Dele Alli scores twice and Christian Eriksen delivers a pair of assists in Spurs’ 4-1 win at St Mary’s. Harry Kane breaks his scoring duck but proceeds to miss a second-half spot-kick as his transfer exodus builds momentum.

On the Rise

Dele Alli
Tottenham’s midfield differential added to last week’s goal against Burnley by grabbing a decisive double in a 4-1 Spurs canter at St Mary’s.

Alli now has three goals and as many assists in the last six Gameweeks, yet the recent exploits of Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen means he remains very much overlooked, sitting in just over 5.3% of FPL squads.

With Watford, West Brom, Sunderland and Middlesbrough in the upcoming six rounds of fixtures, the starlet has the schedule to maintain his recent return to form.

Christian Eriksen
A pair of assists, allied with two bonus points, helped the Dane to a fourth double-figure haul in the last six Gameweeks.

Eriksen’s underlying numbers continue to strengthen his claim for inclusion, with last night’s display taking him to joint-fourth in the FPL midfield standings alongside Liverpool’s Adam Lallana.

While the Kane exodus looks set to pick up pace, the 14%-owned Eriksen has done more than enough to stay part of our plans for the time being.

Danny Rose
Supplying the pass for the visitors’ fourth, Rose now has a goal and two assists to his name over the last three Gameweeks.

Sitting fourth amongst defenders in terms of points per match this season, Rose’s average of 5.0 is greater than Kyle Walker’s 4.4, yet, like Alli, he continues to remain overlooked and boast an ownership under 7%.

Walker’s subsequent suspension looks to be diverting transfer traffic to his team-mate – Rose is the fifth most transferred in defender ahead of Gameweek 19’s deadline tomorrow evening.

Virgil van Dijk
The Dutchman finally opened his account for the season by nodding an early opener in last night’s clash with Spurs.

With four clean sheets and eight bonus points in the six matches prior to last night, Van Dijk has risen to fifth in the FPL defender standings as the Saints prepare for a favourable run of fixtures.

As the only ever-present in Claude Puel’s rearguard, the 5.7-priced Van Dijk’s penchant for picking up bonus makes him the standout candidate, though with speculation mounting over his future, it remains to be seen whether he’ll be at St Mary’s by the time the January transfer window shuts.

In Decline

Harry Kane
If he hadn’t slipped when taking that second-half penalty, the FPL transfer market may well have had a very different complexion overnight.

Despite scoring for the first time in four Gameweeks, Kane’s fluffed spot-kick ultimately left him with just four points from last night’s fixture – a total of 10 points over the last four.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic racking up the returns and both Diego Costa and Sergio Aguero back from suspension, Kane continues to shed ownership at pace – only Theo Walcott has earned more transfers out this Gameweek.

Kyle Walker
Along with team-mate Jan Vertonghen, the Spurs right-back finally toppled off the Suspension Tightrope after earning his fifth yellow card of the campaign at St Mary’s.

Sitting in 38% of FPL squads, Walker – the most popular defender in the game – will now miss the Gameweek 19 visit to Vicarage Road on New Year’s Day.

Bearing in mind that Walker faces Chelsea and Man City in the subsequent three, his owners may now look for an exit route, with Antonio Conte’s resilient defence the obvious premium priced replacements.

Nathan Redmond
With Charlie Austin injured, Dusan Tadic out of favour and Sofiane Boufal heading to the Africa Cup of Nations next month, we were hoping that Redmond could offer a viable route into the Saints attack ahead of some fine fixtures.

The Saints’ next seven matches (WBA, eve, bur, LEI, swa, WHU, sun) look promising at both ends of the pitch but the former Norwich man’s dismissal rules him out of the Baggies encounter and continued the disastrous form that has served up a single assist in nine Gameweeks.

Replace Walker for another Chelsea defender, or play All out attack chip?

    De Gea (Jakupovic)
    Walker Alonso Daniels (Lenihan Kingsley)
Siggy Sanchez Mané Eriksen (De Roon)
    Llorente Defoe Ibra

Pondering what to do here. Looking at spurs, I could save Walker the transfer and just play all out attack, but when he's back, he's facing Chelsea and Man City within the coming weeks. Would also like to get Costa back somehow, but getting both costa and ibra would require a wild card, which I have none.

So, Walker to Azpilicueta, or do you suggest any other transfer? Got 1FT and 0.6 in the bank

    Some more context...

    Swansea defence uncertain
    Walker suspended
    Pickford injured
    Origi a big rotation risk
KDB a differential but not at the top of his game

    Grant - Pick
    Walker - Holebas - Brunt - Taylor - Amat
    Hazard - Sanchez - KDB - Eriksen - Capoue
    Ibra - Defoe - Origi

I think my immediate concerns are...

    Walker & Origi to...

    A) Baines & Tekkers
    B) Rose & Rondon
    C) Azpi & Carroll

Or I might just do Walker >

Not great but I have him and certainly not selling him before he plays Watford.

After that I may dump for Costa, but Chelsea have some tough games coming up and its entirely possible that Costa may well go through the same slump that Kane has undergone.

Thanks. Its down to the likelyhood of Holebas getting attacking returns vs. Evans getting CS. Neither likely. Lovren is my 5th defender, and I wont play him..

Good question. In hindsight Can was a mistake, but I saw it as a cheap way into L'pool's midfield, and on the back of his good returns 4 or 5 rounds ago. Since then, more pressing matters have kept me busy. Planning to upgrade but need ££

        1. I think Benteke will still score points. They have good fixtures coming up and if it's not Zaha then another will lump it up onto his head (Townsend, Cabaye, Puncheon etc)

        2. Probably Evans. I can see Spurs scoring a couple v Watford.

        3. I don't really like him as an option unless you are using him as a bench player. I guess he might score points v Sunderland.

      Why are managers ditching Origi?

I am not an Origi owner, but I don't understand why FPL managers are ditching him. In the last 6 matches he has played 387 minutes and scored 40 points (not returning a goal or assist in only one of those games). Compare this with Firmino. I understand the fears around gametime risk, but isn't it telling that Klopp subbed Origi and Lallana against Stoke after 70 minutes when Liverpool were 3-1 up (i.e. protecting them for the next match).

Origi feels good value at his price especially with Coutinho injured and Mane off to ACON. Sturridge will get cameos and cup games, but Klopp has shown he does not trust him. I expect to see the following for a while yet:

      Lallana Henderson Can
      Mane/Coutinho* Origi Firmino

      * Mane until he goes to ACON then Coutinho

That gives you at least another month of Origi goodness while Mane is off.

Can't afford Costa, Ibra and Origi? Cheaper than Benteke, similar to Rondon.

Of course. But that's the answer to your question. People are selling one of their forwards to buy a different one. Pretty simple

Really? If an overseas team or a mid-table PL came in for him I guarantee they would sell him. Klopp probably does not want to sell to a rival though.

I'm keeping origi for city but I expect sturridge will play against Sunderland. The returning coutinho and firmino's likely reinstallation in the middle will lead to a decrease in his returns I expect. And whilst firmino might have gone through a bad run, he could have had 4 in the last 2 games and looks incredibly dangerous again. Klopp has realised he needs to be more central to be effective, even in the absence of coutinho, and origi seems to be coming out wide a lot more to allow that

1ft, 0.4 in the bank. Sounds like Walcott is injured so will probably do Walcott tp Phillips, leaving 2.5 itb which can go towards getting Costa/Kun in soon. Sounds fine? Or should I get Lallana/Antonio instead?

      Heaton, Pickford
      Alonso, Cedric, Holebas, Evans, Amat
      Sanchez, Hazard, Mane, Walcott, Fletcher
      Ibra, Benteke, Origi

        Heaton (Foster)

        Jones Alonso Verts* (Pieters Friend)

        Pedro* Siggy Sanchez Eriksen (DeRoon)

        Anichebe Ibra Kane

2 suspensions so need to use my FT to get 11 strong players out. My subs are away to Chelsea and United. Got .8 ITB. I want to keep Pedro after his week this week but considering Lallana for him. Anything else you peeps can suggest?

        Price change confusion
On FPL statistics Costa price status is locked until 3/1/17.
On FFFix it predicts Costa price change tonight.
I thought given he is active in a match on 31/12/16 I'd have thought his price could change right now.
Anybody know any better - if he isn't changing until 3/1/17 in theory you can wait till after the transfer deadline of the Spurs game to get him in - i.e. play someone else for Spurs and not suffer the pain of price changes - is this right?

            He's locked.

              Thanks.
So the GW20 deadline is 2/1/17...
Can I keep Lukaku for now.
Then ransfer Lukaku - Costa on 2/1/17 after deadline to get Costa in for GW21 at current price of 10.7. The only risk being Costa injury against Spurs on 4/1/17??

            Yes sure.

Only reason he's predicted to rise on Fix is because he's rising so quickly that he would rise normally (i.e. from 0% to 100% today). Cos of price lock he obviously won't go past 0% on Fix so doesn't matter.

          Foster
          Azp - Jones - Cedric
          Siggy - Firmino - Sanchez - Zaha
