Manchester City have this afternoon announced news that potentially sets up a double Gameweek 27.

The Premier League fixture bulletin published by City confirms that, should City progress past Huddersfield in their FA Cup replay, their fixture with Stoke City will shift back from March 11, to March 8.

This would move it from Gameweek 28 to within Gameweek 27. Pep Guardiola’s men would, therefore, face a trip to Sunderland, paired with that home tie with the Potters – a hugely appealing double header.

Mark Hughes’ side, meanwhile, would host Middlesbrough prior to visiting the Etihad.

The news completely transforms the current landscape of fixtures and impacts our short-term strategies.

City will face Huddersfield in their replay next Wednesday and, should they progress to the last eight of the FA Cup as expected, the double Gameweek 27 will be confirmed.

This will immediately promote their assets – particularly in attack – and likely re-align our plans ahead of Gameweek 28.

Certainly, City’s display in last night’s Champions League win over Monaco serves as a handy showcase for the form of their attacking talents.

With Gabriel Jesus now stuck in the treatment room for two-to-three months, Sergio Aguero retuned to form with a bang and his two goals and assist against the French outfit will have many now forging plans for his acquisition.

Should City progress, the allure of handing Aguero the armband in a double Gameweek will prove irresistible for many.

The performances of Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane on either side of the Argentine last night won’t have gone unnoticed either.

Both bagged a goal and assist against the Ligue 1 club and, with form very much on their side, offer more budget-friendly options at £7.8m and £7.5m respectively in FPL for those who may baulk at Aguero’s £12.7m price tag.

Serving up a goal or assist in eight of his last ten league outings, Sterling has proven to be one of the most consistent midfield picks in recent months, while Sane’s two goals and a pair of assists in five underlines the German’s improved showings on the flank.

With Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and spot-kick taker Yaya Toure also vying for our attention, there’s plenty for us to consider if City can clinch that spot in the last eight next midweek.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Sanchez and Stanislas are going but who to?

    A) Hazard and firmino
    B) Mane and firmino
    C) Mane and Sterling

I only have 1 FT so just get Mane this week and Sterling for potential DGW I thought

Then make 1FT to get Sanchez, Stanislas might play anyway. Then get Sterling next week for free, hit is pointless.

City will have 6 games in 18 days should they progress in the FA Cup. Working with the presumption that Kun won't start them all, which game will he likely be rested? Looks like Boro to me.

    01/03 - Huddersfield
    05/03 - Sunderland
    08/03 - Stoke
    11/03 - Boro
    15/03 - Monaco
    19/03 - Liverpool

      Sterling/Sane and captain them.

TC on Kun is very risky with Pep and the amount of games they will be playing.

You're a braver man than me. Much prefer the midfield options, need to study who is the least likely to be rotated given how congested their fixtures are.

I'm thinking of doing Lukaku > Aguero for GW27, then reversing it for GW 28.

I'd need to downgrade a mid for a hit to afford it though.

    Bottomed. Repost.

    Jaku/GRANT
    Alonso Walker Coleman Evans Amat
    Mane Alli Eriksen Phillips DeRoon
    Ibra Costa Lukaku

2FTs used to get in Mane and Costa this week.
Provided City go through, thinking to take a -8 for Alli+Erik+Costa to Sterling+Siggy+Kun
Would really appreciate your thoughts guys

Mar 05 - PL vs Sunderland
Mar 08 - PL vs Stoke City
Mar 11 - FA Cup vs Middlesbrough
Mar 15 - UEFA vs Monaco

Exactly what I'm looking at, I think KDB but need to study the numbers. Nolito/Navas/Sane/Sterling covering two positions with very congested fixtures... don't trust any of them to start both games. Silva has been brilliant recently too, he could be in for both games.

I think you need to decide after the Huddersfield game, the minutes played could give an insight into peps plans for gw27

If I do my preferred moves of Alli and Costa to Sterling and Aguero in gw27 it leaves me this

          --------------------Foster-------------
          --------Alonso Brunt Pieters------
          ----Mane Sterling Siggy Antonio
          ----------Aguero Ibra Lukaku------
          --------------------------------------------
          Pickford Phillips Coleman Daniels

Only problem is, I'll need to shave .5 from somewhere. What looks best?

          A) Foster to Jakupovic -4 this week
          B) Phillips to Allen (but that's taking a man away from gw28)
          C) Any other way of shaving .5?
