Michail Antonio shifts forward and provides the decisive finish as West Ham celebrate their London Stadium bow with a hard-fought victory. Earlier in the day, Alvaro Negredo’s qualtiy and Cristhian Stuani’s finishing combined to earn Middlesbrough three points on Wearside. Here’s the Stock Check after Sunday’s matches…

On the Rise

Alvaro Negredo
A goal in Gameweek 1, followed by two classy assists today. Negredo appears to be reveling in his lone striker role for Middlesbrough and his intelligence and awareness looks very effective in combination with the likes of Gaston Ramirez and Stewart Downing as creators. Negredo sits third in the FPL rankings – only Sergio Aguero and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have started stronger. Further transfer traffic is heading his way.

Cristhian Stuani
It’s a long shot but we have to mention the Uruguayan following his two goals. Brought in to replace Albert Adomah as part of Aitor Karanka expected rotation on the flanks, he reacted by seizing his opportunity in style. It remains to be seen if Stuani can retain a starting role – even as a 4.9 forward, his appeal would seem limited.

Patrick van Aanholt
More goals and more attempts than any other defender last season, the flying Dutchman has already opened his account for 2016/17. While David Moyes’ defence ha been unsettled by injury and departures, Van Aanholt still provides a tempting proposition given his attacking prowess and Sunderland’s fixtures. The Black Cats welcome Everton, Palace and West Brom to Wearside over the next five Gameweeks.

Michail Antonio
Has Eden Hazard done Fantasy managers a huge favour? After enduring a torrid evening at the hands of the Belgian at Stamford Bridge last Monday, Antonio was shifted onto the flank for today’s home clash with Bournemouth. Considering the injury situation in attack, Slaven Bilic will surely now look to keep Antonio in an attacking role after the former Nottingham Forest man headed home the match-winner. If he can keep his place and that position beyond the Gameweek 3 trip to City, Antonio would certainly be back on our radar as a true alternative to Dimitri Payet.

James Collins
A goal against Chelsea, followed up by a solid rearguard display against the Cherries, looks to have kept the Welshman ahead of Angelo Ogbonna in the West Ham defence. At 4.5, he’s got some very decent upcoming fixtures after next week’s trip to City has passed. We’re currently favouring Winston Reid for his security of starts but Collins may just usurp him heading into that run of matches.

In Decline

Dimitri Payet
Slaven Bilic has played down the severity of the Frenchman’s injury but, with a trip to City up next, Payet’s 25% owners aren’t hanging about. Over 36,000 have parted company already this week, more than any midfielder – with the international break to follow Gameweek 3, a failure to feature at the Etihad could see the exodus snowball.

Andy Carroll
With Andre Ayew ruled out for months, the Hammers target man seemed nailed on up front for the foreseeable future. Yet again, though, Carroll faces a spell on the sidelines after succumbing to a knee injury – given his treatment room history, we should have known that price of 6.5 was too good to be true.

Callum Wilson
The Cherries striker looked a shadow of the player that scored a hat-trick away to the Hammers just 12 months ago. Hauled off for the second match in succession, Wilson has managed just two attempts on goal in the first couple of Gameweeks. Eddie Howe’s side will struggle if they fail to get him firing.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Best striker for 6.9m or under to partner with this attack:

    Hazard - Barkley - Lamela - Redmond - Capoue
    Kun - Ibra

    Appreciate your thoughts!

Has anyone ever not used either of their 2FT? I'm considering it this week as I can't see any transfers to make but it feels incredibly wasteful to not use one of the 38FT you get.

Is there now "luxury" transfer to make? Like a goalkeeper. Or a sideways move like Shaw -> Valencia?

The 2 I'm thinking of shipping out are Tadic and VVD since I also have Redmond. The only reason I'm keeping is that Southampton have Sunderland at home this week. I guess Tadic to anyone 8.9m or under is still an option.

same here, just don't know what transfer to make (not complaining mind), thinking of getting rid of Stones, yes he is only 5.0 but City keep conceding and you probably won't get any attacking returns anyway...

      1. Geri-hatricks
        • 9 Years

Stones is a tough one. In a good team but they've just been quite leaky. West Ham haven't lit the world on fire going forward though and at home, they're still a decent chance for a CS

City were unlucky to concede in their last game though. Could have easily kept a CS. I just didn't fancy Stones as you expect some potential for goals, assists or baps from a 5.0.

    http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/939/

What do we think about no. 4 and no. 12 in this table? They both have good stats, but are they worth bringing in over the more popular/expensive picks from their respective teams? And do you reckon they'll be starting players or rotated?

Would really appreciate some opinions 🙂

The problem is that it's not about "cover". There are better picks at the same price (or cheaper)

For 12 I think it's a bit about cover. They will score lots of goals and will share them imo. For that price bracket and his position there are ofc some other options, but I'm not convinced about any of them.. DT and RB are two, but i really only fancy the former.

On wc so playing around with my options 🙂

Yeah, that's my thinking as well, but really impressed by the latter even though he plays deeper (on paper at least) and could use the spare change. I think their false 9 will come good eventually...

12, I had at points last season and done very well for me.. Very underrated. Manager loves him and think he'll find a place for him in the team most of the time regardless of who's fit.

Arsenal aren't solid enough for me yet so Capoue had the edge for me? but they both have a challenge ahed of them.

Yes can see both getting 2 pointers, but won't be able to stomach another Capoue haul on the bench

Clear out Swansea assets except Amat as a non playing 5th defender - have you seen their fixtures ?

Watched him on Saturday and he was very rusty and link up with Llorente was not the best. Also watch out for price drops !!!

I will pick him up again after 5 or so games

Is Baines worth 0.5 over Williams? Will Williams start this week?

Williams should start, yes. Haven't seen much of Everton yet, so don't know how attacking Baines has been

I waited to change Ayew due to Another transfer last week. Whom to pick instead? Mittfield is weak but costy right now. Team:
Bank: £0 Before Selling Ayew (Worth £7.4)

    GK: Jakupovic/Pickford
DF: Williams Morgan Friend Daniels Valencia
MF: Onomah Payet Alli Ayew Bolasie
    ATT: Aguero Zlatan Lloriente

It's a good idea. But I end up 2 mitfielders from Spurs and 2 from Irons, again. Trying to avoid that.

He was very good for me when I owned him last season, but Lukaku would be the player to get from Eve i think

    Barkley or mirallas?

save 1.1m by going mirallas but is he secured? better to take on barkley now and then downgrade later if mirallas continues to go well as barkley is nailed on for time being and his price is more likely to increase.
