Our first members article of the week delves into the Gameweek 10 data. We take time to assess the recent ascent of Joe Allen and Eden Hazard and analyse the City and United attacks, before casting an eye over Bournemouth’s improving playmaker and Tottenham’s raiding left-back.

Wasn't convinced but am now. But not this week, although would be a handy time to bring him in if Theo is out mid-term.

Yep I did you Walcott >> Gundogan

Ramsey/Giroud returning I was just a little worried about his mins this GW.

With Walcott dropping in value and Gun going up the chances are I'd be able to buy him back once things are clear about the same price.

    Hi Everyone

1 FT and Need to replace Arnie with someone before the next GW. Not sure which move to do. Help a fellow out please 🙂

    1) Gundogan (missed the rise today ffs, bank the rest)
    2) Allen (bank the 2)
    3) Redmond/Tadic (for Hull fixture cover)
    4) Gylfi (punt)

        I have a attacking 8 of:

        Sanchez - Coutinho - Allen - Lallana - Redmond

        Aguero - Lukaku - Costa

I think that is fairly okey.

I do own Stones since week1 I think. Has been a headache. I think the time to move him is comming thou. He is awesome for next 3 weeks but after that a transfer to Cedric seems logical to me. Just my 2 cents.

It's a hamstring issue. Even if he does start he's a risk of getting subbed early if it acts up which = 1 point. Great player but a bit risky IMO over the next couple of weeks.

Well first I convinced myself that I needed to have Hazard and to get rid of my failed captain punt Deeney: Payet + Deeney to Hazard + Austin.
Then Arnie got suspended (but want to hold) and Walcott flagged so wanted to get Gundogan in for Capoue: Lloris + Capoue to Heaton + Gundogan.

I'm 20k but I think (hope) my team will be much the better for it over the next 4-5 GWs 🙂

All right! Good luck. I got Heaton myself to keep til the end. If you still have Austin, he rotates/compliments with Gundogan fabulously over the next 15 game weeks (if he starts of course.)

Cheers mate, Yep I knew keeping funds tied up in Lloris was a mistake so Heaton looks great.
Yes that rotation will be my plan and could be great if they both keep their places and keep fit of course 🙂
I know -12 is never a good thing but I'm content enough with my madness! Good Luck to you!!

    Morning!
Those of you with Sanchez and Walcott double-up, are you selling one of them for likes of e.g. Haz, 'pool mid, KDB? Walcott price is dropping, and will drop further if blanking against Spurs and United. But then three plum fixtures after that. Not an easy call. imho.

Doesnt matter what his previous score is. Considering his fixtures and injury history is not currently one of the better picks in midfield. In addition given his price he is easily replaceable I fully stand by my comment. Move him if it is for free and if you dont have bigger fish to fry.

    2. Pasqualinho
      • 16 Years
      9 years, 4 months ago

I'm holding for now. Price drops don't really matter, it's all profit at the moment and 2 drops is only worth 0.1, and if he keeps his place he's still a bargain. Ramsey/Giroud displacing him in the side would be the biggest threat.

      1. Pompel
        • 12 Years
        9 years, 4 months ago

Can't but thinking Liverpool double-up would be preferable over the next games. Would be Firmino coming in to partner Couthino for me, but would be for a hit. Not sure it's worth that.

        1. Pasqualinho
          • 16 Years
          9 years, 4 months ago

I think you're right. But the Liv mids worth getting are all half a million more expensive, and if you factor in the hits or even the intangible value of the transfer (or transfers if Walcott becomes a bandwagon again in a couple of weeks) then it becomes less clear-cut. Like you, I might have done it if I had a free, but other priorities like Valencia are, I think, more important.

      I'm tempted by Ibra.

Crazy I know, but swansea are rubbish and they don't have Heaton.

If Ibra gets those chances against Swansea he'll score 4 and have a couple assists for good measure.

      Nuts?

          I'll assess it after Swansea.

He's been frustrating to own, but I'm still confident of returns very soon. If he wasn't getting the chances he's had I'd be more concerned and probably would have shipped him by now.

I also think our performance against Burnley was very good. The only thing missing was the finish. I think we're actually starting to finally click, hence I think the goals will flow soon.

I think this is rubbish, and wonder if you actually watched the Burnley match?

United were excellent, and only denied a heavy win by one of the best goalkeeping performances in recent time.

            I wouldn't say excellent.

Ibra has been missing big chances for weeks now. Heaton was good, but Grant also thwarted him.

ManU are in trouble as they are geared towards feeding a striker that is in dire form. Lots of shots - all over the bar or into the goalkeepers arms.

Jonty you do know a team can have an excellent performance and not score right?

I'm not defending the finishing, as it's obvious this needs improvement regardless of Grant and Heaton's performance, but if you think United weren't excellent against Burnley then I have to assume you're letting your hate for United blur your assessment.

Even the stats prove it was an excellent performance.

They constantly hammered Burnley's goal and repeatedly created chance after chance through slick passing and movement. They also went down to 10 men.

It was overall an excellent performance that unfortunately didn't have the end product to match.

It would be nice to see some honest and unbiased feedback on here sometimes.

For example, I hate City also, but can at least admit when they've had an outstanding performance as they did against Barca.

I agree it's the most important aspect, but your taking a very narrow minded view if you think it's the only factor on which a team's form or performance can be measured.

Your of course entitled to your opinion.

                  Rhinos is spot on.

Its a game where the team with the most goals wins. If the whole game plan is built around feeding someone who can't score (most of Ibra's shots are over or straight at a keeper) then they cannot be called excellent.

It was a good goal keeping display but if Grant as well is denying Ibra then once again 'excellent' is not a word I'd use to describe Manchester United's attack.

I understand the club loyalty thing can cloud judgement at times and Heaton was great, but no goals at home to Stoke and Burnley is poor, very poor.

Also " if you think United weren't excellent against Burnley then I have to assume you're letting your hate for United blur your assessment."

I'm a Brighton fan. Sure I remember 1983, but Manchester United are well off my hate radar.

If anything I want Manchester United to do well, as a Fantasy manager.

When I first started playing this I loved having Ronaldo, Vidic, Nani, Rooney to choose from. For the last few seasons they've had not much to offer. Its good for the game to have a great Manchester United team.

Also as a football fan its also great to remember those wonderful Giggs inspired attacks.

Before saying things like that it may pay to step back and have a think before you type.

I was wrong to automatically assume that, but sometimes it's hard to have a balanced discussion on this site given the general United hate that gets pushed about, and the automatic box you get put into as a United supporter should you dare say anything positive about them.

I can assure you I'm as equally hard on my team as I am supportive, and have no problem calling things as I see them. 😉

I think that's one of the craziest things I've ever heard.

At this stage I'll agree to disagree and end the discussion as I think we view the game of football very differently. 😉

I'm looking at it purely from a fantasy perspective. For every Man Utd player you could mention there's a better, cheaper alternative. They were to a certain extent unlucky against Burnley and Stoke, granted.

That's fair enough, and I tend to agree with you.

My gripe is with some people saying United have been terrible and out of form. I agree they've had a few terrible games, but so have some other big teams. I think we've been a mixture of unlucky and thwarted by some outstanding goalkeeping, rather than just plain out of form.

A team who's 'out of form' doesn't create the number of chances or shots on goal that we've had. Our finishing has been poor, but our form has been slowly improving imo.

I think he'll start as he'll have the international break straight after to have a rest.

SWA is also the perfect opportunity to finally get on the score sheet, so I think Mou will want to give him that chance in hope it's the start of a run.

Just a couple of comments on the exchanges above.

One of the things I least like about FFS is the "who's right, who's wrong" polarisation. Often it seems that something can't be discussed without point-scoring and people defending their views or decisions or denigrating those of others.

DA is not my favourite poster (I often find him a bit of a troll to be honest) but I think he is right in this case. Zlatan was thwarted by one of those superb GK performances that happen occasionally. Shearer on MOTD said "on another day he could have scored 4" and that was what I saw too.

There is a difference between actual playing form and recent FPL points. They are not one and the same thing. I think that discrepancy is quite often at the root of pointless arguments where people are actually talking about 2 different things.

Personally I sold Aguero, brought Zlatan in and captained him. It cost me 25 points. Not my greatest result ever from one FT. But there it is, I backed the wrong horse last weekend as it turned out. Not the first time I have done so and it won't be the last either.

        Hahaha.

Calls me a troll because I don't agree with many of his arguments, lol.

Your a walking contradiction Ruth, and I don't need your meaningless support in this discussion considering your only doing so out of self interest to save face on the terrible decision you made to sell Aguero.

Next time you call me a troll because you can't handle an opposing argument, and don't have the balls to show your face around here after peddling terrible advice, you will be reported.

Lol, sells Aguero and gives other terrible advice, then comes back and says how he dislikes who was right or wrong discussions in an attempt to save face and deflect, lol.

    Hey all,

First post - trying to decide my future mid-field line up (probably point less with international break on the horizon). So would you rather:

    A) Sanchez, Hazard, Firmino, Gundo, Allen (left with 0.7 ITB)
    B) De Bruyne, Coutinho, Firmino, Walcott, Allen (left with 0.5 ITB)

    Current team is:
    Foster (Pickford)
    Stones, McAuley, Walker (Holebas, Amat)
    Sanchez, Coutinho, Firmino, Walcott, Allen
    Aguero, Costa (Stuani) 0ITB

Would appreciate any feedback. ATM considering doing Sanchez to De Bruyne for this weekend.

Wouldn't be happy with 5.9 forward personally. Do you have kun?
If so I'd save the big bucks you were going to spend on kdb to upgrade the cheap fwd

Yeah I have Aguero, good idea, potentially I could go for Gundogan or Hazard and get Costa or Wilson?

Struggling to see value in cheap forwards, and recommendations other than Wilson?

If you have Kun then maybe go Hazard and use the spare to het a better third striker (austin/wilson)

If you don't have Kun then yeah KDB plus bench fodder is fine

    Best Son replacement, please:

    1) Chadli
    2) Allen
    3) Milner
    4) Lallana
    5) Other?

Already have Gundogan. Have £7.7 to spend (unless taking a hit to moving Capoue out to someone cheaper). Wouldn't mind some leftover money to upgrade a defender of two.

Allen or Lallana due to fixtures being great

I had Redmond from GW1 to 8. Frustrating player, but tempted to go back. Jonty has him, too.
