Dugout Discussion – Tottenham vs Sunderland

A busy Sunday of football comes to its conclusion at White Hart Lane as Spurs and Sunderland go head-to-head in the 4.30pm kick-off.

The hosts’ 4-0 win over Stoke last weekend boosted out faith in the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli, yet their midweek Champions League loss to Monaco at Wembley suggests Mauricio Pochettino’s side have yet to hit top gear.

Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela owners are left cursing their luck after the duo were named amongst the subs, with Mousa Dembele returning to the XI following a six-match suspension.

Certainly, the home side will be buoyed by their visitors’ second-half capitulation at home to Everton on Monday night.

The Black Cats have yet to win under David Moyes and, considering their current form, may well be lucky to avoid a repeat of the 4-1 reverse in the corresponding fixture last season.

      Is my defence too weak with this wildcard;

      Foster / Jaku
      Valencia / Wiliams / Holebas / Evans / Amat
      Sanchez / Sterling / Firmino / Antonio / Capoue
      Aguero / Lukaku / Deeney

      Other options are to downgrade Sterling to Snodgrass and upgrade defence - and Deeney could become Benteke or Slimani.

        Don't think your defence is too weak.

        I'm not quite sure about Valencia tho... tough fixtures ahead and drop in form.

      Very similar to my proposed WC. My only concerns are the keepers and whether I am happy with Deeney as my third striker.

      What are your thoughts?

        Pickford and Jaku rotate quite well for the next 5-6 weeks atleast.

        Deeney is on pens and WAT have really decent fixtures and are in form.
        Any other good options for max 7.3 itb? Defoe maybe?

      Deeney, Watford look strong and have good upcoming fixtures plus the certainty that he will be on penalties. Benteke too inconsistent for me.

    Thoughts on this WC team? Still a bit unsure on my third striker, it is Deeney at the moment, but there is Benteke, Defoe etc. in this bracket.

    Is it worth downgrading Collins or McAuley for an improved keeper option or a better 3rd striker?

    Next weeks already done Barkley to Firmino. The signs are all therefore pointing to Firmino getting a big haul with goals and baps. Get him in.
