After a disappointing Tuesday evening, we’ve high hopes for the three remaining matches in Gameweek 23.

West Ham and Man City get us up and running at 7.45pm as the pair go head-to-head at the London Stadium.

The major news is that the fit-again Sergio Aguero is only named on the bench for City as Gabriel Jesus is afforded his first league start up top. Pep Guardiola also drops Claudio Bravo and hands Willy Caballero a chance between the posts.

With fixtures on their schedule in Gameweek 26 and 28, the in-form Hammers are of keen interest to Fantasy managers, with the likes of Andy Carroll and Michail Antonio offered the chance to stake a claim for our plans this evening. New signing Robert Snodgrass warms the bench, though Jose Fonte is fast-tracked into the first XI by Slaven Bilic.

Man United entertain Hull and Stoke welcome Everton to the bet365 in the pair of 8pm encounters.

With Alexis Sanchez managing just an assist against Watford and both Diego Costa and Harry Kane serving up blanks, the stage looks set for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to produce the goods at Old Trafford.

The United frontman was the top captaincy choice for Gameweek 23, with 22.9% handing him the armband at home to a Tigers outfit that have conceded more goals away from home than any other side.

Everton, meanwhile, have been subject to considerable investment on the back of five wins and a draw in the last seven rounds of fixtures.

Similar to West Ham, upcoming matches in Gameweek 26 and 28 boost the Toffees’ appeal, with many keeping an eye on Seamus Coleman, Leighton Baines, Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku as we plan ahead to deal with the inevitable cup postponements.

    This season I've had long-term defensive double-ups of Leicester (Morgan/Fuchs) and Southampton (Cedric/Bertrand). Both worked out very badly indeed.

    Come GW26 I'm gonna be doubled up on Everton defence (Baines/Coleman), so you all better make the most of the next two gameweeks before the drought.

    I'm on (C)oleman at the moment.

    Best option?

    A) Giroud -> Benteke
    B) Giroud -> Barnes and De Roon -> Firmino (/ other mid): switch to 3-5-2.
    C) Giroud -> Carroll

    1. FPL Wisdom
      • 11 Years

      C if chasing. A for the 'easy' points.
      B for a hit?

      1. hannesdela
        • 14 Years
        9 years, 3 months ago

        I have 2 FTs so wouldn't need a hit for B. But I still have Pickford who needs to be replaced by Jakupovic to cover for Heaton's blank in GW 28.

        I'm 10 points off the top in my mini league so not really chasing and the no.1 has Carroll. So maybe Benteke the best bet? Just sucks he'll probably miss GW 28 and Carroll won't.

        1. FPL Wisdom

          Pickford is on the way back to fitness. hold him. even if it means feilding no GK.
          I'd play safe then at 10 points gap.go Tekkers.

            Hmm yeah good point, but Benteke and Pickford compared to Carroll and Jakupovic will likely mean 2 less players on GW 28. Jakupovic will rise tonight, that's why I was contemplating the move. But I will postpone and see when we get closer to GW 28. Only making the Benteke move then 🙂 Thanks a lot for your help!

          I find that 75% chances flagged players are almost alway back the next match, Rose is made of tough stuff and hates to miss a match, they already have defence issues with the loss of a few players at the back and he's one of the bigger 'attacking' players for them. it's just a precocious FPL. It would have been assessed and confirmed by now if it was worse no?

            I hear you, I'm not normally one to jump on tabloid reports and take them as fact but he was injured before the match then came off again mid way through so I can't see him shrugging that off but I like your optimism. I think I'll sell and buy back when fit.

              Coming off at halftime does give him time to recover. I'd hold till I know. to lose a player of his caliber during this run of fixture only to find he's fine would be gutting. there's plenty of cheaper moves to make if he's out (Eve Def's, Ars, WBA) or just move sideways to Walker. I just don't trust the yellow flags one bit...or the Sun

                You argue a good case, it's Coleman price rise that is encouraging me to move on it but I think it probably is sensible to wait for the presser on Friday, it's 'only' .1 that I'd be losing out on unless Coleman goes up again tomorrow night !

    Evening all,

    A. Giroud to Lukaku

    B. Giroud & Rose to Lukaku and Coleman for a hit.

    First option means playing Pieters then waiting to bring Coleman on board for Rose next GW.

    However, the hit would save me at least .2 in value and I think Everton CS + Goalman attacking returns is far more likely than a Stoke CS with Pieters attacking returns this. Feels right to me....hit or no hit ?
