Romelu Lukaku and Leighton Baines are back in the mix as Everton travel to Man City. Mauricio Pochettino and Claudio Ranieri hints at rotation as the schedule steps up pace, whilst Aaron Cresswell is passed fit for West Ham’s clash with Palace.

Romelu Lukaku has recovered from a minor thigh problem in time for Everton’s trip to the Etihad. Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka and Darron Gibson are also available, though Aaron Lennon and James McCarthy are doubtful.

Mauricio Pochettino discussed the upcoming schedule and hinted at freshening up his squad. The Spurs boss – who confirmed Moussa Dembele is doubtful due to a foot injury – went on to say:

“We have seven games in 23 days and after the international duty the players that played a lot, or that have come back from injury like Danny Rose or Eric Dier, or [Erik] Lamela, who arrived yesterday, or [Heung-Min] Son from Asia, we need to be clever in how we prepare for the game and the decisions that we shall take to be ready to compete in Germany, Bournemouth, Liverpool”.

Francis Coquelin in back in contention for Arsenal’s clash with Swansea, though Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey will both remain on the sidelines. Arsene Wenger also confirmed that Mesut Ozil has assured him he is fully fit, allaying any fears of injury after the playmaker was withdrawn early for Germany in midweek.

Aaron Cresswell is in West Ham’s squad for the trip to Selhurst Park, Slaven Bilic has confirmed. The left-back has recovered from a knee injury and returned to full training along with Jonathan Calleri and Havard Nordtveit. Sam Byram has undergone surgery on his injured hamstring, whilst Gokhan Tore is out for four-to-six weeks with a thigh problem.

New Swansea boss Bob Bradley has confirmed that Fernando Llorente and Jefferson Montero are doubts for the trip to Arsenal. Nathan Dyer remains sidelined with an ankle problem.

Valon Behrami and Miguel Britos are expected to be available for Watford’s trip to Middlesbrough. Craig Cathcart is likely to miss out, though Isaac Success has recovered from a leg problem.

Mark Hughes remains hopeful that Joe Allen will recover from a hamstring problem in time for Stoke’s clash with Sunderland. Glen Johnson has been ruled out for three-to-four weeks with a thigh problem sustained in training.

Claudio Ranieri has given an early heads-up that he is likely to rotate his team over the next few days. Leicester head to Chelsea this weekend and also face a Champions League clash with FC Copenhagen in midweek.

Danny Drinkwater is available for the Foxes trio to Stamford Bridge after shrugging off a groin problem, though Nampalys Mendy misses out with an ankle complaint. When referring to those returning from internationals, Ranieri also went on to say “everybody is ok”, which means that Shinji Okazaki has recovered from an ankle knock sustained on duty for Japan.

Eddie Howe has conceded that “one or two” international players came back with knocks ahead of Bournemouth’s clash against Hull but refused to name names.

Scott Dann is still sidelined for Palace’s clash with West Ham due to a thigh problem. Alan Pardew expects him to be available for next week’s encounter with Leicester.

Salomon Rondon will be assessed after arriving back late from international duties with Venezuela ahead of West Brom’s match against Spurs.

Michael Dawson misses out for Hull tomorrow and will instead turn out for the reserves to improve his match fitness. Dieumerci Mbokani is sidelined after sustaining an injury whilst on international duty.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

Stuck with what to do with this lot....any advice?

    Courtois
    Stones - Shaw - McAuley
    Walcott - Firmino - Sterling - Bolasie - Capoue
    Aguero - Zlatan

    (Jaku - Friend - Pieters - Gray) 1FT - £0.5

Gray is the obvious one to go, but not enough money floating about to upgrade him to Deeney sadly!

    WC?!

Don't think your main priority is an Arsenal defender personaly. I think you should maybe upgrade Diomande or Capoue.

    Need some advice guys:

    Pickford Jaku

    Lovren Amat Holebas Kingsley Baines

    Sterling Firmino Sanchez Antonio Capoue

    Kun Deeney Lukaku

2 FT, 0 ITB. Been trying to get an arsenal or spurs defender in but not sure who to trade out. Thanks in advance !

Tricky. Only options are really Antonio downgrade to someone like Snodgrass / Puncheon OR Lukaku out for a midprice striker. But his fixtures are pretty lovely after this one.

Was looking at Antonio as well, but his alternatives (snodgrass, puncheon) aren't very convincing at all. I'd just be benching them half the time. Really struggling to see how I can fit an arsenal def.

Exactly the same front 8, same 2FT, same 0 itb 🙂

If I were you I would swap Baines for a 4.5 this week. Monitor Antonio and keep 2FT for next.

Any ideas for my transfer? Backline is:

      Foster, Pickford
      Williams, Walker, Holebas, Smith, Amat?

Yeah with the front 8 we have, it leaves our defence bare bones, really. I'm reading that Walker may possibly be rotated this week, so if you must, maybe go for a safer alternative? Else, seems pretty solid to me.

If I've got two decimal values (e.g. Team A has produced value X in 7/9 matches = 0.78 and Team B has produced value X in 4/9 matches = 0.44), how should I be combining those two decimals to give an decimal probability of there being Value X in a match between Team A and Team B?

        Multiply them together.

        So 0.78 X 0.44 = a 0.3432 chance of that happening or ever so slightly over 1 in 3.

Actually I didn't read it properly.

I thought it was 2 variables both happening.

In your example just add them together and devide by 2

So if you're looking at goals in a game for example then the chance would be 0.61.

But it depends what you're looking at really. You're more likely to compare goals scored versus goals conceded.

          • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Adding them together and dividing by 2 will just give the average, he needs probability of X happening...so has to by divided by value of X...If I understood it correctly

        2. Dre
          • Fantasy Football Scout Member
          • 14 Years
          9 years, 5 months ago

Yeah could've been a bit clearer really. There are two scenarios, comparing games where both teams have scored and then comparing games with over 2.5 goals.

So Team A have been involved in games with over 2.5 goals in 7/9 matches = 0.78 and Team B have been involved in games with over 2.5 goals in 4/9 matches = 0.44

So my thinking is that I add 0.78 and 0.44 together (1.22) and then divide by 2 to give 0.61?

          1. buffrey
            • 12 Years
            9 years, 5 months ago

Yep. In that example it's what I would do. It does differ as Moin says if you are looking for something to happen from either side.

Since each team contributes offensively AND defensively to there being more than 2.5 goals in a game, i don't think you can estimate anything by taking an average of the incidence so far

Yeah there are a lot of variables at play, but there's enough sample data to have an educated guess

        Karius / Jaku

In my opinion it first of all depends on whether you play him as a 4th or 5th midfielder. Not a lot of options in this price range, but if you need cash you can switch to a bench fodder 5th.

Personally I am captaining Hazard this week.

Look at what he has delivered in the context of the 3 home games Chelsea have played so far.

Leicester defence is nothing to fear especially with Kante now on the opposing side.

I am expecting a double figure haul even without the armband.

Id go Lovren to Holebas to rotate with Smith as you ave 3 "premium" defenders..VVD is a very very good pick and I think he will be the next one coming in for me.Good team though.

        Ighalo to Benteke

Yep, don't like Igalho. Needs too many chances to score a goal it seems and scores in patches.

Have an extra 0.6m and on WC.

          A. Holebas to PvA
          B. Koscielny to Bellerin
          C. Bank it.

Other defenders: Clyne, Amat and Smith.
          Not keen on Spurs defense.

          Chances of stones being rested?

Now kone a big doubt is it wise with a defence of

I booted Stones long ago. Citeh don't do cs. I'd keep Valencia and boot Baines who looks prone to injury and from what I can garner, appears the weak link in the EVR d.

Walker as a season keeper for me and use the others to rot around.

            My current team:
            Jakupovic - Foster
            Bellerin - Walker - Valencia - Holebas - Amat
Sanchez - Sterling (INJ) - Lallana (INJ) - Antonio - Capoue
            Aguero - Lukaku - Diomande

I have 1 FT & £0.5m in the bank. Any advice? Was thinking about maybe one of the following:
            - Lalana < Son
            - Lallana & Antonio < Coutinho & Chadli/Townsend
            - Lallana & Diomande < Snodgrass & Austin

            DDG, Jaku
Baines, Shaw, Evans, Stones, B. Smith
            Sanchez, Chadli, Zaha, Capoue, Højbjerg
            Kun, Ibra, Lukaku.

Thinking about doing Chadli&Smith --> Snoddy&PVA with my 2 FT.
Maybe even get in Allen or Cameron/Pieters for a hit.

fair point on the fixtures but I'd still probably keep Chadli because Zaha is such a frustrating player. never sure if he's even going to play let alone do anything. is Chadli on pens too?
