Next this Saturday, we catch up on the member’s area statistics over the last three rounds of fixtures with our usual post-Gameweek article.

We assess the lay of the land at Arsenal as a result of Olivier Giroud’s first-team return before analysing Tottenham’s man of the moment and Manchester United’s pair of form players.

West Ham and Everton also play a part in our thinking ahead of some fine upcoming fixtures.

An abject performance from Andy Caroll.
I was at the game last night and there was one thing that really stood out for me, and that was Carolls positioning and movement; or there lack of.

For me, the conceding of 5 goals wasn't the main issue, West Ham's attack just isn't up to scratch. Many say attack is the best form of defence, well in that case it's no wonder they were breached on so many occasions.
Although West Ham did carve out the occasional opportunity (open goal straight to the keeper springs to mind) but they were few and far between and the cutting edge was completely missing. They seemed completely out of ideas and moved the ball painfully slowly. Nobody wanted to make any runs in to the box which led to Aaron Cresswell looking like he wanted to pull his hair out as he was very good on the wing. Anything whipped in was just a waste of time and was simply gobbled up by the defence.
This toothless, stagnant, uninspired approach was epitomised by Caroll's forlorn figure who by all accounts was out for a walk on the country hills somewhere. He had moments of leadership, shouting for the ball to be spread out left or right (usually left for Cresswlell) and when his commands were met and an opportunity was in the making he would simply waltz towards the penalty area as if gusto and drive had gone out of fashion like men with ponytails. At time he would almost try to find a defender so that they could mark him more easily. Often he was so deep the midfield would be 20 yards ahead of him. When he was in front of the midfield he'd remain virtually stationary, with not a thought to create space or run in behind to give anyone something to aim for. Less of a target man, more of an invisible man, one who mysteriously managed to get through 58 minutes without getting his boots dirty.
Maybe that's it, has the kit man quit? Do the players have to do there own washing now? Well not Andy, his boots will be nice and shiny for Palace on Saturday, if he's let anywhere near the pitch that is.

Good bite in the ass for those still holding
West ham in general looking forlorn and desperately lost .
They just need 3 good games to undo this though since they have the quality . Chemistry is completely missing as you said.

They have the quality but no drive. But I have to tell you, when Payet came on, oh dear Lord he is very special. Different level entirely.

WBA going out is handy for those that have 3x of their players. They are guaranteed to not blank in gw26 (league cup semis) and gw30 (FA cup qf's) now, as Everton are also out. Amazing run of fixtures after Spurs away in that whole time too.

True. Immediately after the gw28 blank, Arsenal home then United away follow. Maybe gw28 is the time to sell. Especially if City are still in the FA cup.

      Wingback only.
Only reason conte is looking at him coming back , since he says no cover there.

if conte recalls him I guess he will be getting ample playing time at CB or wing back positions

      maybe Azpi right wing back
      moses in bench
      and Ake taking Azpi position

there is no point recalling him if he is not going to play
      will hinder his development

Just had a read through of those links you posted. I didn't realise he played for Watford all last season at lb . I never buy their players. I understand the Alonso talk though cause I don't think he's all that myself. We'll just have to wait and see I suppose.

Yeh maybe, although as others have said that might be damaging to him as a player as he seems to have settled in at Bournemouth well. If he does move back ill probably have to get rid, unless he should somehow nail down a starting spot (seems unlikely).

Possibility Jaku might be back for Hull now the new guy's here...might fill your GK slot

Ake something of an uncertainty now...would look elsewhere.

Hazard...nah...no form, not worth the money. Downgrade to Lallana or Coutinho maybe.

Use money to get Costa instead of Giroud?

I like the option of Hazard as a captain choice which I don't think Costa provides so much. Also bought @ 9.9.

That said, Coutinho certainly a consideration like.

        Could go Valencia -> Luiz.

No pool attack is quite risky, although you're probably going to lose one of the spurs mids to get Coutinho. I'd suggest getting boro defence or Baines in there. Otherwise it's good.

With Everton having the fixtures and no blanks does this edge out Baines at he very top of the defenders list along with Brunt?
Has he taken preference or will he slowly climb over Alonso in preference ?

What is going on with Alonso, is he no longer nailed? May do Alonso > Baines if so.

Wasn't he carrying a little bit of an injury going into the Spurs game? Reckon he lasted as long as he could before getting hooked.

      no
      not scoring enough

      only van dijk worth considering
yoshida at 4.2 may be another option

too many mids performing well for same price

Umm.. Yeah, they are not scoring much.

I thought I found the good way to be different. 🙁

They have had the fixtures since Cedric became a major bandwagon here
They are in horrible scoring form
Wouldn't bet on them to find the net over Hull city right now .
Staying away but again if you catch a sudden hot streak , you might well be holding a killer differential there.
Can only go hot or cold.

I see many on WC picking 2 keepers from the same team. It is not a good idea considering some of the teams will have blank GWs later in the season. A lot of cheapies around and finding a few amount of cash is not so difficult with good TVs for most.

I still wonder what made them price him .5 less than a dozen other bench warming defensive mids

    Gw26 league cup final
    Gw28 FA cup QF's
    Gw34 FA cup SF's

West Ham and Everton don't blank in any games
Bournemouth don't blank in gw26 and gw28. Will only blank in gw34 if Boro get to SF's
West Brom don't blank in gw 26 and gw28. Will blank in gw34 if City get to SF's.

I thought when i got Alonso that he was a season keeper now with a potential Ake return and a possible rotation risk on the cards i am not so sure about his future in my squad

Also question marks about Snodgrass and spot kicks now that Hernandez is back in the picture

Things don't stay the same for long in this game you got to love it

      What? Alonso and rotation risk?

They don't actually have many competitions to play.

Still a doubt but apparently he looks to give Alonso competition according to a few discussions or conclusions here
