Gameweek 18 comes to its conclusion this Wednesday evening as Southampton welcome Tottenham Hotspur to St Mary’s.

Claude Puel’s men seek a fourth successive clean sheet in front of their own supporters, with ever-present Virgil van Dijk (13% ownership) the most popular Saints player by some distance in Fantasy Premier League.

After netting twice in the 3-1 win at Bournemouth, Jay Rodriguez retains his role up front and is afforded another chance to play his way into our plans ahead of some fine upcoming fixtures.

Back-to-back home blanks against Hull and Burnley persuaded many to part company with Harry Kane last time out – the Spurs frontman was second only to Diego Costa for transfers out in Gameweek 18. Nonetheless, a big performance could have a big effect in the FPL standings – Kane is the sixth most captained player for this round of fixtures.

His Tottenham team-mate Christian Eriksen also earned significant sales after failing to deliver points against the Clarets, yet both have the underlying numbers to punish those who chose to look elsewhere.

    It's amazing how fickle FPL makes you. Before last night I was ready to ditch Kane unless he did something. When he scored a goal that wasn't a penalty I was delighted, then Spurs got a penalty and a Harry Kane brace and 3bps flashed before front of my eyes, only for him to miss and end up on 4pts... Now he's out again. I think.

      I was all set to remove Kane and Walcott as part of a hit to get Aguero in, but I think I may leave it another week and keep him for the Watford game.

      Agreed - being on this site makes you trigger happy. I was on the brink of selling Kane, but the goal from open play convinced me to keep for Watford.

      - As for the penalty miss - woeful, but he couldn't repeat that if he tried lol.

    Think I'm bringing in Kun for gw20 Burnley...can do it without destroying my team for just a hit.

    If it is clear he's not worth the money I can downgrade to Costa.

    Downgrading will be much easier that realising that he is needed and having to upgrade from costa to Kun..

    Anyone agree..?

        Never mind, I did hazard 10pts, payet 7pts, eriksen 10pts to Sanchez 3 pts, siggy 2pts and walcott 0pts. For a -8!. And this decision led to me captaining Sanchez over Ibra costing a further 12 points.
        It seemed a good idea at the time, but I've got to admit it was foolish and the guys on here who told me I would be punished were right!

      I wouldn't have both Benteke and Defoe so if I were you I'd get Costa and Anichebe and Lallana for Walcott and Ake for Holebas.

    This decision is doing my head for Gw20 WC.

    A) Lukaku & Mkhitaryan

    B) Cabaye & Aguero

    A looks risky but could be gold as both have good fixtures and some form.
    B looks a bit safer but then it gives me two 5.5. mids in Phillips & Cabaye but not a weak defense and potentially 2 penalty takers?

    Also whichever option I choose is an easy swap to the other one both cost 18.4m.

    Would be really helpful if I get some insight.

      I'd always choose one with Aguero in it, I get it you already have Ibra. Phillips and Cabaye could also be good value. But I'd try to upgrade one of the two myself for at least 6.7M-7.6M mid.
