Monitor – Christian Benteke

Christian Benteke had a tough time last season. Despite moving to Liverpool for £32.5 million from Aston Villa, the striker was cast aside by Jurgen Klopp in his effort to find a centre forward capable of bringing his gegenpressing approach to Merseyside.

However, Benteke has re-emerged on the radar of Fantasy managers following his move to Crystal Palace.

Having scored a textbook headed opener against Middlesbrough in Palace’s 2-1 win on Teesside, Benteke’s FPL price tag of 7.5 is likely to attract suitors drawn to his power in the air.

There are plenty reasons why that’s the case.

Although Liverpool seemed hesitant to use Benteke’s aerial strength to their advantage, Crystal Palace already appear to be building an attacking approach based around it. This suggests he could be on course to become an outstanding third striker option over the coming season.

Best Mid for 7.5 or less?

Others are Hazard, Sanchez, Capoue & Antonio.

Tbf, he was playing second fiddle and Spurs fans were screaming for months for him to be a starter in the league.

But, he's done a lot of clearing and I can't see player power being a problem at Spurs.

    Foster Pickford
    Koscielny Stones Williams Holebas Amat
    Hazard Firmino Bolasie Snodgrass Capoue
    Aguero Ibrahimović Benteke

Midfield is a bit light, but can't be improved much if you want Aguero, Ibra, Benteke, Firmino and Hazard. So I put some more money into the defence.

    Open Controls
    1. Jafalad
      10 years, 1 month ago

You may have to consider moving Ibra to Lukakua. It gives you 2.5 mill to upgrade Bolasie to a Cazorla or Antonio.

Amat apart, not too keen on your D. Stones doesn't keep cs, Kos is too expensive, Willaims needs to be Baines and Holebas is Holebas.

      Open Controls
      1. Pariße
        10 years, 1 month ago

While Holebas is my favourite 4.5m option, I agree that Stones and Koscielny are a bit unnecessary. However I think I'll get what I pay for in Koscielny, Arsenal coverage is so tempting with those fixtures up until GW 10. I'm giving Stones a chance for one more GW, which means my opinion could change by the time I actually activate it. Antonio is a nice upgrade, but I'd be looking to stretch out for Cazorla if I get the money to upgrade.

Ibra > Lukaku...I'll get some more insight on how much of a downgrade that is. If Lukaku proves to be up there with Ibra, it'd definitely be good to save the money. Thanks for help 🙂
