A day for differentials.

Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino and West Bromwich Albion’s Gareth McAuley are the only two players with more than 10% ownership to hit double-digits.

Firmino was teetering on the edge prior to the today’s deadline – owned by just over 456,000 FPL managers or 10.6% – the Brazilian had shed 340,000 since Gameweek 16.

Such losses are understandable, sparked by a dismal run of paltry returns. A single goal over ten barren Gameweeks – his strike in a 4-1 victory over Stoke City – did little to stem a tide of rejection. With Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana thriving, Firmino owners were switching allegiance or looking elsewhere as rival heavy-hitters delivered.

Today’s 14-points will reverse matters, for now at least. That fifth double-figure haul for Firmino ironically arrived on a day that saw Philippe Coutinho make a return to the Liverpool starting line-up. Withdrawn on 65 minutes, his comeback was curtailed as he gave way to allow his compatriot to take centre-stage.

While his two goals were not enough to save Liverpool from defeat, Firmino’s own Fantasy stock is revived, just as thousands were making or considering the move for his Brazilian team-mate.

But Coutinho’s early withdrawal has already proved enough to give some early adopters the jitters. Meanwhile, after suffering a third successive blank, Lallana has now returned just a single goal and an assist in six starts.

Based on early transfer activity, both are facing ownership losses over the extended gap to Gameweek 23, with this shifting affection from one Liverpool asset to another typical of behaviour this season.

Two prolonged spells of form from Coutinho’s and Lallana have come close to resolving the argument but, in truth, we look unlikely to ever settle on one of Klopp’s midfield as a dependable “solution”.

Perhaps the key question should be whether we should overlook them altogether.

Two draws and a defeat has stalled the Liverpool title bid, while over the last four Gameweeks, their attacking numbers are settled in mid-table. They face Chelsea next.

Sadio Mane’s absence appears to be a key factor and, arguably, until his return, we should reserve judgement, regardless of Firmino’s flurry.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Would wait until the end of the week though, if they beat Saints in the capital one cup, they will have a blank gw 26. And they might also have a blank gw 28. So not worth it if they will skip 2 games so close to each other though

    a.) Alli - Barkley - Lukaku (0.8 itb)
    b.) Kane - Barkley - Lallana (0.2 itb)

I am afraid that Spurs will turn back to 4231 that "kills" Alli and Eriksen potential (CBs injuries and poor Wimmer).

A post for our very many film buffs. Just watched "The Pianist" again tonight for about the fourth time.

Roughly 20 minutes until price changes.

I wish, but I doubt it. There's been a big difference of opinion between FPL Stats and FFF on him for the past several days, with FFF much more doubtful of a drop--and him not dropping. And FFF still thinks he has a ways to go. My theory is that sales have been concentrated amongst wildcarders, which don't count towards price movement.

    Bottomed. Which move?
    (A) Holebas to Holgate/Chambers/Francis
    (B) Holebas and Snodgrass to Baines/Coleman and 4.3m midfielder (I have Snodgrass as mid 5 on the bench atm)
    (C) Save FT.

Holebas has to go so A with Chambres or possibly Yoshida

Is double up on West Brom defense too much?
I am already the frustrated owner of Evans!
Holebas has to go and have 2.2M itb so lots of options

Would go Baines/Coleman and Alonso before, but if you have one of them then you can. I have Foster and Brunt.

I'm thinking about Evans to Mccauley. Though I have so much Aguero money to spend I'll probably do something else.

    Choose one:

    A) Daniels + Haz > Alonso + Eriksen
    B) Daniels + Haz > Brunt + KDB
    C) Giroud + Haz > Lukaku + Eriksen

      C

A, but Brunt & Eriksen would work, so you can use the money for Giroud to Lukaku later if you want

Finally getting round to ditching Origi.

Is it worth going for Caroll or even taking a punt on the cheaper Crouch if he is likely to continue to get starts. Any thoughts? Thanks

Crouch might be a bit risky with Berahino on the scene?

Yeh good point, forgot he would be coming into the picture

Carroll is a decent shout. Best in that price range at the moment.

Looks like Origi is down the pecking order. Though they looked a lot better when he came on.

Could Spurs switch back to 4231 with all CBs injury and Wimmer being poor?
Is Liverpool midfielder worth picking over Arsenal, Everton, Spurs and Phillips (short term) ? 🙂

Short term, Liverpool don't have great fixtures, so all the other options you mention are probably better imo

I'd have little trouble getting rid of him. It's Hazards turn to audition tomorrow. One of them is going for Alli

I'm keeping myself. 3 Straight gw blanks is not too bad for a 7ish million midfielder.

Not much Hazard can do tomorrow to prove better value, so may as well do it now
