Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas get amongst the goals as Everton dismantle Manchester City to leap onto our Fantasy radars ahead of a kind upcoming schedule. As Sergio Aguero’s stock continues to plummet under Pep Guardiola, Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic leaves it late but delivers yet again as Jose Mourinho’s men earn a draw with Liverpool. Here’s the Stock Check following Sunday’s pair of encounters…

On The Rise

Romelu Lukaku
It’s five goals and an assist in the last seven Gameweeks for the Everton forward who seems to have rediscovered a degree of consistency ahead of some very favourable fixtures.

With injury concerns surrounding Diego Costa and Olivier Giroud for our three-man frontlines, Lukaku strengthened his case for inclusion by firing the opener at home to City in today’s early encounter at Goodison Park.

Owned by over 24% of Fantasy Premier League managers, the Toffees frontman is looking difficult to ignore at a price of 9.5 right now.

Over 14,000 FPL managers have already snapped him up since yesterday’s deadline as the Merseysiders prepare to face Crystal Palace, Stoke, Bournemouth, Middlesbrough and Sunderland in the upcoming five Gameweeks.

Kevin Mirallas, Ross Barkley
The Everton midfield pair have also upped their output in recent weeks.

An assist for Lukaku’s effort, followed by an early second-half strike, means Mirallas now has two goals and a pair assists in the last four matches. Given that he had failed to produce any attacking points between Gameweek 5-17, it’s something of an understatement to say that this comes as a major improvement.

Sitting in a mere 1.8% of FPL squads, the Belgian has dropped from a starting price of 6.5 to 6.0 this season.

Having now started four successive matches under Ronald Koeman, Mirallas looks to have finally established himself as a regular and is shaping up to be an enticing differential ahead of those aforementioned fixtures.

Barkley’s pair of assists means he has now supplied a goal and four assists in the last six Gameweeks, compared with two goals and a single assist in the opening 15 rounds of matches.

Similar to Mirallas, he’s dropped 0.5 in price (from 7.5 to 7.0) since the start of the campaign and, with an ownership less than 6%, he is now another differential to consider.

Joel Robles
The Spaniard seems to be something of a lucky charm for Everton between the posts.

The Merseysiders have now produced four clean sheets in the five league matches that Robles has started this term, compared with three shutouts over the 16 fixtures with Maarten Stekelenburg in the first XI.

Priced at 4.7 and boasting a mere 0.3% ownership, Robles looks to have barged his way past the Dutchman in Koeman’s plans and that Everton schedule may well turn a few heads for those currently eyeing up an early wildcard.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic
The veteran United strike came to the rescue yet again to maintain his stunning recent form with a late leveller against Liverpool.

Now top in the FPL forward rankings and second only to Alexis Sanchez overall, Ibrahimovic’s strike means he has scored or assisted in nine of his last 10 league outings.

With trips to Hull City and Leicester City, allied with home clashes against Hull City, Watford and Bournemouth in the next six Gameweeks, it’s difficult to look beyond the Swede as the one “must have” option up front. His consistency continues to rack up the points at a time when other big-hitters have faltered.

James Milner
The Liverpool man continues to profit from penalty duties, with today’s strike at Old Trafford marking his sixth of the season.

Put into perspective, only one other player – Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe, with five – has converted more than three spot-kicks in 2016/17.

Jurgen Klopp’s decision to utilise Milner as a left-back has understandably deterred most from investing, given that he’s listed as a midfielder in FPL.

The 4%-owned summer signing from City is now up to second in terms of value behind Adam Lallana in the Liverpool midfield and has climbed above Philippe Coutinho for overall points.

If, as expected, he’s reclassified as a defender in FPL next season, Milner may well be one of the first names in our pre-season squads should Klopp opt against bringing in another left-back.

In Decline

Sergio Aguero
Today’s failure at Goodison means that the City striker has notched just once in his last four league appearances.

Given that he also missed four of the last eight Gameweeks due to suspension, Aguero’s standing as “essential” for our starting XIs has all but vanished this season.

With just a single attempt on target against the Toffees, the Argentine shows no sign of shedding the inconsistency that continues to blight his displays under Pep Guardiola.

Having recently lost spot-kick duties to Yaya Toure, Aguero’s appeal is on the wane again as City now prepare to host an in-form Tottenham.

Whereas Harry Kane has earned in excess of 52,000 new owners prior to their head-to-head, only 3,000+ have taken the plunge on the out-of-sorts South American, with over 6,000 choosing to show him the exit door instead.

Daniel Sturridge
There was no real surprise to see the Liverpool striker named amongst the substitutes after an insipid midweek showing at Southampton in the EFL Cup.

Klopp instead opted for Divock Origi to lead the line at Old Trafford before the introduction of fit-again Philippe Coutinho saw Roberto Firmino shift back into a “false nine” role for the remaining half hour.

Despite the absence of Sadio Mane, Sturridge ultimately warmed the bench from start to finish, and after a brief run of two successive starts in all competitions, he looks to have quickly tumbled back down the pecking order once again.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Defense of (Alonso Jones, Evans, Holebas, Amat)
I'm annoyingly 0.1 short for Holebas to Baines 🙁
    What seems better of;
    a/ Holebas & Pickford ➡ Baines & Jaku -4
    b/ Jones ➡ Baines
    c/ Evans & Holebas ➡ Friend & Baines -4

A for me. Jaku is rising and in form. Very good second keeper for dgw's (great fix).
Evans good cs potential as you said great fixtures upcoming.
Jones playing really solid. Mourinho prefers him over Rojo due to my knowledge.
Getting the value up (jaku/baines) and getting rid of weakest links.

Tottenham have been a big source of fantasy points this season: Rose, Walker, Alli, Eriksen, Kane...

The sum total of my Tottenham player ownership this season is 7 weeks of Kane during which he racked up 28 points. I can't even begin to explain why I haven't had more Tottenham players in my team!

Not even when he was 5.5 or whatever? I got him in early that year and benched him for a few points hauls but he still did well for me. I think that's part of the problem now - I only want to own him if he's dirt cheap despite him being worth a lot more.

I try to vote for the best option - that's the point of the poll. I think the majority vote for who they're actually going to captain though which means it's badly skewed by ownership. Shame.

Yeh, it suddenly occurred to me that this would be the case. Usually I would have all the contenders and so vote on who I will actually captain, however this week I don't have Hazard [yet, at least] but think he is a strong contender.

I don't tend to focus on ML ranks so I don't use tactics like this, I just try to focus on who I think will get most points. I certainly wouldn't lose Hazard this week given the fixture, Mkhitaryan and Lallana I'm not so sure about.

Those are my questions. My decision to keep Hazard and Lallana is supported by that: Chelsea is going for the title so they have to play well otherwise they will lose it (thats kinda obvious/dumb) and Coutinho is back into bussines which means Liverpool may again be high scoring team.
On the other hand Spurs should be considered as a title contenders and they are in form. Im confused again... >

Hazard Sanchez Mkhitaryan Jrod De Roon
    Aguero Ibra Barnes

About 20 weeks of yo-yoing between 100k and 200k and i'm quite clueless. Don't necessarily trust my own instinct as i've recently let go of Alli, Eriksen and Kane before they all exploded. Have 1FT and 0.3M itb.

    Thinking of Aguero + Jrod -> Firmino/Coutinho + Lukaku/Kane for a hit.
(If i go Kane, i have to go for Cout)

Week after, thinking of Haz -> Alli and Evans -> Rose for a hit.

    Thoughts?

I'd go for Kane/Coutinho my self. Week after also looks like a good plan. Depends on how Hazard responds.

Mannone xxx might be an issue in a few weeks but not worth worrying about currently I guess.

Aguero is a problem if he's forcing you to play 2 of Rodriguez, De Roon and Barnes every week. I'd go for Lukaku and Coutinho personally but as above, I've got a blind spot with Tottenham!

Sound transfers, but I think Aguero can stay one GW. But if wanting to ditch Kun this GW, I'd get Lukaku+Couthino, and then downgrade Hazard to fit in Kane for Barnes next GW - if you have the funds.

    Foster

I've got exact funds for Giroud > Lukaku

True, but Theo is out for this weekend too according to the last we heard. Still a risk though, especially if only 80% fit or something.

One positive is that Wenger played him through injury, even though he asked to be subbed, so it suggests he sees him as pretty important at the moment.

In a perfect world, Conte will come out early this week and say that Costa will no longer be playing for Chelsea, or that they've buried the hatchet and he willl 100% start. In reality, he will probably say on Friday "we will see with Diego, he trained a bit this week"

        D. Giroud >> Lukaku (if Giroud injured)

Wouldn't trust Costa at the moment with all these transfer discussions ongoing.

      Hi,

      two issues in my team:

Verthongen - any update on the injury? I'd rather keep him as i don't see a good replacement atm.
Wilson - why didn't he start the game? Is Afobe now nailed? Transfer or keep him?

Vert scored 3 bp this season correct me if im wrong. Baines have 13 in less game time. Yup he is not from Spurs, but points wise Ver > Baines is a thing you should consider
Wilson was a big ?? for a while. Dont try to rely on him as a 3rd playing striker.

I've got Williams so don't want to double on Everton. I went for cheap def spending elsewhere. I think that Vert is good value for money but with the injury and bad fixture happy to transfer him.

In that case i've got 1.4 itb + Vert/Wilson for Alonso + 6.7 Forward. Any suggestions? I can't see anyone worth it.
