Cursed with a reputation of failing to deliver to form and fixture, while some have tried to dispel the myth, Romelu Lukaku chose today to slay it once and for all.

The stage was dressed and set for the Belgian.

With the fixture list driving his recruitment, there was a degree of forced faith in Lukaku.

Two blanks on the road had created an air of caution, but Everton’s home form was strong enough to offer real hope.

Bournemouth, as today’s visitors, were offering the biggest reason for optimism. Incredibly, Eddie Howe’s side arrived at Goodison Park having shipped 20 goals in their last ten outings, conceding three in six of those matches.

The script was meticulously scribed and, for once, Lukaku read and stuck to it perfectly.

It took him just 30 seconds to expose the Cherries frailties, ominously curling home a confident opener to tease the destruction that was to follow.

Bournemouth’s second half rally merely drew the sting from Everton, with Lukaku ending the match in riotous form.

Acquired by over 75,000 prior to today’s deadline, Lukaku boasted an ownership of 1.1 million FPL managers.

However, only 22% of those owners chose to back him with the captaincy, perhaps distracted by the lure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Harry Kane, having previously been stung by the Everton striker.

However, announcing himself this season with a hat-trick on Wearside, Lukaku chose Bournemouth as his next major victims and bullied them with a similar display of pace, power and finishing.

His 21-points ranks second only to Alexis Sanchez’ fabled London Stadium haul – Lukaku’s return today is the top individual score by any FPL forward.

With the fixtures remaining kind and with Gameweeks 26 and 28 booked in, his ownership and price will likely rocket.

However, while we can lavish praise his way this evening, we should not forget the frustration he can cause.

Stalling badly from Gameweek 11, Lukaku appeared stuck in a rut and unable to drag Everton from their Autumnal malaise.

But something clicked thereafter – perhaps the new arrivals on Merseyside, perhaps Ronald Koeman’s new formation – but the smile returned, and the energy and hunger came with it.

Incredibly, he now leads the Golden Boot race. Involved in 51% of Everton’s goals, boasting an almost identical points per match tally as both Diego Costa and Ibrahimovic and second only to Jermain Defoe for points per million value, the case for Lukaku is compelling.

Was there ever any doubts? Of course, but at least for tonight, we will conveniently forget the past.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is Jaku worth playing over Heaton in any of the next 3?

    Jaku : ars, BUR, lei
    Heaton : CHE, hul, swa

Exact cash if it's with Hazard.

What are we doing about Phillips folks? Still holding against that leaky West Ham defense? His cheap price means every one silently lowers their expectations and are hesitant to complain about him. Thinking a switch to Snodgrass could be nice.

Think he will have a field day at our ground. All season, pacy opposition wingers have filled their boots. Plus he seems to be the 'away' WBA man, whereas Brunt is the 'homer'

Phillips has been a mega troll. 74 points in 10 gws before I get him, then 9 points in 4.

Seriously considering a straight swap with Siggy despite both playing in gw28

Played him SUN mid STK and have got 3, 2, 2 . There's some really plum fixtures in there, so not sure he'll even do much against Bournemouth. I'll probably hold on though.

What's the score with Stanlisas? I know he was dropped but is it likely he'll come back in?
He was key to me getting XI out in gw26 and gw28 whilst still having a luxury transfer of Costa or Hazard in then out in 26 and 27. If he don't look like getting back in I may sell him for Snodgrass for a hit to keep to the plan but effectively a FT if he won't play in the blanks (2x -2's)

Is Lallana out & Siggy in the way to go for gw 25. Will leave 0ft & 1.4itb:

    Foster (Valdes)
    Alonso, Coleman, Jones, Pieters (Walker)
    Sanchez, Alli, Siggy (Phillips, Stanislas)
    Ibra (c), Lukaku, Defoe

I'm resting Walker v Liv away as in such a big game Liverpool will lift so I expect them to score. Jones could be out anyway so Phillips will be first on bench.

    Thoughts & thanks.

Can we assume that Stanislas has lost his starting spot? He hasn't been playing particularly well lately, and not being subbed on at all today after and early substitution on tuesday is telling

Should I transfer Stanislas for J. King or Fraser?
Or should I just save my FT and risk Stan price possibly dropping?

True. And Howe doesn't exactly shy away from making early substitutions either.
Bournemouth midfield has decent differential value when playing well (Stan for me between swansea and hull)

    Cech (jaku)
    Alonso Cedric McAuley (holgate) (3.9)
    Sanchez alli lallana Philips (fletcher)
    Ibra Kane deeney

    Suggestion please..

Thinking of lallana to siggy and maybe ibra/Kane to lkk?

    All comments welcomed.. thanks!

I'd try to switch Deeney to Lukaku, but I'm not sure where to suggest you get the cash from.

That will be best but ya.. no cash hence can only like change either ibra or Kane for lkk..

Lkk against boro next followed by Sunderland

I'm sure we've had this debate before but it is highlighted in the extreme this week.

Costa did not assist the goal that Hazard made for himself.

Lukaku did assist McCarthy by virtue of setting him up.

Would have been an assist if McCarthy's 1st effort was the goal.

Aye, but he was set-up, stock answers are okay, but you know it was an assist.

What are you expecting the Leicester - Man Utd score will be? Leicester fans think they'll get absolutely hammered. Ranieri may have lost the dressing room and he doesn't change formation.
Personally, I think this will be a big win for Man United - even if some of the Leicester players turn up they'll play like headless chickens for this game. Big win for me; 0-4 Man U
