Manchester City have this afternoon announced news that potentially sets up a double Gameweek 27.

The Premier League fixture bulletin published by City confirms that, should City progress past Huddersfield in their FA Cup replay, their fixture with Stoke City will shift back from March 11, to March 8.

This would move it from Gameweek 28 to within Gameweek 27. Pep Guardiola’s men would, therefore, face a trip to Sunderland, paired with that home tie with the Potters – a hugely appealing double header.

Mark Hughes’ side, meanwhile, would host Middlesbrough prior to visiting the Etihad.

The news completely transforms the current landscape of fixtures and impacts our short-term strategies.

City will face Huddersfield in their replay next Wednesday and, should they progress to the last eight of the FA Cup as expected, the double Gameweek 27 will be confirmed.

This will immediately promote their assets – particularly in attack – and likely re-align our plans ahead of Gameweek 28.

Certainly, City’s display in last night’s Champions League win over Monaco serves as a handy showcase for the form of their attacking talents.

With Gabriel Jesus now stuck in the treatment room for two-to-three months, Sergio Aguero retuned to form with a bang and his two goals and assist against the French outfit will have many now forging plans for his acquisition.

Should City progress, the allure of handing Aguero the armband in a double Gameweek will prove irresistible for many.

The performances of Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane on either side of the Argentine last night won’t have gone unnoticed either.

Both bagged a goal and assist against the Ligue 1 club and, with form very much on their side, offer more budget-friendly options at £7.8m and £7.5m respectively in FPL for those who may baulk at Aguero’s £12.7m price tag.

Serving up a goal or assist in eight of his last ten league outings, Sterling has proven to be one of the most consistent midfield picks in recent months, while Sane’s two goals and a pair of assists in five underlines the German’s improved showings on the flank.

With Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and spot-kick taker Yaya Toure also vying for our attention, there’s plenty for us to consider if City can clinch that spot in the last eight next midweek.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Am I right in thinking City also have a gw28 fixture vs Boro? Says they play on 11th march.

    Hi. So planning transfers. How it sounds?

    for GW26: Cedric + Sanchez -> Brunt + Mane
    for GW27: Lukaku -> Aguero (TC)
    for GW28: Aguero -> Lukaku

    Grant, Pickford
    Alonso, Coleman, Valencia, Cedric, Holebas
    Sanchez, Alli, Coutinho, Stanislas, Phillips
    Ibra, Lukaku, Anichebe

    just want to clear this up. city vs huddersfield
    if they lose then they are then available in gw28 right?
    so they win = 27dgw
    they lose = gw 28 fixture.

    either way = 2 fixtures. so get a city player regarldess?
    am i an idiot? in this question, lets not get personal 🙂

    Is it safe to assume the average score will be low this GW? Given the blanks that casuals and dead teams will miss.

    Playing 'Average' in my H2H league this GW and considering a -8 to line up players for a tougher fixture next week.

            I'm leaning towards a -8. Can see the blanks dragging the average GW score down. Would be useful to know how blanks usually impact.

    RP from earlier. Thoughts on these moves?

    GW27 - Sanchez to Sterling

    GW28 - Sterling to Mane

    Then get Sanchez and Sterling back after GW28.

    Hate it that people are getting lucky having Liverpool and City players!

    Was all set to do Holgate -> Coleman this week but now with the potential city double maybe it's time to shift my Spurs boys:

    Erikson + Kane -> Sterling + Aguero (in GW27)

        Aguero, Sterling, Sane but 3 seems overkill.

      People doubling up on city for hits. Then what, take them out for hits?

        Its good to have DGWers in team even if they bring only 2pts 😉

          Pretty hard to get both 27 & 28 to work now without hit(s) personally.

          I'm shipping out two players that dont have gw28 fixtures. Will bench sterling and Kun in gw28 whilst still fielding 9 players

        No point bringing in a city player right now, theres no gaurantee they progress so waiting is key

        Only aguero In next week and just standard captaincy are my thoughts atm, just don't trust pep enough to invest further and use my TC.
