Michail Antonio shifts forward and provides the decisive finish as West Ham celebrate their London Stadium bow with a hard-fought victory. Earlier in the day, Alvaro Negredo’s qualtiy and Cristhian Stuani’s finishing combined to earn Middlesbrough three points on Wearside. Here’s the Stock Check after Sunday’s matches…

On the Rise

Alvaro Negredo
A goal in Gameweek 1, followed by two classy assists today. Negredo appears to be reveling in his lone striker role for Middlesbrough and his intelligence and awareness looks very effective in combination with the likes of Gaston Ramirez and Stewart Downing as creators. Negredo sits third in the FPL rankings – only Sergio Aguero and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have started stronger. Further transfer traffic is heading his way.

Cristhian Stuani
It’s a long shot but we have to mention the Uruguayan following his two goals. Brought in to replace Albert Adomah as part of Aitor Karanka expected rotation on the flanks, he reacted by seizing his opportunity in style. It remains to be seen if Stuani can retain a starting role – even as a 4.9 forward, his appeal would seem limited.

Patrick van Aanholt
More goals and more attempts than any other defender last season, the flying Dutchman has already opened his account for 2016/17. While David Moyes’ defence ha been unsettled by injury and departures, Van Aanholt still provides a tempting proposition given his attacking prowess and Sunderland’s fixtures. The Black Cats welcome Everton, Palace and West Brom to Wearside over the next five Gameweeks.

Michail Antonio
Has Eden Hazard done Fantasy managers a huge favour? After enduring a torrid evening at the hands of the Belgian at Stamford Bridge last Monday, Antonio was shifted onto the flank for today’s home clash with Bournemouth. Considering the injury situation in attack, Slaven Bilic will surely now look to keep Antonio in an attacking role after the former Nottingham Forest man headed home the match-winner. If he can keep his place and that position beyond the Gameweek 3 trip to City, Antonio would certainly be back on our radar as a true alternative to Dimitri Payet.

James Collins
A goal against Chelsea, followed up by a solid rearguard display against the Cherries, looks to have kept the Welshman ahead of Angelo Ogbonna in the West Ham defence. At 4.5, he’s got some very decent upcoming fixtures after next week’s trip to City has passed. We’re currently favouring Winston Reid for his security of starts but Collins may just usurp him heading into that run of matches.

In Decline

Dimitri Payet
Slaven Bilic has played down the severity of the Frenchman’s injury but, with a trip to City up next, Payet’s 25% owners aren’t hanging about. Over 36,000 have parted company already this week, more than any midfielder – with the international break to follow Gameweek 3, a failure to feature at the Etihad could see the exodus snowball.

Andy Carroll
With Andre Ayew ruled out for months, the Hammers target man seemed nailed on up front for the foreseeable future. Yet again, though, Carroll faces a spell on the sidelines after succumbing to a knee injury – given his treatment room history, we should have known that price of 6.5 was too good to be true.

Callum Wilson
The Cherries striker looked a shadow of the player that scored a hat-trick away to the Hammers just 12 months ago. Hauled off for the second match in succession, Wilson has managed just two attempts on goal in the first couple of Gameweeks. Eddie Howe’s side will struggle if they fail to get him firing.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Re-post from older thread:
Guys I've been contemplating a WC team all weekend and falling for the "getting whooped by casuals" card but I think Payet and Carroll have given me a lifeline with my 2 FTs:

    Foster Heaton
    Evans, Shaw, Stones, Wollscheid, Chambers
    Firmino, Alli, Tadic, Townsend, Payet
    Aguero, Carroll, Long

    A) Payet / Carroll --> Ibra / Capoue (0.3 ITB)
    B) Wildcard

Yes I know I'll be carrying some non- nailed on starters and out of form midfielders one more week. But we all believe in Tadic, and Alli / Firm can be sat on and analysed for 1 or 2 more weeks. Does this makes sense? Any alternatives?

        Thanks lads - appreciate it!

I'd love to hold the WC for the DGW's at the end of season. The only other tickle I have is Rooney over Ibra to save money ITB for a Hazard or similar upgrade.. That said, Ibra covers my risk vs. casuals and maybe too early for the differential option while chasing.

I would WC personally. Long dropping price and none of your attack have done much apart from Tadic and Aguero

Redmond is also a better option then tadic and chambers doesnt start too

Good perspective - thanks. Also thanks for heads-up on the WC, I should read the small print. Short term I've made the A- change but will keep this in mind closer to the GW..hope with Long's next 3 he might pick up a few and Chambers was a short term gamble who needs shipped. I've already dropped 0.2 🙁

    Repost from hours ago.
    Decent 94k finish. Current team:

    Adrian - Forster
    Valencia - Stones - Friend - McAuley - Amat
    Hazard - Tadic - Lamela - Townsend - Fletcher
    Aguero - Ibra - Gray

Still have 2 FT, no clue as to what to do with them, any suggestions? (Expensive GK rotation I know, but have a look, it works great).

Yes and no, as also a risk of rotation with Redmond since he's a winger being used up top and Southampton don't play wide men. Redmond would be great value if one of the strikers got injured.

    Looking for some DZ opinion

    Carroll to... (-4)

    A) Rondon - Better underlying stats, WBA fixtures. But WBA is less attacking in general and shopping for another striker (Rodriquez SOU)

    B) Negrado - form, decent fixtures, smart player, catch price rises. Decent stats but can he keep it up? Would face Foster and hence negate CS

    Currently on Rondon

Just asking. Ik what the answer will be but why?

    Ibra-Aguero-Gray

    Costa-Rooney-Aguero

I think option 2 could score more overall as all the forwards will score and assist as appose to Gray who will score and assist less.

I do think that having both Ibra & Aguero won't be required in the long run since you really only need one of them to captain. But until we know which forwards/mids offers value for price we need them both.

Agree completely, except at this rate they could end up actually proving decent value for price which justifies keeping both long-term. Especially if there's enough lower-priced options to keep the boat afloat.

    3. Postman Ty
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 6 months ago

Costa is useless as a premium fantasy option imo. Gray could outpace his value, although he didn't impress anyone with bonus points either after grabbing a goal and assist for 1bp.
There's no way Rooney keeps up with Ibra, not at this rate. Rooney will have his hot and cold patches but Ibra always finds a way, and looks like he can talk Rooney out of pens.

You typically get what you pay for in terms of TV brands. Toshiba and JVC are similar quality; not fantastic but at that price point should do just fine for you.

Samsung, LG, Panasonic, and Sony are the top dogs in TVs, but you'll have to splash a little extra. Try and find a sale, but I wouldn't get a second hand one?

      1. Clintymints

Open to the idea if I could find one! I'll have a look on gumtree and see what I can find. It would be just easier to get a new one and get a nice 12 month no fuss warranty - even with the cheaper brands but I'll have a look for sure

I didn't mean to put the question mark** haha. Just meant to say I would definitely buy new, but a sale on a new one.

I bought one last summer on sale and it's not 'smart' but I get Netflix as a TV channel with my provider, or through the Xbox.

Pretty handy that. I also have sky on my xbox + netflix and the rest, but I got used to the convenience of just pressing the Netflix button on my remote on my tv at home! I'm currently abroad atm and just looking for a cheap enough smart tv to waste my time!

Prob best to have a look in the shops but the specs look all pretty similar, just wondering if there was any big benifit from the ones I mentioned, they'd probably all do a decent job!

    Foster (Jaku)
    Valencia Stones Evans (Friend Amat)
    Hazard Firmino Tadic Lamela (Capoue)
    Aguero Kane Gray

2FT, 0m ITB. Should I do Firmino and Kane to Barkley and Ibra for free before the price changes?

    Barkley or Lamela? (on WC)

    1. One Man
      • 9 Years

      Barkley Shades it on fixtures
      Barkley shades it on form
Barkley is less of a rotation risk
Koeman is a better manager than Mar and should get better results from Barkley. Plus Lukaku is back.

Delefou is not nailed for everton with Lukaku and Bolasie coming into the team and Mirallas and Barkley are unlikely to be dropped due to there form

For those looking to WC after GW3 what is your thoughts for a single GW punt this gameweek?

Mine is currently Firmino to Tadic

    1. Kurtinho
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 6 months ago

Still so unsure whether I will stick to plan and WC after GW3. Started the season better than expected and have no pressing issues. Maybe I'll risk Gray to Benteke early and have the WC as a fallback option.

Am in a similar boat. Yeah - am going to look at my planned WC team and see how many trades I need to achieve it and see if it is better to WC or to get that team over trading for a few weeks.

Firmino to Tadic works for me both ways to - will be in WC team and has a good fixture this week

currently on a WC. 0.3 ITB.

    Foster / Jaku
    Collins / Shaw / Walker / McAuley / Amat
    Bolasie / Hazard / Lamela / Redmond / Capoue
    Aguero / Ibra / Lukaku

    Remaining question:
    ---> Collins, Holgate or Holding?

    1. DeathAngel
      • 16 Years

Why do you want to get rid of Collins, particularly when it's for either of those two?

      1. Francescoli
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 6 months ago

i'm on a wildcard. i'm looking longterm. everton have great fixtures, holding is a cheap way into the arsenal defence...

        1. DeathAngel
          • 16 Years
          9 years, 6 months ago

The Arsenal defence seems a lot poorer having Holding in it, and he may well get replaced by the end of August if they buy someone.

Collins has good fixtures too, and you won't have to worry about using a future transfer in a couple of weeks to switch Holgate out, (he will lose his place once Williams and Coleman are back. Also, unless you are able to perfectly pre-empt what Koeman is thinking, you will lose out during the week that you find out that Holgate isn't starting, since you will be playing him, he gets dropped and then you have to play a weaker player from your bench instead.

I think he'll start as Wickham has been woeful for them, and not just this season either.

They desperately need to get points on the board and it's not like Benteke is just coming back from an injury, he's been training with Liverpool.

    A) Kane and Firm for Ibra and Barkley. Then Tadic for Coutinho long term if the price doesnt change.
    Or
    B) Kane and Firm for Bolasie and Ibrahimovic. That would leave me the money to swap Tadic for a 9.5 (Probably Ozil in the short term and Mahrez long term).
