After a stilted stalemate at the Hawthorns, it’s fair to say that we’re looking forward to some fireworks from the tea-time kick-off.

Manchester City host West Ham United at the Etihad as they bid to keep pace with Manchester United and Chelsea and make it three wins from three.

Pep Guardiola makes two changes, introducing Gael Clichy at left-back for Aleks Kolarov and handing a start to Nolito at the expense of Jesus Navas.

The Hammers are again without Dimitri Payet, with his absence surely set to lead to another mass exodus in FPL terms.

Slaven Bilic has changed shape in a bid to repeat last season’s victory in Manchester, recalling Angelo Ogbonna to a three-man rearguard.

Former Manchester United starlet, Ashley Fletcher, makes his first Premier League start up front in a 3-5-2 setup. Sam Bryam drops to the bench, whilst Håvard Nordtveit misses out through injury. Manuel Lanzini is fit enough for the bench.

All eyes will be Sergio Aguero – he heads into this encounter backed with the captaincy by 32% of FPL managers, just 1% less than Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who stalled with a two-point return at Hull on Saturday.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

See a lot of Sterling love, Nolito was far more impressive and less of a rotation risk.

Sane is a direct replacement for Sterling, Nolito is something different so he's less of a rot risk.

nolito more impressive? Responsible for them losing the ball most of the time after Silva/Sterling worked it forward.

No need to WC people who are happy with their team.
    Kun -> anyone

    First WC draft without Kun:

    Foster, Jaku
    Valencia, Williams, McAuley, 4.5, Amat
    Sanchez, Hazard, Nolito, Antonio, 5.5
    Ibrahimovic, Lukaku, Diomande

Will bank 2FTs to get Aguero back in, by doing: Lukaku, Nolito > Kun, 6.0. May also switch Antonio out to Lamela. Don't like any of the ~6.5 strikers.

Time and again I see the advice against taking hits.
I think it is never just about a -4 or -8 etc., but that the bigger picture should be considered.
Clearly one must have good reason to believe that the newly brought in players will outscore the old ones - if not immediately, then over a period of time.

A big reason for me to do moves is to avoid price falls and be on board before price rises.
That can easily be a swing of 0.5 in a single gameweek.

What are you thoughts on taking hits?

    1. The Donald
      • 9 Years
      9 years, 6 months ago

the game is about points not money

      1. Iwantmorepointsthanks
        • 12 Years
        9 years, 6 months ago

Do you think all hits result in a worse result when the gameweek is over?

What about implication long term, e.g. being able to afford a more expensive team?

        1. Tex
          • 11 Years
          9 years, 6 months ago

Hits aren't a bad thing. I try to avoid doing for financial reasons. But if minus 4 was the means to getting a big hitter or not being able to afford I'd go for the hit.

I took a -8 this week that totally didn't work out, dumping Vardy, Tadic and Fimino for Ibra, Barkley and Lamela (14 v 9 points) but I can't say I regret it. Should've stuck with a -4, but I was chasing price changes, and now my team is worth 101.2 and I think I would've been worse off sticking with doomed players like Tadic.

I honestly think it's far more stupid wild carding after 2 or 3 game weeks when "form" players only have a goal and an assist behind them and could go to turd like Gomis did last season.

      1. Iwantmorepointsthanks
        • 12 Years
        9 years, 6 months ago

        Agreed.
some GW2 wild carders already regret playing it so early.
I expect many will regret their GW3 wild card

    Foster / Heaton
Valencia, Stones, Evans / Friend, Pieters
Hazard, Barkley, Townsend, Redmond / Capoue
    Aguero, Ibrahimovic, Gray

Use the 2 FT and maybe an extra hit or play the wildcard?

Stones, Townsend and Gray are the issues here.

    1. Teror
      • 11 Years

You'd be a fool to WC. Totally solid looking team except for Townsend and Gray. Stones could come good with time (and I say that as a knee jerky Stones owner). Get rid of those two, maybe a -4 and you're sweeter than Danny Dyer swimming in tropicana.

What's this talk about Kun being out???

    and

Stones subbed off at 58mins and Kompany back, so are we getting rid?

Somehow I feel Kompany + Otamendi is what Guardiola will go for, after seeing Stones making City defence shaky, or am I wrong?
