparticular impresses this weekend then Firmino will be my captain next week away at Spurs.
-
He only needs one goal in theory to get 11 points
-
10. Unless it's a blue moon - when Pool keep cleanies
-
-
-
-
Thanks guys.
Hazard was my captain this week and it may be better to play safe and leave it on him.
Although I expect Gradel will regain his place, you're right, it is still uncertain and I suppose gambling at this point isn't needed. -
I think I'm going to captain Vardy.
Not sure about it, but have a gut feeling that he will do well, and I'd rather go with a risky pick at the start as there's a long time to catch up if it doesn't pay off.
-
-
Just pulled the trigger on Ayew to Barkley.
-
Good move
-
-
Who would you prefer? cheers
A. Kane/Barkley
B Ibra/Lamela-
B Ibra/Lamela
-
-
I have Mahrez currently in my team but I am un-decided on transferring him out for this gameweek and getting in either
A)Firmino
B)Payet
Or will I just save my transfer ?-
Save!
-
I think I will cheers
-
-
Just save. He just signed a four-year deal. He could be jumping out of shoes for this one.
-
-
Who to bench, Friend or Amat this week?
-
Friend
-
-
Would you downgrade ayew to someone like ramirez /Philips to free up money to do vardy -- zlatan nxt wk??
Have hazard, firmino,tadic in midfield..-
Yes I would
-
-
Really struggling with how much of an unknown Nolito is.
Wasn't impressed by MCI GW1 - but they & he played very well last night in CL.
No idea how he or MCI will play Stoke away...
Thoughts?-
A "wait and see" for me And I'd imagine others too
Same with sterling -
Their opposition on Tuesday was so bad its really hard to judge.
The main problem is when Sane comes in he will probable take minutes of sterling/nolito. The UCL midweek matches will also throw a spanner in the works with regards rotation.
Just wait a few more gameweeks to figure the city midfield out would be my advice.
-
-
With Foster in goal for GW2 which three should I play:
Shaw Stones McAuley Pieters Friend-
Probably Shaw, Stones, McAuley.
-
I was thinking of dropping stones and having Friend in there. From the highlights I thought he looked good attacking wise in their first game.
Is doubling up on WBA defence too much
