Dele Alli scores twice and Christian Eriksen delivers a pair of assists in Spurs’ 4-1 win at St Mary’s. Harry Kane breaks his scoring duck but proceeds to miss a second-half spot-kick as his transfer exodus builds momentum.

On the Rise

Dele Alli
Tottenham’s midfield differential added to last week’s goal against Burnley by grabbing a decisive double in a 4-1 Spurs canter at St Mary’s.

Alli now has three goals and as many assists in the last six Gameweeks, yet the recent exploits of Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen means he remains very much overlooked, sitting in just over 5.3% of FPL squads.

With Watford, West Brom, Sunderland and Middlesbrough in the upcoming six rounds of fixtures, the starlet has the schedule to maintain his recent return to form.

Christian Eriksen
A pair of assists, allied with two bonus points, helped the Dane to a fourth double-figure haul in the last six Gameweeks.

Eriksen’s underlying numbers continue to strengthen his claim for inclusion, with last night’s display taking him to joint-fourth in the FPL midfield standings alongside Liverpool’s Adam Lallana.

While the Kane exodus looks set to pick up pace, the 14%-owned Eriksen has done more than enough to stay part of our plans for the time being.

Danny Rose
Supplying the pass for the visitors’ fourth, Rose now has a goal and two assists to his name over the last three Gameweeks.

Sitting fourth amongst defenders in terms of points per match this season, Rose’s average of 5.0 is greater than Kyle Walker’s 4.4, yet, like Alli, he continues to remain overlooked and boast an ownership under 7%.

Walker’s subsequent suspension looks to be diverting transfer traffic to his team-mate – Rose is the fifth most transferred in defender ahead of Gameweek 19’s deadline tomorrow evening.

Virgil van Dijk
The Dutchman finally opened his account for the season by nodding an early opener in last night’s clash with Spurs.

With four clean sheets and eight bonus points in the six matches prior to last night, Van Dijk has risen to fifth in the FPL defender standings as the Saints prepare for a favourable run of fixtures.

As the only ever-present in Claude Puel’s rearguard, the 5.7-priced Van Dijk’s penchant for picking up bonus makes him the standout candidate, though with speculation mounting over his future, it remains to be seen whether he’ll be at St Mary’s by the time the January transfer window shuts.

In Decline

Harry Kane
If he hadn’t slipped when taking that second-half penalty, the FPL transfer market may well have had a very different complexion overnight.

Despite scoring for the first time in four Gameweeks, Kane’s fluffed spot-kick ultimately left him with just four points from last night’s fixture – a total of 10 points over the last four.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic racking up the returns and both Diego Costa and Sergio Aguero back from suspension, Kane continues to shed ownership at pace – only Theo Walcott has earned more transfers out this Gameweek.

Kyle Walker
Along with team-mate Jan Vertonghen, the Spurs right-back finally toppled off the Suspension Tightrope after earning his fifth yellow card of the campaign at St Mary’s.

Sitting in 38% of FPL squads, Walker – the most popular defender in the game – will now miss the Gameweek 19 visit to Vicarage Road on New Year’s Day.

Bearing in mind that Walker faces Chelsea and Man City in the subsequent three, his owners may now look for an exit route, with Antonio Conte’s resilient defence the obvious premium priced replacements.

Nathan Redmond
With Charlie Austin injured, Dusan Tadic out of favour and Sofiane Boufal heading to the Africa Cup of Nations next month, we were hoping that Redmond could offer a viable route into the Saints attack ahead of some fine fixtures.

The Saints’ next seven matches (WBA, eve, bur, LEI, swa, WHU, sun) look promising at both ends of the pitch but the former Norwich man’s dismissal rules him out of the Baggies encounter and continued the disastrous form that has served up a single assist in nine Gameweeks.

    Would you rather have.

    A) Antonio 4th mid, Cedric and Holebas, no money for upgrades
    B) Phillips 4th mid, with the potential to swap Cedric and Holebas to Van Dijk and Brunt in the near future?

...playing it safe won't work I'm afraid. Moved from 800k to 535k this week. Kun's low ownership does it for me and I'm tired of rivals with a 4m lower TV beating me with the likes of Zaha, Lalana, Philips...

I did the "responsible" thing and waited til after last night's game

If he'd scored the pen I would probably have left him in for Watford

As such, I ended up transferring to Costa as planned, but lost 0.1 by waiting. Kane didn't do enough to convince me...looked like a knackered old horse.

      Could've gone either way though

amazing how one transfer can have a domino effect on your team.
    domino 1
spent ages debating walker or rose, I always think rose is better fpl wise but thought more likely to get rested so chose walker.
since then walker scored 17 rose 24
    walker now suspended.
    domino 2
As a result of this pick it meant I was 0-2 short of costa -ibra so took hit. for some reason I chose eriksen- Walcott , net result -12, with only 2 points off bench.
    domino 3
so now have poor defence this week, have Walcott injured and stuck with kane.
likely another hit somewhere = -4
so from a simple walker or rose decision it has cost me 23 points so far.

and now I want a pizza for some reason

    Anything to do here?:

    Foster

    Alonso / Jones / Cedric

    Walcott / Sigurdsson / Hazard / Sanchez

    Costa / Ibrahimovic / Carroll

(bench: Pickford, McAuley / Amat / Leko)

    £1.5m itb, 1FT

Any help appreciated. After picking the wrong captain every week and a bad error in getting Walcott in for Alli last week I have been slippery slip sliding down from 200k to 600k OR in the last 5 weeks. Very sad times, but persistence wins in this game.

Natty Ake for Pieters -4? Good move or not, I feel Ake's goal threat + clean sheet potential with some of Bournemouth's fixtures over the next 4-5 weeks justifies it.
