Dugout Discussion – Bournemouth vs Southampton

The first of three Sunday afternoon fixtures gets underway at the Vitality Stadium as Bournemouth entertain Southampton in the 1.30pm kick-off.

Eddie Howe’s side have chalked up four clean sheets in eight matches in front of their own fans, with Charlie Daniels and Steve Cook heading into Gameweek 17 amongst the top seven scoring Fantasy Premier League defenders.

The out of position Adam Smith has also piqued our interest on the right flank, while Nathan Ake budget price tag made him the number one defender for transfers in ahead of the weekend.

Up against a Saints side with three goals in the last seven Gameweeks, Howe’s defence could plunder the points once again.

Bearing in mind that Southampton have served up four clean sheets in the previous five, goals may be hard to come by in this one.

Owners of Cedric Soares will be relieved as the right-back recovers from illness to return to Claude Puel’s starting XI.

        2 blanks to go along with his 2 no shows (his team keeping 2 CS without him), He flopped when I had him at the start of last season as well. Not a good FPL prospect.

          Disagree, I bought in Alonso last week for a hit, transferred out Collins and my substitute defenders scored 1/2.

          Wouldn't take a hit for the budget options though.

    Ok, I've got rid of Kane for ibra and kept hold of Costa.

    Can anyone that's kept/keeping Kane justify it? Obviously all will have their reasons but I can't get my head around why he's wanted - please don't say he's in form, got a few goals but he's looked piss poor.

      The Costa to ibra transfers are based on making value with rises and avoiding drops more than points
      Kane rose last night if I'm not wrong and ibra too
      A brace tonight will keep driving it up
      Plus you don't have to bench a big gun and you can make money on kane and reassess if he hits form
      I did not have much value tied up on costa got him for 10.6 so the ibra move made more sense to me
