Written off as relegation certainties just over a month ago, Hull City’s survival bid has been given a significant shot in the arm since the arrival of new manager Marco Silva.

Two wins and a draw in five matches under the Portuguese’s stewardship, supplemented by clean sheets against the likes of Mancheser United and Liverpool, have seen many Fantasy Premier League managers assess the KCOM outfit in a new light.

Key to Hull’s appeal is, of course, that they play in both Gameweek 26 and 28 – indeed, Silva’s men are one of just eight sides currently set to feature in the latter round of matches.

As the interest starts to escalate in light of this weekend’s FA Cup results, we cast an eye over Hull’s recent matches, comparing the numbers to their previous statistics for signs of progress, while checking out the Tigers’ chief performers as we look to navigate the tricky upcoming schedule.

Me personally? Nah, no WC so must start building DG'ers. If you have WC left then yes, maybe get a LIV and keep the TOT you like most.

You on WC now? Gotta be a bit careful how you build it mate. For me I'd want to use every FT from 29 onward to get a DGW player with 37 BB in mind, that's 9 FT's.

Yeah, team was messy and didnt want to make it even more messy, team value low as well and with FA break, thought this will be good time to sort the team.

Agreed with team building, trying to make a stable rather than taking too many punts or random team structure. Thought about 3-5-2 but will have to drop Luka/Costa/Ibra, so not sure if it'll work since there arent really cheap forwards worth getting, feels like waste of money.

28 is your danger, attack it too vigorously and you'll have a massive job unwinding for 37 BB. Careful planning needed, these guys all have WC's left, we don't.

Not really interested in GW28 as those teams dont look good for investment over long term, will be getting player that I'll keep after that viz Evertonian, Sigurdsson, liverpool mid and Hull defenders

I have Alli - Personally I might drop for GW28, but at the moment I'm keeping for sure. Got rid of Ibra for Lukaku, and when there's more information I might get rid of Sanchez for Mane for a hit.

    Looking at:

Ibra and Pogba to Costa and Firmino for free.

Have exact money for Can to Snoddy for -4, but am seriously considering Markovic instead.

Is Markovic instead of Snoddy ridiculous?

I have absolutely no idea how to fix my mess of a team for GW26

    Cech - (Pickford)
Brunt - Coleman - Cédric - (Love, Amat)
    Sanchez - Hazard - Eriksen - Phillips - Stanislas
    Aguero - Lukaku - (Anichebe)

    2FT 0.9ITB

Before GW26 I'm taking out Aguero and Anichebe for 2 players who plays both GW26 and 28. Or to bring in Costa if I can solve GW28.
Will still only leave me with 9 GW26 players. I could get 10 but I don't wanna take a hit for maybe Love->Mawson.

Any tip? I'm actually on 1.412 points so I'm not as terrible as this absolute joke of a team suggests. Though I dropped the ball on preparing for these blanks.

    thanks!

I would actually keep Aguero with Jesus out. Sell Sanchez, Stanislas & Cedric (-4 hit) for a playing XI this week imo

I was thinking that but I need money from somewhere and I bought Sanchez very early, would waste a lot on selling him. Still I would need to bring Anichebe out for someone who plays as none of my subs are playing. Thanks for the reply I'll think about it

I also got Sanchez when he was 10.9. Still sold him with a plan to buy him back after GW28. I don't see him running riot against Liverpool given the form the team is in. His price will fall back to atleast 11.3 or 11.4 by the time GW28 is over so not a lot of difference really.

Yeah, I got Sanchez at 10.9 as well, but I think his price will drop enough (assuming Ars beat Sutton), especially if he'd happen to blank against Liverpool too.

A hit would be the minimum with 2 FTs.

I would take a hit to sort out your defence, since you have 2 non playing defenders & cedric who has 2 blanks in 3.
The way i see it if the defender gets a CS you break even & it sets up for GW28 uswell.
I would do amat to mcguire. Hull keeping CS plus as stats point to a due goal for mcguire so a hit will pay off in the long run

You have 5 for BGW plus 2FTs plus 3 future FTs, should be fine.

Amat to Hull/Everton defender, Cech to Jak and Sanchez to Liverpool mid for -4pts should give some stability plus 3 new players for BGW26 and 28

        9 years, 1 month ago

Thanks. Sry for noob question but what does the B stand for in BGW:) If I do amat->mcguire, Cech-jak and sanchez->lpool I would still only have 9 players for GW26. If I take out Aguero and anichebe + amat->mcquire i'd be on 10. I don't quite get your count of FTs. I only have 2 before GW26 and then another 2 before 28?

Oops, sorry, thought its GW25 😮

          BGW means blank gameweek.

How come you'll have 10 with Aguero move and 9 with Sanchez? Early days, so I'm in sleep mode 😛

Yeah Maybe I count wrong there. Still Stanislas is not playing so I'm down to 9 anyway. I had a new Idea to do Chech-Jak. Amat->Magurie and Anichebe ->Gray. Would even me out on 0.0ITB and all 3 also plays GW28. Bad? I will get 9 players with a -4 hit. Worth taking another hit to get 10 playing?

Not sure about Gray, would prefer Niasse. Otherwise looks good

Depends, normally many hesitate to take -8/-12 😛 You can take another hit...

Ok. Wow I'm in trouble. I'm really not liking keeping Aguero though. So expensive, 2 blanks and then playing Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea. It's hard to find and striker that plays both GW 26 and 28 that is tempting though.

Pickford is back in training & could start for sunderland so i dont think cech out should be your priority this week.
1 defender & two attackers should be your priority this week.
Personaly i would recommend sanchez, aguero & amat out 1st

I have been looking at getting Coleman for Holebas for GW28. Amat to a Hull defender is a sound option too I think. I think Amat to Coleman would tie too much money on defence for me (admittedly I have Baines over Funes Mori).

Agree with others no hit play 4-4-2.

If you got coleman then im guessing you would bench either holebas (he has an ok fixture ) or FM (who has good chance of CS & attacking returns if everton go wild) or siggy ( so awesome with his crosses/corners lately that he is capable of attacking returns agaisnt anyone) so therefore i dont think hit would be worth it

I'm getting Costa but I already have Lukaku. Tricky situation to be honest. Costa loves scoring against Swansea and is always a threat at the bridge. Just think that may be the extra game in GW 28 sways it Lukaku's way.

So looking at this stage that we'll have a huge dgw37 and a really weak dgw34.

It also looks like Sanchez will have sto/SUN in 37 which would be the standout TC option.

I'm currently thinking of building a team set up nicely for a gw34 bb that will probably be fairly average, then wildcard into gw35 with a team that has a strong XI of dgw37 players including Sanchez.

    Thoughts?

Wouldn't Sanchez have Sunderland/Southampton double for GW34 and then Stoke/Leicester in GW37? if it is, I am leaning towards

1.building a solid team for GW34 and using TC on Sanchez for the Sun/Sou DGW
      2. WC in GW36 to build a better bench for the BB in GW37, which I understand will be the bigger of the two DGWs so there will be more options to choose for DGW players.

Of course, it is a long way to go till GW34 so will have to see how form/injuries etc play out.

The Ars-Sun game is the weekend of the FAC SFs which Srsenal are 99% to be in so the Sunderland game has to move to GW37 as far as I am aware. Their GW28 home game vs Leicester would be in the midweek after the FAC SF.

I can't see how they can fit in the Southampton game in 34 or 37 so I assume it will be in a different GW.

I think there are so many unknowns at the moment, Pep saying that they could've played Stoke on the 1st of March is just adding to the madness. If City, Man U or Arsenal keep going and get to the semis and final of the FA Cup, there's gonna be even more trouble. Some mouthwatering gameweeks ahead for sure.

I agree that there are way too many unknowns right now, especially with Torresmagic's info regarding Arsenal (which I wasn't aware of). All I am really focusing on for now is getting through GW28 in good shape, then hopefully we will get more info to aide in any planning. Should be interesting though.

Wish I knew, looking at his history, the last time he took a -12 due to injuries etc, he swapped out Mata, Sterling, Coutinho and Diomonde - who wound up totalling 2 pts and transferred in Mane, Zaha, Eriksen and Austin who totalled 33 pts (although Austin was injured that week !).

His bench totalled 4 pts that week (one player had 2pts, the other two 1 each) so he still made out pretty well !!!! hard to say who he would have captained if he just did a single transfer, but I am sure he wishes he captained Sanchez in hindsight (as do I)

Definitely A out of the choices you have listed, in my opinion anyway. I wouldn't start any of the players you are considering ahead of who you currently have. Although I would consider Alli or Eriksen to Mane if I was in your position. But I am not personally a fan of triple attacks for any team.

Could do, but stoke haven't conceded more than 1 goal in a game since Chelsea in GW19 (albeit besides MUN and EVE, they have not had the toughest of opponents). I just don't see Stoke conceding all that much (but in full transparency I thought the same when West Brom visted the Spurs and a Kane hatty later I was proven very wrong).

As I said above, I am just not a fan of having three attacking players from one team. Even when Liverpool was firing earlier in the year, I only did the coutinho/firmino double up. Just too many eggs in one basket. Although if you have had the triple for a few weeks now, I can understand holding out as you don't want to drop the one that winds up scoring against stoke !!!! its a tough call really, you have a strong team regardless!

Thought on this blank transfer strategy?:

This GW: Ibra + Sanchez ---> Costa + Mane (-4)
    GW27: Kane ---> Ibra
    GW28: Cedric ---> Maguire (leaves £4.7 ITB)

Ticks all of the below boxes:
    -Costa vs SWA GW26
    -Ibra vs BOU GW27
-Inform Mane in vs LEI GW26
-Gives me a strong 11 for all three gameweeks

    Yay or Nay and Why?

    Ibra ➡ Carroll/Niasse
    De Roon ➡ Mane

    In GW 27
    Kane to Ibra ©

    After GW 28
    Reverse Niasse/Carroll to Kane

Would allow me to have extra 2 players straight away plus one or two more in 28 means 10 or 11 with luck

This feels a bit risky PD, especially when you have a sound team 26 anyway w/Ibra benched and waiting. Kane can punish anyone, EVE are no exception. I had to do this type of mucking about just to make provision for Ibra 27(c), don't think you have to. If you really want Mane I'd say dump a TOT, if not then just hide on Monday night lol 😉

    Randolph (pick)
    Alonso brunt mori mcauley holebas
    Sanchez haz eriksen phillips siggy
    Lukaku ibra diomande

I can either go barnes for diomande or Mane for alexis with a plan to get him back in 3 weeks.

    A) barnes (play alexis vs liv)
    B) mane (no alexis for 3 weeks)

Walker Alonso Yoshi Funes mori nyom
    Alli Sterling Siggy Phillips Stanislas
    Ibra Kane Crouch

Is Sterling to Mane a no brainer now? Or am I missing something in the grand scheme of things?

Yep, get a Big Beast in there, Hazard or Mane fit the bill nicely.

No plans to get Lukaku? I would probably be more worried about not owning him than Mane to be honest, given you never know who is going to score with the Liverpool Mids.

That's what I meant when I said am I missing something. I hate Lukaku and somehow have a strange feeling that he would blank this week. And him against spurs in the next week? No sir. Thinking of getting a midfielder. Seems safe.

Lukaku is a must have for blanks
      Crouch to Lukaku probably
      or Stan to Mane

      keep Sterling for 27 probably

I know we have a long way to go in this year, but just curious if Sanchez and Firmino will be classed as forwards next year if they keep playing up top for the rest of the year (or the majority of the remaining year anyway)? Only my second year in FPL, so not familiar with how position reclassifications work.

Doubtful, even as "CF's" they aren't classical 9's, they both play a pressing game and will often be found doing the dirty work that once upon a time would be unthinkable for a real CF.

I'm hoping you are right, already hard enough trying to pick the best three forwards to own, adding Firmino and Sanchez would only make it worse !!

Then again, when it comes to top strikers priced above Defoe, there's a huge gap to say... Kaku@9.9 lol Maybe someone like Bobby in @8.5-9 could fill that gap nicely?

Good point, Firmino priced like that would add more options I suppose. There is a huge gap with no viable forwards from 8mil to 10 Mil, other than Lukaku who will likely rise above 10m in the coming weeks !

This is why 3-5-2 became so trendy. Been a few meh weeks for milfs but with Defoe wobbling a bit and Mane firing I can see 3-5-2 back in fashion after 28.

They might be. Happened with Erik dier and brunt this season. During the last 3-4 weeks of the last season, when I joined, dier was a great player to own. They also reclassified Martial as a midfielder for this season.

Would you drop Valencia and Coleman for someone like Fernandez and Funes if it means I can keep Ibra and Mane? Otherwise its likely to be one of Ibra and Mane OR dropping the Spurs mid.

    I'm a poor guy #LowTV 😛

Drop a spurs mid if you have two of them or Kane. Or else I would drop Valencia for Funes mori.

Drop dele. Eriksen is the creator in chief. No matter who scores, he will probably have the assists.
