It’s time for the first members article of the international break now, as we delve into the data from Gameweek 7.

Alexis Sanchez, Sergio Aguero and Zlatan Ibrahimovic come under analysis after their Gameweek 7 armband failures.

Paul Pogba’s improved displays without Wayne Rooney in the Man United XI and Nacer Chadli’s start to life at the Hawthorns are also assessed.

    What to do?

    Foster/Pickford
    Coleman/Stones/McAuley/Holebas/Amat
    Firmino/Stirling/Antonio/Capoue/Hojbjerg
    Aguero/Ibra/Costa

    1FT 0.7ITB

Considering downgrading Ibra to Benteke, which would allow me to upgrade Hojbjerg to Son, Walcott or Cazorla next round. Good plan?

Really guys people still holding on to Ibra need to accept they made the wrong decisin keeping him. Made sense keeping him for leic and even made sense keeping for stoke with his rapid price falls.

But time to get rid now. Liv & che next. No doubt can jump back on if he hits form again later down the line. But a team who barely beat Zorya, drew with bloody stoke and there 11.5m talisman blanking in all these games. Alarm bells should be ringing.

This game is about getting the players at the right time.

    1. Worzel Gummidge
      9 years, 9 months ago

Dont. You will get a lot of this is why you keep him. Even when you say he isn't a bad pick but just 1 now they still dont listen. Until someone comes up with an actual valid point to keep then it is all nonsense. He has only had 2 decent GWs and that was the first 2.

For sure. They can talk about his underlying stats but nothing more valuable than the eye test. Utd are really really off the boil just now.

They aren't off the boil though, just not converting the chances. There's clearly a difference. What eye test are you taking? Thrashed the champions, and should've comfortably beaten Stoke(yes i know it's only Stoke). 15 goals scored in 7 matches is only 3 less than pool and city.

Did you see them against Zorya? Even against Stoke they couldnt finish them off.

Liverpool and Chelsea have been very shaky at the back to be fair. No reason Ibra can't turn things around soon (not saying he's worth his price, but the fixtures aren't as bad as your'e making out).

Nothing in 4goals vs leic. 1pt vs stoke who conceded the most set pieces in the league or something along those lines with headed goals. Liv and che nowhere near as bad as them

They'll approach the game differently though. I don't know how Stoke held on but they did...'Pool especially, and even Chelsea playing at home, will come out and attack - and that'll leave chances in behind.

    3. Rossonero

Thia game is about odds...i assumed that Ibra will get lots of chances vs Stoke and that a player of his qualitiy will finish some of them. It was a good bet with odds on my side that didn't went through, but i would bet on this odds every time. Remeber last year how punished were Kun sellers after he was blanking (with good stats) at the begining of then season, he scored 5 vs Newcastle nad most of the people that had him put a (C) on him. Something simmilar could have happened this GW with Ibra but a little luck was missing.

    Mane, Sanchez, Son, Sterling, WALCOTT
    Kun, Lukaku,

    Mane, Sanchez, Son, Sterling
    Kun, Lukaku, DEENEY

I like 3-5-2 but cant decide...

Thoughts on Joe Allen as a Capoue replacement. Would rotate with Snodders for the next few gws.

    - Can't see Capoue rising anymore
    - Advanced position
    - Involved in most of Stokes goals
    - Potential to quickly rise with a couple more returns in the next week or two

6 weeks of good fixtures coming up as well, whether a starter or on your bench. Will be tempting to a lot of people no doubt. Another 0.1 rise for Capoue would be nice as I could then bank a profit on the swap. At the moment it would be like for like cash-wise for me, and as a 5th midfielder permanently benched probably a bit of a waste of a transfer, given Capoue still has 3 good fixtures left before they turn. Having said that if I find myself with a FT to burn and nothing more pressing, I'll look at doing it.

That is my plan, at least. This gameweek: Baines to Bellerin. Next: Valencia to Rose. I think the biggest mistake people in here make is to view any goalkeeper/defender combination (back seven) of a total cost above £30 as way to expensive.

it's a lovely little crusade you've got yourself into but you simply can't argue that Ibra isn't a consistent performer. He has scored buckets of goals EVERYWHERE he has played. He does not need to prove his worth

        1. Worzel Gummidge
          9 years, 9 months ago

Again, you have not understood my post. AGAIN. He hasn't showed anything in PL and again others are outscoring him so my point is NOT he wont score points it is he isn't/wont score more with Snodgrass compared to Costa + Walcott/Sterling. This is what the facts show now. Do you get this now as if not I seriously give up. You are obviously and Ibra owner.

Is the PL much different to playing English teams in the Champions League? Is 4 goals in 7 not something in the PL?

it's an absolute nonsense to say Ibra hasn't shown anything in the PL. He's got 4 in 7. This after just joining a new club - a 57% goals to games record. Aguero's career PL record is 69%. Not a huge difference, and it doesn't include assists of course.

I have Ibra currently, but am considering selling. That's not the point though.

Again, forget what he has scored and compare with the players I mentioned. He is not worth the money and that money gets you even more points. Please understand this as I am getting completely bored with this.

If we do then defeats the point of what I am saying so I would go as far to say as no. If you can't understand what I am saying then that is fine but is is obvious. To me anyway.

look there are some legitimate points that you have made, so I'm not arguing whether x has scored more point so far than y. This is the nature of FPL, we all need to make choices. But you have to be held account for such ludicrous statements such as the above.

I think the point hes trying to make, however ungracefully is that Costa + $1.4m will score more than Ibra... A point i happen to agree with in the short term but couldn't commit to over the course of the season.

Stones is pretty nailed. Full backs will rotate as ever. Otamendi should also play until Kompany returns but he's pricey and a YC magnet.

deeney (3-4-3) or son (3-5-2) ? benchfodders would be capoue and diomande respectively.

    rest of he wc team:

    karius (pickford)
    vert kosc smith (robertson/pieters amat)
    sanchez cout wally snodgrass _____
    kun lukaku _____

Collins Jaku Kingsley need to go, otherwise squad is pretty solid. Consider Pickford, Pieters etc as replacements. Lack of Sanchez is a worry. Maybe do Antonio to Son or if looking to raise cash, Snodgrass and upgrade Kingsley

Awesome, only thing I dont like is Capoue on the bench. If hes always gonna be benched which given the strength of your mids/fwds I guess he is then put in someone who's 4.4/4.5 and use the change to upgrade Collins.

Could also Downgrade Kaku or Costa to fund Wally to Sanchez but thats making it very template and i presume you've avoided that intentionally so go with your gut 😉

Thinking of Antonio to either one, just cannot decide?

Walcott - Next 2 fixtures both at home to SWA & MID - Form 7.3
Son - Next 2 fixtures both away to WBA & BOU - Form 10.8 ( maybe rested due to travelling back from Korea)

i don't trust the Stoke defense until Butland comes back, although Cameron OOP is
a whole other thing to think about . . . i think i don't trust Stoke in general.

Holebas looks very attacking to me, has a lot of set pieces, gets some shots on goal.
he does have 4 YC, though.

              a lot to think about . . . i prefer Mustafi & Holebas in.

wait until the international games are played out, of course. a key injury to your team
              changes the whole picture.

Hey mate thanks again for the sound advice.

I see what youre saying about the Stoke defence, there's definitely a lot of difference between Cameron/Pieters or Holebas. Plus I'm not sure I'd trust Cameron to hold his place.

Mustafi and Holebas definitely looking a likely combo. Maybe Monreal but he's so unattacking I might as well gamble on Mustafi.

                Thanks man
