Gameweek 18 comes to its conclusion this Wednesday evening as Southampton welcome Tottenham Hotspur to St Mary’s.

Claude Puel’s men seek a fourth successive clean sheet in front of their own supporters, with ever-present Virgil van Dijk (13% ownership) the most popular Saints player by some distance in Fantasy Premier League.

After netting twice in the 3-1 win at Bournemouth, Jay Rodriguez retains his role up front and is afforded another chance to play his way into our plans ahead of some fine upcoming fixtures.

Back-to-back home blanks against Hull and Burnley persuaded many to part company with Harry Kane last time out – the Spurs frontman was second only to Diego Costa for transfers out in Gameweek 18. Nonetheless, a big performance could have a big effect in the FPL standings – Kane is the sixth most captained player for this round of fixtures.

His Tottenham team-mate Christian Eriksen also earned significant sales after failing to deliver points against the Clarets, yet both have the underlying numbers to punish those who chose to look elsewhere.

    Over the next couple of weeks I was thinking Pickford > Foster/Heaton, Holebas > Ake, Lovren > Brunt/VVD. Sensible moves?

    I can't see a way of getting Alli/Eriksen without losing Sánchez/Hazard.

    Costa > Agüero another possibility but not sure.

    Looking at a WC later rather than sooner if I can manage.
    A couple of different directions I could take this team but not sure what's best.

    Heaton.
    Jones, Alonso, Holebas.
    Siggy, Sanchez, Lallana, Eriksen.
    Kane, Negredo, Ibra.

    Pickford, Amat, G Whelan, Walker.
    1ft, 0.4m.

    Option 1- Bring in Aguero for GW 20- Ake- Walker this week and Aguero- Kane next. (Do I dare go without Costa though).

    Option - Stick with Kane (perhaps foolishly some may say) at least for 1 more GW.

    Option 3- Costa in for Kane now and worry about Aguero later.

    Other??

    I do want Aguero now as he would be a differential and he is capable of scoring 3/4 against any team in the league. But, I can't bring myself to take players like Ibra or Costa out who are both scoring nicely. It's the #1 rule of FPL (for me) to not take players out when they're scoring. I took Lallana out while he was scoring and he's still scoring now.
    It's possible to fit Aguero, Ibra and Costa in the team, but it would just be impractical at that point because the rest of my team would be dreadful.

      He has 17.9% ownership so not a huge differential. The benefit to a non-owner is that if he does get a haul we aren't going to see gw averages jump by ten either. There's no urgent requirement to get him for me. I'm happy with my team for the next few and would need to wc.

        Don't look at that number, it's just teams who had him at the stat of the season and left their team. He is a differential trust me.

        I think I'm going to wait and see myself too. I could get him in for a -4 now but would have to take Ibra/Costa out. They're both on form so I don't see a reason to.

      The rule is that the player won't be sent off if making genuine attempt to play the ball while committing a foul that gives away a pen.

      I thought it was really harsh though and the foul took place outside the box

      Looking over the next 8 weeks..

      Under Antonio 6.8m I cant see many options I could have faith in (play 90minutes and have a chance of an attacking return).

      my thoughts...
      Zaha 5.8, I feel will go to AFCON and will require a trade otherwise would of been great.
      Snodgrass 5.6, do I really want faith in him breaking my defenders CS's? Headache. Fixtures go bad after 3 weeks.
      Allen 5.2, never trusted him as an FPL option in the past, wasnt he a CDM at Liverpool? Not sure where hes playing now
      Fer 5.0, looks out of favour so cant pick

      Ramirez 5.3, thought he was going to be decent option in GW1, didnt do much, is he worth 0.9m of attacking potential over De Roon?
      De Roon 4.4, more like a 2 point place holder with slight chance a CS point. Not expected for an attacking return but could happen.

      Phillips 5.5, good fixtures and not a bad option

      Rodriguez, OOP with long list of good fixtures.

      All other players looks out of favour of playing 90minutes

      As a person in same position, having to field 3, I can only really pick Phillips, Rodriguez, and Ill succumb to taking 0.9m over the attacking returns of Ramirez. Every other player looks like they will require a trade and thats not really on..

      In other questions, 1) Lukaku Bellerin and Ramirez or 2) Aguero Jones De Roon
