Hector Bellerin remains doubtful for Arsenal’s home clash with Hull. Sofiane Boufal is sidelined for Southampton’s trip to Sunderland, while Jonny Evans comes back into contention to hand Tony Pulis a defensive dilemma as the Baggies make their way to West Ham.

Mohamed Elneny is back in contention for Arsenal after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations. Hector Bellerin requires a late assessment, though, after being forced off with concussion in last week’s loss at Chelsea.

Sam Allardyce has confirmed that winter signing Luka Milivojevic is available for selection after his visa issues were sorted. Jeffrey Schlupp is back in training ahead of the trip to West Ham but Scott Dann looks set to miss out after limping off with a hamstring problem last weekend.

Mark Hughes has admitted that Stoke still have concerns over Xherdan Shaqiri and Glen Johnson ahead of a home clash with Palace, with the latter likelier to make it. The Potters boss also conceded that new arrival Saido Berahino is not yet up to full match sharpness.

Sofiane Boufal is Southampton’s only new injury concern for the trip to Sunderland, with manager Claude Puel ruling out the Moroccan due to an ankle problem.

Swansea new boy Jordan Ayew is available for the visit of Leicester after returning from Africa Cup of Nations duties earlier in the week. Jefferson Montero and Ki Sung-yeung will miss out again, while Leon Britton is also unavailable, Paul Clement has revealed.

Eddie Howe has a number of worries in defence, with the Bournemouth boss set to make late decisions on the fitness of Charlie Daniels, Simon Francis and Adam Smith. All three have failed to train this week ahead of Monday’s match.

Mauricio Pochettino is hopeful that Kieran Trippier could return for Tottenham’s trip to Anfield, though Danny Rose, Jan Vertonghen and Erik Lamela are still sidelined.

Hull’s Michael Dawson has been ruled out for “a few weeks” with a calf complaint, while Marco Silva has worries up front after Abel Hernandez was sidelined for “three-to-four weeks” with a hamstring injury. Ahmed Elmohamady is back in contention, though, after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Tony Pulis has revealed that Jonny Evans and Claudio Yacob have both been passed fit for West Brom’s trip to West Ham.

Andy Carroll, Aaron Cresswell and Cheick Kouyate are set to undergo fitness tests ahead of West Ham’s clash with West Brom, Slaven Bilic has confirmed. Sam Byram, Havard Nordtveit and Alvaro Arbeloa are all in full training and expected to be available.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

If you don't do it this week don't do it next week. And not for any of the West brom guys gw26 or gw27 home to Bournemouth & Crystal palace.

Siggy will struggle away to Chelsea gw 26 so no rush to get him in next week.

Now that Johnny Evans is passed fit for West brom this weekend would you guys suggest starting Brunt.

I see he has had terrible away returns. Would you drop any of the following for him:

    Walker Baines

Play Brunt ahead of Phillips or Pieters now that Evans is fit?
Should we expect Evans to get back in the first team right away and push Brunt to the left wing?

yes, now that Evans is back. i am playing both Brunt and Phillips this week. Phillips is a slight risk not to start, imo.

      probably, Brunt to left wing.

Think I would play Brunt over Philips whatever the formation Brunt just seems to rack up the points most weeks and Philips has gone a bit cold, I'm playing both this week though.

The big concern for Brunt is his away form. He has never managed an away return.

But he has managed a home return every time 🙂

trying to decide whether to bring Robertson (HUL) or Mawson (SWA) in as my 4th defender, to play in GW28 and also as an option should i prefer not to play an Everton defender away to Spurs in GW27. would also be my only healthy bench player this week,
should one of my starters not be available.

also there is the possibility that i may need to get Jakupovic (HUL) as GW 28 goalie (have Heaton/Pickford, both of whom may blank).
i prefer Robertson to Mawson by a little, but the potential Hull double-up on defense doesn't feel good.

    so . . . Robertson or Mawson?

Mawson I think if you are getting Jaku then you have defender on each team for the Hull v Swansea match up which should be tight maybe 0-0

I feel this is a Hot Topic that hasn't been covered:

What should we make of Spurs' key assets now that there has been a tactical shift in light of Rose's injury?

Eriksen, Alli and Kane: what can we expect from them and why? How will positional changes affect their output and crucially, should we stick or twist?

Important points: they have a great fixture run coming up, but they also have a lot of games, with cups (essentially playing every 3 or 4 days for a few weeks).

Walker, on the other hand is still a sure stream of fantasy points.

...which is affecting Alli the most, from what I've seen.

Well, it is both. They don't play a wing back system because their most important attacking wing back is unavailable.

It was my understanding that Poch changed because of the attacking abilities of Rose and Walker primarily. With injuries to Vert or Toby in the past, Dier has filled in. Davies and Trippier are no Rose and Walker. If I'm wrong, I stand corrected.

Did they play with wing backs against Sunderland? No - because neither Davies or Wimmer (which you obviously learned against City) are up for the task at LCB.

They won't revert to 3421 until he's back. Which dent both Eriksen and Allis appeal, especially the latter.

Ah yeah I'm about the same - I own KdB and will keep for bou instead of selling for Siggy just now, but I'd be wanting to take a punt. I wouldn't be 100% about it though.

Feel like Ibra or Sanchez are good choices; I'm on Ibra cos my ML rival above me doesn't own him, and the guy chasing me doesn't have Sanchez but will capt Ibra too so it works in that sense

Last thing of the week: right to bench Brunt (whu) for Pieters (CPL)?

Also have Rondon and Antonio in West Ham game, plus Randolph on the bench, so figured I'd play the numbers and play Pieters who has been doing OK at home.

    Right call?

Depends if you have other Spurs, tbh. Fancy them vs. Liverpool who do, I think, look a bit burnt out for whatever reason!

I'm thinking of bringing him in next week for Chelsea. Have Sanchez or KdB needing replacing, and he'll inevitably get a wave of new owners in 27 anyway, plus he can score away vs. many teams, so why not 🙂

My keeper situation is awkward. I have Mannone(4.3) + Kuciak(4).
Most sunderland fans predicting that Pickford gets straight in.
Replacing one of the keepers will require a hit, whenever i do it.
Do i do Mannone/Kuciak -> Jaku this week or next? Doing Kuciak -> jaku means 0.3 lying idle with Mannone.

When do i do it? Which move do i do? Is there any other better keeper replacement than Jaku?

    1. Chris_White

      Mannone to Jaku, LR.

Idk if keepers can be "in form", but that guy is. Can also see him getting a pile of saves away at ours, plus if we don't score early the crowd get frustrated and it really transmits to the players on the pitch, who get nervous and make it easy for the defending teams. Boro did it well, and Silva looks like he's got Hull organised. I'm not captaining Sanchez this week cos I can see this being a further banana skin for us, but maybe I'm just despondent because we've gone through our annual collapse... again...

Just do nothing. Keepers get 0 or 1 all the time so play with 10 the week he's dropped. There's no way I'd drop Mannone just going by Sunderland fans. Let Moyes make the decision first and you react later.

I think Manonne starts tomorrow. Has to really off b2b clean sheets and fact Pickford only returned to full training this week. After that though then Pickford could easily be back in come gw26. I don't think it's a case of if Pickford comes back in, more when.

You should know by gw28 at least. As a Sunderland fan I really hope pickford is back in before then, although saying that if he's not it means that Manonne has been playing out of his skin so I'll take that also.

Mannone has always seemed so mentally fragile to me, even way back at Arsenal.

i agree he probably plays this week, but Pickford is a bulldog, the exact opposite.

            he is Sunderland's #1, i am convinced.

Crouchie at home for sure. WBA not particularly great away.

Also Hughes said Berahino isn't match fit according to the BBC news feed, so I'm guessing he'll be on the bench and come on - gotta hope Crouch does the damage before he gets subbed. Think there's a bit more chance of him doing something vs. Palace than Phillips.

Na gotta be Sanchez this week with the likelihood of him being up front and potentially on penalties now. Hull away are absolutely brutal and I expect Arsenal to sweep them aside.

They got a point at Old Trafford, granted, but that was down to a lot of luck and the GK playing well. That doesn't hold out usually for 90mins, not every game.

Im in a dilemma, my main league i play in is a H2H league.

Was planning on sticking this week, but i think i could do Alli/Eriksen to Siggy and get a win.

However, that would mean i had to use a -4 next week to get lukaku in. Plus Ali and Eriksen have a Stoke.

Basically, can i stomach this week without Siggy?

I'm going without, but because you have the Spurs double up I'd take Siggy. Bringing Kaku in for a hit and (c) next week with Sunderland at home should pay for itself.

I have KdB who I won't remove at bournemouth. I'm doing it next week.

Brunt for me, He has a similar probability of providing attacking returns. Plus you could get bonus points if they can keep a clean sheet !

    3. fedolefan
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 1 month ago

Yeah, I can't decide and so I'm saving my FT to play both. Brunt is as likely to get attacking returns as Phillips, though Phillips does do better away from home. Brunt may play OOP too if Evans is back. I'd play Phillips though since defenders get lower bps for scoring goals and assuming Brom concede, Phillips could get bonus if he scores.

Same issues here. Brunt Philips & Rondon in my team.

Brunt has never scored an away return & Rondon has only returned 2 away, one on the opening day of the season.

Philips has provided 5 returns on the road including two double digit returns away to Leicester & Southampton.

West Brom have struggled away although their away games were tough of late.

MID TOT SOU ARS CHE HUL BUR

Last 7 away since Brunt returned.

In that time they have managed to lose 4 (marginally only) and draw 4 of the last 8 away.

West ham will be difficult also so it appears that Philips may be the best gamble of the three going by the above.

Food for thought. I have Philips and Brunt warming my bench at the moment.

      Decisions decisions decisions!

I don't think KdB will be rested. I own him and he's Pep's favourite player.

Firmino -> Siggy is a good option imo. Holebas to Maguire can be done next time out - you won't be playing Maguire if you get him in for this week so don't waste the transfer.

      Hey Gilbert! How you doing?

      Erm, Heaton for sure... 😛

Nah, erm as I've said a few times today I'm going Ibra cos my ML rival doesn't own and I can't quite fit Siggy in yet (going Sanchez -> Siggy next week; own KdB as my differential this week), but if I did own him I'd put the captaincy on him!

Hey ID! I'm going nowhere in no-mans-land at the moment, had no Lukaku last week... Did you captain him like I recommended you to do? 😉

Yeah I brought Siggy in this week but I think Ibra is a safer choice. Siggy more of a punt. I've struggled with captaincy so it is between Sanchez and Ibra. What is your view on Sanchez and Arsenal? Will we se a reaction?

          • Fantasy Football Scout Member
          • 12 Years

          No. No I didn't. I'm an idiot. 🙁

Erm, basically I think Hull are looking a lot more organised under Silva, and I was saying to LateRiser earlier that if we don't score early the crowd get really frustrated and it gets the players nervous and snatching at their chances, so if Hull get us more than 30 mins in without scoring they could be good for the cleanie. Jaku in form, too. Saw it with against Boro, we just got desperate and the crowd also got really restless and it wasn't particularly nice for anyone apart from the Boro defence who were loving it.

          So I'm going Ibra.

There's also my ML situation; the guy chasing me doesn't own Sanchez, whereas the guy I'm chasing does own but doesn't own Ibra as I said. So it's a clear choice for me!
