Gameweek 7 comes to its conclusion as Burnley welcome Arsenal to Turf Moor.

The Gunners roll up on the back of four straight league wins, with Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott both in fine recent form.

The Chilean teed up Walcott’s pair of strikes in the midweek Champions League win over FC Basel and with three double-figure hauls in four, carries the armband hopes of many at Turf Moor.

Walcott has now notched five times in seven across all competitions and has risen to 6% ownership in Fantasy Premier League.

Another big performance today would surely kick start a bandwagon over the international break, yet Arsene Wenger’s side face an obstinate Clarets rearguard that has conceded just five goals in the previous 17 league matches in front of their own supporters.

    Rashford to Deeney or Benteke for a hit?

    The search for the 3rd striker: I need to replace Rondon this week and it is between Defoe, Deeney, and Austin. Everyone seems to be on the Deeney train, so I calculated scores based on "threat" from the FPL site. Here are the results. Also, I'm not sure what stats go under "influence" so I haven't included that, but if someone knows please say so. This is definitely making me rethink getting Deeney...

    Didn't include Aguero because we all have him, and removed Rashford because today's match made him a non option in my eyes.

    I just divided the "threat" score by minutes played. Here's how it looks:

    Ibra = 0.81
    Lukaku = 0.76
    Costa = 0.67
    Benteke = 0.53
    Defoe = 0.47
    Austin = 0.46
    Wilson = 0.37
    Deeney = 0.35

    Multiplied by a fixture ratio # to adjust for schedule difficulty (granted this included this week's matches as well, so not totally accurate):

    Ibra = 0.78
    Lukaku = 0.74
    Costa = 0.67
    Benteke = 0.51
    Defoe = 0.48
    Austin = 0.45
    Wilson = 0.39
    Deeney = 0.38

    Divided by their price:

    Lukaku = 0.079
    Austin = 0.071
    Ibra = 0.068
    Costa = 0.067
    Benteke = 0.067
    Defoe = 0.066
    Wilson = 0.061
    Deeney = 0.054

      This fails to take into account Deeney's pens. There are no stats associated with that. Always take stats with a grain salt and apply a pinch of common sense.

      That said Austin does look good, as does Tekkers.

      Hmm thats interesting. I was set on Gray to Deeney.

      I still think taking fixtures inti account, Deeney will outscore Austin over the next few weeks.

      Why should a players rating be punished for minutes played? Surely more minutes is a good thing. It shows they are fit and key to their team.

      Skews the rest of the stats making them irrelevant in my opinion.

        Just because it wouldn't be fair with not all strikers having played the same amount of matches thus far

      Furthermore it ignores the fact that Deeney is probably the best assister out of all of them.

      I need an Ibra replacement and would like to get Austin but Southampton's fixtures are putting me off.
      Burnley at home is his best fixture in the next 5 and as we know they are a tough nut to crack.

      I can't see past Benteke. Palace playing to his strengths, stats to match anybody and cheap....and he's doing the business.

      Having said that I quite like the Rondon pick. He'll be a pick and forget and somehow will muster 15 goals this season IMO.

      Important to keep in mind that this does not take into account the strength of fixtures they have played in. Deeney had a tough start to the season. Defoe's was considerably easier. Austin hasn't played many matches yet

    Overall rank of 70k. Happy with a good first few weeks - aiming for the top 10k - obviously. And top of all my MLs bar one.

    Liking the look of my team for the next few gameweeks. Just need another transfer for Rashford >
    Deeney.

    0 transfers and 0.2m in the bank.

    Pickford. Foster.
    Vertongan. Williams. Holebas. Amat. Kelly.
    Sanchez. Firmino. Sterling. Son. Capoue.
    Aguero. Lukaku. Rashford.

    No luck at all so far this season. Stuck at 700k OR and would like to hear your advice on these options:

    A) Baines & Antonio > Cameron & Walcott (have no Sánchez)
    B) Rashford & Antonio > Wilson & Wally
    C) Sterling & Antonio > Walcott & Son
    D) Sterling + Antonio + Rashford > Wally + Son + Deeney -4

    Bolassie , Ibra to go out for now - have 2FTs, so maybe take a hit later on to bring in Wally. Till then (Kun, Luk the other two)

    who to get ?

    A. Son and ______
    I am afraid Costa will get a yellow once I get him so might wait a little bit. Austin / Deeney maybe ?

  12. wbm

    Heaton / Foster
    Walker / Baines / Holebas / Smith / Amat
    Sterling / Firmino / Antonio / Snodgrass / Capoue
    Aguero / Costa / Lukaku

    2 FT - 0.8 ITB

    Would like to upgrade midfield a bit, Son/Sanchez/Walcott all looking very tempting.
    But I should probably just wait and see if I get any injuries during the break?

        I have the same doubt like many others - whether to pull the trigger tonight or wait for the internationals ? I really can't afford the price rises.

        Planning to go for Haz + Antonio + Shaw > Son + Wally + Kosc

        It seems Son and Wally are both set to rise over the next couple of days.

        What do you suggest, would be the wise thing to do.

        I have 2 FT remaining. Probably rope in Son tonight and wait on the others?

            The wise thing is to wait.
            But personally a rise means I can't transfer so will probably be foolish.

          Which option looks better guys?

          A) Ibra and Collins -> Costa and Mustafi for free
          or
          B) Ibra,Collins,Jakupovic -> Costa,Koscielny and Grant for -4 ???

            Don't like Everton's CS potential, he missed the penalty, his hamstring is dodgy. Just annoying to own and I've only had him a week.

            Arsenal/Spurs fixtures are better
