Gameweek 26 concludes at the home of the champions for a match-up which became a very different proposition only late last week with news of Claudio Ranieri’s departure.

The Foxes now hand the reins to caretaker manager Craig Shakespeare in a bid to halt a dismal run that has seen them lose all of their last five, with not a single goal scored in the six.

On paper, this seems a formality for Liverpool, then, although Jurgen Klopp’s men will surely be anticipating a reaction both from the team and the vociferous Foxes faithful tonight.

Nonetheless, the Reds arrive in buoyant mood. They come fresh from a fine 2-0 victory over Spurs back in Gameweek 25, a match that saw Sadio Mane emerge as a two-goal hero and a Fantasy hot property ever since.

Mane has been involved in 17 goals (scoring 11, assisting 6) – more than any other Liverpool player and is backed by more than 366,000 new owners, with over 113,000 FPL managers handing the Senegalese the captaincy.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Jakupovic | Valdes

    Brunt | Alonso | Coleman | Maguire* | Lovren*

    Stanislas* | Phillips* | Alli | Eriksen | Mané

    Ibra | Lukaku | Anichebe*

    1 FT and 2.4m itb, which was saved fro Aguero

    What would you do with this mess, team is littered with doubts. Only managed to field 9 last week

      You still have the basis of a very good team. This week I'd take a 4 point hit to clear out Stanislas and Philips. I'd change for Sterling and King if you can afford that.

      I'd keep Lovren and Maguire with them both due to play in week 28.

    A) Kane and Eriksen to Sterling and Kun (-4)
    B) Kane to Kun for free (Captain Kun)
    C) Eriksen to Sterling for free (Captain Sterling)
    D) Lukaku and Eriksen to Kun and Sane (-4)

    Jaku Heaton

    Kane Kaku Defoe. 4.4 itb
    Defoe will fall tonite:
    So would you do Defoe to Ibra tonite; and then if City beats Hud:
    Alli to Sterling for DGW to free up enough to do Kane to Kun... all for -8 this week???

    what is the maximum hit you should take getting players in for week28 (and then wildcard the week after)

    1) FT and play with 6 players
    2) -4 & 7 players
    3) -8 and 8 players
    4) -12 and 9 players
    5) -16 and 10 players
    6) - 20 and 11 players

    assume all transfers will be decent....i can afford the likes of Mane, Siggy, Llorente, Coleman, Firmino, Barkley

      Honestly there are only a few dire needs that week IMO:
      Coleman Siggy Mane Kaku and maybe Mcauley or Brunt and maybe Firmino and King or Snoddy. Not worth a lot of hits. -8 max

        evans
        funes mori
        firmino
        lukaku

        & holgate (but he wont play)

        i'm gonna get in siggy and aguero this week for kane and ali (-4)

        so i reckon next week go for mane and llorente (-4)

        that leaves me with 8 for a -8 hit (over 2 weeks)

        foster
        evans
        funes mori
        firmino
        lukaku

    Good morning. Couple of tough weeks to have Brunt and Baines instead of McAuley & Coleman...Also thought I would be well prepared for GW28 as I have Antonio and Phillips. Suddenly my team is in tatters and dropped from 3.3k to 4.5k.

    What would you do with this lot if we assume City win Huddersfield:

    Foster
    Brunt, Baines, Alonso, Robertson
    Phillips, Sigurdsson, Mane
    Lukaku, Kane, Ibrahimovic

    subs: Heaton --- Clayton, Holgate, Antonio --- 1 FT, 4.2 ITB

    A) Kane -> Aguero
    B) Kane and Phillips -> Aguero & Sterling (-4)
    C) Kane and Antonio -> Aguero & Sterling (-4)

        Ok it was probably a bit too dramatic description 😀 Nevertheless there are Holgate, Phillips, Antonio which could be described somewhat problematic players as I thought I'd be better prepared than the most. Cheers, reluctant to take -8 so it's either B or C I guess.

      I’m at 90k. Like Epic Fail, considering the time I’ve put in, it’s disastrous.

      I blame it on Firmino (held on to him despite his and Liverpool’s form after the Coutinho injury instead of changing to Eriksen), McAuley (picked Evans and Foster on my first wildcard), Kane (only owned him in gameweeks 15–17 where he scored 6 points total and I captained him twice), and not having Sánchez and Lukaku for their large hauls.

      I still have triple captain, wildcard and bench boost (plus all-out attack!!!) left, so decent and somewhat realistic would be inside top 50k by the end of the season.

      Current Rank— 263,000

      Target Rank— 100,000, if that is achieved, then 50,000.

      Next season I would definitely be targeting top 50,000, but since this is my first season I have suffered from inexperience so it looks a unlikely.

        That's stellar!

        150 points off the top is quite a gap, though, but not impossible as it's only 1 guy without chips, and the rest "only" 100 ahead.

        Some savvy risks could see him through.

    Eriksen and Lukaku » Sterling and Kun (possible at TC, atleast C) -4
    After dgw Kun » Lukaku.

    Or just Lukaku » Aguero and no hit?

      It's such a pathetic chip. FPL should do away with it next season. Or better yet swap it for a chip that allows you to get double points for your vice captain as well as captain one week.

      1. Pep says
        • 10 Years
        9 years, 23 days ago

        That would be a good one. 'double captain chip'.

        Trouble is a lot of people just want a chip which automatically gives them more points.

        If AOA is replaced there still needs to be that risk element.

        1. Pep says
          • 10 Years
          9 years, 23 days ago

          Triple captain and bench boost does this. AOA far from guarantees extra points. Mate of mine used BB last year and got a -3, lol

        2. Pasqualinho
          • 16 Years
          9 years, 23 days ago

          It's now become my favourite chip. There's a risk element to it - we don't know if it's going to succeed or not. In fact, it's exactly like sending a defender up to the forward line to try and salvage a game - it could turn out to be a complete disaster. Maybe we should just do away with the H2H wrecking TC and BB chips and just have 5 AOAs per season.

    1) Costa/Alonso -> Kun/Mawson -4
    2) Lallana -> Sterling
    3) Costa/Lallana -> Kun/King -4
    4) Ibra/Stanislas -> Kun/Carroll -4

    Heaton, Pickford
    Alonso, Coleman, Brunt, Amat, Love
    Mane, Alli, Siggy, Phillips, Capoue
    Lukaku, Defoe, Ibra
    1FT, 3.2 ITB
    Best move for me IF city have a DGW :
    1. Alli,Defoe > Kun, Chadli (-4) (No headache of getting Kaku back for 28 plus i get chadli who plays in 28)
    2. Kaku > Kun (No hit , but have to get kaku back for GW28)
    3. Kaku,Alli > Kun,Sterling/Sane (-4) (Have to get Kaku back for GW28 and also probably lose sterling for someone who plays GW 28 later)

    Hey guys still have my WC and not sure when to play it. Don't want to leave it until GW37 as it's too late to go with just one FT per week. Any thoughts which week could be good? I might keep TC for 37 (Alexis) and use my WC and BB over two consecutive weeks.

    Heaton - Pickford
    Coleman - Brunt - McAuley - Pieters - Amat
    Siggie - Alexis - King - Phillips - Eriksen
    Costa - Lukaku - Carroll

      WC 36, BB 37 to give maximum point opportunity.

      Plan well and use free transfers to strengthen your team generally, and use hits to bring in DGW players between now and 36,

        Thanks. I'm sitting second in both my leagues and am only 15-20 points behind both leaders so no need for panic.

        What about TC? Should I use that in 34 (likely DGW?) or maybe this week (Kun for -4 hit) if City win tomorrow?

        1. Hotdogs for Tea
          • 10 Years

          Can't answer that, same issue for me.

          I will wait to see if Kun plays against Huddersfield, if not and they win, then I may consider TC because it will be a huge differential with his low effective ownership.

          Waiting for other GWs is a good idea but injuries happen etc. so no guarantee that Sanchez will play, but I would always be covering him with the Captain arm band in DGWs.
