Less than 48-hours after the end of the previous round of fixtures, the festive schedule serves up a Friday evening “treat” as Gameweek 19 gets underway at the KCOM Staidum.

Hull City’s home form could barely be more encouraging for Everton. The only side yet to chalk up a clean sheet in front of their own supporters, the Tigers also boast the joint-worst home scoring record, netting just nine times in as many matches.

Owned by 5% of Fantasy Premier League managers, Robert Snodgrass is clearly the man most likely to do the damage – the Scot has already served up three double-figure hauls at the KCOM.

Wins against Arsenal and Leicester in the last three have reignited Fantasy interest in Ronald Koeman’s men as the Toffees looks to take advantage of some fine winter fixtures.

With three goals in the last four Gameweeks, Romelu Lukaku has proven a more popular transfer target than Sergio Aguero this week, with over 50,000 FPL managers drafting in the big Belgian ahead of tonight’s deadline.

Koeman moves back to a four-man defence this evening after earning just a fourth clean sheet of the season at Leicester City with a three-man backline. Disappointingly, that sees the 4.0 priced Mason Holgate drop the bench and both Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines reverting to traditional full-back roles.

No. I don't see how it can particularly backfire. I decided to do my Kun move for a hit last gw and brought Baines in. Luckily that hit seems to have paid off.

    Ibra Kane Origi

      See what happens with Siggy.
I'd say ditch Lovren and Origi after sun.

If you're team goes well I'd bank the FT and maybe take a -4 the following GW sorting out Lovren, Origi and Siggy

Yeah, Holebas is a pain soon. Having Evans & Fletcher is annoying with Brunt, WBA mid and Rondon sharing 1 spot at best.

I can see that being a bother...Evans shouldn't be way off Brunt in terms of points though the odd attacking return of course...and Phillips and Rondon is a toss up. Think a single WBA attacker should be okay.

Getting Foster in - not convinced with Heaton away from home.

wouldn't be too radical, too much time and possible real-life transfers before the subsequent game week.

I would go one of 2 ways...

      Save a transfer and then..

Origi & Siggy > Carroll & Coutinho (if possible).

Thanks! Too bad my rank kinda sucks right now (thanks in part to captaining Kane for his 3 three blanks in a row here recently), but plenty of time to make that up. I have taken a lot of hits this year, as I usually do, but to some extent it was strategic to increase my team value.

Thanks, team value was the difference between Ozil and Alexis in my DGW WC last year and cost me a lot of points, I'm hoping to have a crazy DGW side.

How many points more than Mesut does Alexis score in a DGW? 10? 12? If you are very lucky.

And how many hits did you take to get that difference in TV?

The whole concept is nonsensical. TV matters but it only slightly matters. Having a high TV is no end in itself.

I think some managers chase it because it is easy to achieve and then comfort yourself with. But that Emperor has no clothes, sorry.

True. Not the deepest in the cover department. Hard to get bench in order and roll out a strong starting 11 for my liking. It's a struggle!

        8 years, 11 months ago

I like it. Figured I would give Siggy at least one more game. Probably two given the generosity of the fixtures. But you make a strong case where you're coming from. Could maybe also think about getting in VvD, who I painfully just got out this week and he finally scores. They have a nice run Southampton.

Wanted to get in Ibra, so VvD was a fall guy. At least I captained Ibra and got a cool 30 out of it.

    a) Aguero + Philips + Pieters
    vs
    b) Costa + Siggy + Brunt

For some reason b just seems better because of Brunt, I feel like not having Brunt will kill my chances of moving into the 75k-50k region.

    1. Sweetboi
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 11 months ago

A for me, Ake/Chambers better than Pieters though imo.

      1. FAT PANDA
        • 8 Years
        8 years, 11 months ago

Pieters is already in my side and I have Francis, not looking to shift him atm. Yeah A does seem good also, it really is a difficult decision! I guess Phillips probably has a lot more points potential than Siggy for the next few game weeks when fixtures are taken into consideration.

    2. Demel
      • 14 Years
      8 years, 11 months ago

Not having Brunt won't stop you climbing rank. It is getting the Aguero/Costa decision right that will make the difference.

B is definitely better balanced. But as an Aguero owner I swing to A.

I am not convinced that he is an upgrade on Defoe. I think he is very similar. A good option (if not now on pens) but not an uograde.

I also prefer Eriksen and soon Coutinho to Walcott.

Nice team on the whole. Guess Zaha and Anichebe are the prime contenders for some moves.

Certainly are! Zaha plays Swansea this week and then he is gone. With Anichebe, I can't think of another striker with a low value that will earn me more points than Anichebe. If you have any suggestions, I am all ears.

      Grant Mannone
      Alonso Cahill Cedric Brunt Amat
      Sanchez Eriksen Lallana Sterling Phillips
      Ibra Costa Origi/Rondon

do you think this team can match/outscore a Kobra team + De Roon(5th) + only one chelsea defender with Ake as 4th ?

my thought too..more flexibility if WBA triple up isn't shown to be good with those fixtures or any of Lallana/Eriksen/Sterling/Origi is facing doubt/difficult opponent given that they have mixed fixtures

      Choose one:
      2FT, 0.1 ITB

      A. Taylor>Nyom
      B. Taylor, Siggy>Brunt, Phillips
      C. Siggy, Ibra>Aguero, Ibra

Actually just asking for A if I should rush that as Nyom rising will leave me out of options.

So I just did siggy and kane to aguero and phillips for 2ft

If not Costa, should be Aguero. Siggy isn't a good choice anymore. Phillips has some decent fixtures lined up as well.

A bit early TBH but worth taking the risk. Yes, cap him since you own him.

I'm planning to do Siggy + Kane to Stanislas + Kun after tonight's games. Want Phillips too but I need some cash to also get Costa next week.

0.1 itb, 1 FT, Thinking of getting Kun AND Costa.

Foster, Pickford (the latter needs replacement but I won't rush as Foster's fixtures are turning)
Ake, PVA, VVD, Amat, Holebas (want Chelsea cover but 4 of my current ones have attacking threats)
      Sanchez, Hazard, Firmino, Snoddy, Siggy
      Kane, Ibra, Anichebe

Siggy + Kane to Stanislas + Kun this week (-4)
next Hazard + Anichebe to De Roon + Costa (-4)

Of course matches this weekend may change the outlook but those routes are good?

First one's good with Phillips instead of Stanislas could be better.

You don't have to force the second one to have the Costa Ibra Aguero lineup.

Thanks mate! Much appreciated. I do want Phillips a lot with his fixtures but I won't be able to do the second one with him. Let me see tonight's games to check:
          (1) Hazard vs Costa
          (2) If Stanislas is fit and back to his best
          (3) Phillips' stock

If Costa is firing I'll be forced to do 2 though.

not sure I like a -4 where you are trading Hazard for Costa...

also leaving a midfield of Sanchez Firmino Snodgrass Stanislas De Roon.... after -8....

        nope for me

Losing your mind and your team structure for Costa Ibra Kun is not worth it. Pick two of them you think will do the best based on form and fixtures.

I have Holgate. Do we think that after tonight, Koeman will stick to 3 at the back? If so, do you think he will prefer Holgate over Jagielka in the long-term?

He could do three at the back and still leave Holgate on the bench. For planning purposes, I think you need need to treat him as a non-playing 4.0 (but with upside potential). If you get him, no crying if he never plays another minute this season.

Hmmm, feels way too risky for an 8 pointer to be bringing in Snoddy & Stanislas.

Will go against the grain here, but personally I would go:

Costa & Siggy -> Aguero & x for a 4 pointer (how much would you have left for x here?)

But I really do want the 3 of them
Costa is way more consistent, his weekly hauls of 6-8 points are great!

          It's called discussion.
From which arises consensus of a kind. From which you can form better judgements.
Also some quality advice to be had on here from people who know what they are talking about.
A nice sounding board for your own ideas
A place to feel part of a community with people who share the same mental hobby as you
          Anything else?

One of the main points of the forum is to discuss transfers, moves and bounce ideas off each other, it's like an impromptu board meeting, you sit round a table and discuss options. People can also point out when your idea is dunce and stop you making costly mistakes. Two heads are better than one and we are all better off for it. I'd like to think I am giving pretty sound advice/help to pay back the great advice/help I am being given. Even the most sensible of us can fall victim to unnecessary risks at times and it helps to run things by others in order to better your chances.

Narrowed it down to 2 moves....which do you think looks best?

        A) Payet & IBRA -> Wally/Lallana & Kun (-4)
        B) Payet, HAZ & CARROLL -> Wally/Lallana, Philips & Kun (-8)

        Cech
        Valencia, Stones, Nyom
        Sanchez, Haz, Payet, Sterling
        Ibra, Benteke, Carroll

        Pickford, Capoue, Kone, Amat
        Bank 0.2m, 1FT

I wouldn't touch Ibra. Maybe Sterling and Payet downgrades to get Kun assuming he's back to his best

That only leaves 10.2m for my 3rd and 4th mids, which feels pretty light. I'm ok with losing Hazard given the fixtures and his recent returns.

tot, lei, HUL, liv, ARS, bur

Other than HUL, the rest aren't exactly ripe for big returns.

2 hits r a lot- but B makes sense in one regard: Chelsea and West Ham going on Bad run of fixtures, Arsenal, West Brom and Man U. going on a Good run

          B. For me with Lallana, has shown the potential to to get hauls, where as Walcott doesn't assist much and usually just gets the one goal, can't get rid of Ibra in this kind of form, Payet has been a disappointment especially given the fixtures and time to take your money and run r.e Carroll now he's scored, Hazard would be a sacrifice to get Aguero.

Was Walker>Ake a good FT giving me Kane>Kun money? Have a feeling Walker was/is a season keeper

Have to make a sacrifice somewhere and it's defo better doing that in defence rather than attack....more value to be had in the back line IMHO if you can pick up the good attacking options or budget friendly players onto a run of clean sheets

Depends - u may get Walker back if one of ur better mids or defenders gets out of form; I have 3 Chelsea players- they r going on a tough run of fixtures

As a Liverpool fan I'm so happy the game against City kicks off at 12 am our time. What a NY treat! A Firmino goal will be icing on the cake.

Rate this Kun team for me lads. Haven't pulled the trigger just yet with my 2FT but will look like this:

        Heaton / Pickford
        Alonso - Ake - Pieters - Holebas - Amat
        Hazard - Sanchez - Lallana - Phillips - Fletcher
        Kun - Ibra - Benteke

Very nice. I'm looking at the same front 7 for next week but I'll be taking a -8 to get it. And your defence is better than mine. Damn.

          Very nice front 7.
On the defence I know this is a risky suggestion. But I would combine Pieters and Holebas and get a nailed 5.4 to go with Alonso and Ake or else just change Pieters for Jones.

No money left after these moves so I'm thinking of just bringing in Nyom or a MID defender for Pieters. I think Holebas might be worth hanging on to

Whats so special about Costa any Chelsea defender covers him
Aguero on the other hand is why many of us are having trouble sleeping

Plus I'd imagine he'll still be a differential by next GW as not many willing to ditch Costa and Ibra

Ya he has to be a huge diff now the 17% or so that were left owning him after the ban is a good gauge of how many dead teams are out there

He is a huge risk/reward player now any move either way is a season definer

Azpilicueta (the top scoring Chelsea defender) 95
            Costa 115.

            No Chelsea defender covers him.
If Aguero is the reason you're losing sleep, I envy you your life.

I think i could squeeze more than 10 points out of the £5m or so i would have in change

I agree, it is a factor. But my choice, and that of many others I suspect, going forwards, is to have Costa and at least one Chelsea defender. Hazard is considerably more droppable than either of those.

I have Costa and Ibra; working in Aguero gradually. Will move out pricey mid that gets out of form in the next couple days to get him. Costa is too strong not to have imo
