The first double Gameweek of the season has seen us plump for midfielders from Manchester City and Stoke City, while Swansea City’s soft upcoming schedule, along with the fact that they play in Gameweek 28, has seen us turn to lone striker.

Kevin De Bruyne

With Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane joining Sergio Aguero in this week’s Scout Picks, Kevin De Bruyne wins the vote as our City differential for double Gameweek 27 clashes away to Sunderland and at home to Stoke.

The two fixtures look hugely promising regarding the prospects of the City attack, with Sunderland sitting second for big chances conceded over the last four matches with 10, while the Potters have shipped four goals in each of their last three away matches to top six clubs.

De Bruyne’s underlying statistics from City’s last four league clashes offer encouragement, with the midfielder having created eight chances, while he’s also registered nine goal attempts over the same period, with seven arriving from inside the box.

So while De Bruyne has been an underachieving Fantasy asset so far this season – relative to his 10.5 price tag in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) – with just four goals and 12 assists to his name, he could be worth a gamble over the double.

He sits in just 7.8% of FPL squads, and having started City’s last 12 league matches, looks a good bet to be named in the first XI for both fixtures.

So while much attention regarding City attacking players has focused on the aforementioned trio, it’s possible that De Bruyne could be a worthwhile investment for those whose budget can stretch that far.

He also looks a good option for those desperate to make up some lost ground, with the Belgian snapped up by less than 30,000 FPL managers so far this week, compared to over 50,000 for Sane, and 175,000+ for both Sterling and Aguero.

Marko Arnautovic

It’s Stoke match-up against Middlesbrough this afternoon that has primarily brought Marko Arnautovic to our attention.

While ‘Boro have only conceded three goals in their last four matches, they do rank joint-fourth for the most shots conceded inside the box over that period with 38.

The Potters are expected to put in a much-improved performance after last week’s chastening 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, with Mark Hughes likely to have taken his squad to task during the week.

Although the City clash will be a testing one for Stoke, Pep Guardiola’s men have conceded in each of their last four at the Etihad, offering hope that the Potters could get on the scoresheet on Wednesday night.

Arnautovic, who’s available at 7.1 in FPL, has only produced two goals and an assist in his last six outings, but having registered 11 goals and six assists last term, he has previously shown the quality to shine as a mid-priced Fantasy asset.

The big attraction regarding the Austrian is that he’s currently owned by just 1% of FPL bosses, so if you’re worried about loading up on too many City players, he could provide a different route into taking advantage of the double.

Fernando Llorente

While City and Stoke have dominated our thoughts this week, it can’t be forgotten that just eight teams are set to play in Gameweek 28.

Players who face a fixture next weekend remain desirable, then, and Swansea City’s Fernando Llorente looks to have moved himself to the front of the queue among the low-to-mid-price forwards.

The Spaniard, who costs just 6.3 in FPL, registered his ninth goal of the season in last weekend’s 3-1 defeat to Chelsea, and now looks a great option ahead of some very favourable fixtures (BUR, hul, bou, MID) over the next four Gameweeks.

Looking at this afternoon’s match-up, Llorente, who offers a huge threat from set-plays, could take advantage against a Burnley side that has allowed the second-most chances from set-pieces this season with 119.

Next weekend’s opponents, Hull City, ironically sit third in the same category, having allowed 116 chances from set-plays, while no team has conceded more goals than Bournemouth’s 12 over the last four matches.

The upcoming schedule looks very kind for Llorente, then, and while Gylfi Sigurdsson remains the standout option from the Swans’ attack, the 6%-owned Spaniard could also thrive over the next month.

None of them have huge potential this week, imo.

Phillips won't start and Spurs v Everton might be quite tight.

Ibra, Kun, Mata, Sterling and Sane appear to me to be the players likely to score big this GW.

As I said to Hindu monkey below the TC is best used when there is an explosive player who has both the form and the fixtures. With 4 goals in 2 and facing sun & STK, Aguero fits the TC criteria perfectly.

I'm in for TC. If it goes wrong I'll have no regrets. He's in standout form, Pep seems to have found his best team. Aguerro has a point to prove with Jesus on the bench and I fear an Aguerro with an agenda.

The Sanchez double could feature Giroud and he's been lucky lately with last minute penalties and a handball goal. Arsenal can't keep clean sheets either so the appeal of his 3pts per clean sheet is diminished.

And I don't trust Ibra's legs as the season goes on. He was crocked at the end of the Southampton game. If they went to extra time, there's no way he would have lasted. Chelsea is gonna be a tough game for him next weekend and progression in Europe means more games.

Chelsea assets not explosive enough over 2 games, far too risky.

My BB chip will occupy Kane's double GW.

Every DGW captain carries risk. For me, I'm taking the chance when I have it!

Goodluck to all Aguerro owners and as much luck as can be afforded to non owners!

When in trouble, triple! Fielding SAS, and TCing.

I've been one of the Pep/City naysayers for the last couple of months, but circumstances have changed quite dramatically: Jesus is out, Sané and Sterling seems to be an integral part of the attack, and City is bang on form. I think Pep has found his best starting XI, and will field them as long as there's still a chance to catch Chelsea for the title.

I think all three will play 60+ mins in both games, combined with so many known variables regarding fixtures and form, I think it's a good time to roll the dice.

      I'm TC'ing Kun this GW.

As Jake Donahue said above, this appears to be the perfect storm.

An in form striker playing for a team who are suddenly in red hot form and scoring for fun up against the 2 defences that hav conceded a ton of goals recently.

It may not work out, but realistically the only other players with explosive enough potential and still on for a DGW imo are Kane, Ibra and Alexis. Will any of them have fixtures this good in their DGW's though?

Okay, here's a genuine thought ie the doubles and triple. Everybody seems set on bench boost 37 and triple either now or one of the other single doubles (likely to involve United or Arsenal)

But why don't you switch that over given the better and wide ranging choice of triple in 37?

Surely if you say bench boost on a single double, and have say three arsenal players on your bench and the keeper of the team they're playing, that is exactly the same as bench boosting in 37?

so say arsenal have a double in 35

      35:
      11 single game week player
4 bench boosted players with doubles
      =19

      wildcard 36

      37:
11 double game week players (when rotation is more rife as well)
4 benched single game week players with best fixtures in 38
      =22 playing PLUS triple

alternative is 11 one week and 30 in gameweek 37

it's 41 total whichever way you do it

and triple Kane in 37 is calling to me

      discuss...

BB in 37 because more teams will have DGWs in that week, so you can fully utilize your bench, even if their fixtures are not fantastic. TC is more dependent on fixtures imo

there will be a lot more rotation

Chelsea have the best double for example

and will play the reserves with title already won

Wider choice also means more chance of getting the wrong one. Makes more sense with more choice to load up via the bench boost.

TC best used when there's one stand out option based on form and fixture ( i.e. 4 goals in 2 v sun & STK).

did that last year with lukaku

          never again

I can't go into a shop and order one ice cream from a choice of one, even if it's an amazing choice

          I want options

granted it doesn't make logical sense now I say that out loud...

Gwk 34 last yr Aguero and Sanchez were the only logical tc options. Small pool to choose from - remember what happened.

Lukaku has never been a good TC choice though unless he has two v easy home games. He is what he is....a great striker - but still below the likes of Sanchez and Aguero (post Jesus injury this season).

        Totally get this, nice post.

However when using bench boost on 15 DGW players the chance of catching a major haul is much greater IMO and more exciting.

Indeed. Also with just gwk 37 left there's no danger of ruining your team by wildcarding gwk 36 and bb ing gwk 37.

Last gwk of the season is a lottery.

            so often is week before

and it will be three games in seven days remember

everyone used bench boost in 34 or 37 last year, there were plenty of games to choose from in both

Hopefully we can learn from last yr.

What happened in gwk 37 is that we all loaded up with liv players who were part of a side competing for the Europa Lg Cup . So if manU are in a similar position swerving their players may be advisable. If Chelsea have won the title expect rotation there too. If you focus on teams with a PL place as their priority then rotation should be minimal.

Instead better to TC now as Aguero has Form and Fixtures
Allows you to even WC 34 and BB 37
Although I prefer to WC 36 and BB 37

Anything over 20 points (60 after TC) is a good return for a TC

Man City and aguero present that opportunity to do so now, Sanchez may or may not present as good an option but I think that can be offset by the bench boost score any way

I'd want to use by bb when I can maximise dgw'S

I really like how you've tried to separate the BB from the DGW.

Just a question though. For the GW 35 double, since you only have 4 DGW players, what's stopping other teams not BBing from having the same 4 DGW players? Aren't you in effect BBing SGW players? Wouldn't BBing just for DGW players need that your starting XI is full of DGWers?

WC team for a DGW tends not to be the team you want long term.

WC 36 and BB 37 with a full playing 15 selected from the widest range of options has to be the way to go.

Then you just have one game left with the slightly lopsided team.

        Simples

I'm TCing this week and my plan at present is to WC in 34 and get a squad ready both for the doubles there and also so I only need minimal transfers ahead of Benchboost in 37

With severe competition for both Champions League places and relegation (as of now), I don't see many teams rotating the players. If the mid-table indeed look like rotating, we have a wildcard to sort that. 🙂

Therefore, TC Aguero for me 🙂

in effect in a dbl gameweek. Fo exanple I am leading with 33 points. With 11 players that is 3 points a player you need to reach. With 16 players it drops down to just 2. Imagine when we have a week ram packed with games and you can field a dream team of players who combined will play 18/20 games?

That was when it was highest score among the champions that counted. This season it is the lead over the scouts that counts so all champions have an equal chance this season.

ok, but if you turn that around and say they can only field a team of 3 players, do you really think it possible to reach a 33 point difference? The number of players you can field makes a difference to the number of points difference you can achieve. Like I say I think this should be reevaluated next season.

Every gameweek is different. He has the same selection choices we have.Just as he has a chance to beat us with each player - so do we in beating him.

And in this gwk we go into it with Aguero, Sterling and Ibra and he doesn't. If anything I think with him having to avoid such obvious potential scorers I think it is actually tougher for him.

If he can beat us with his extreme differential team, let alone by 34 pts, then he fully deserves the voucher.

What I've very keen on avoiding is for any potential champions achievement to be dismissed because its in a dgwk or for another reason. He has the same chance as us and that's what counts this week in terms of achieving a significant pts lead.

Holmes has the same chance as any of the champions as it's the gap in score that counts.

He also has no Aguero or sterling . But he's played it well looking at the scout squad article as you did and going for differentials.

If Holmes beats us and takes the lead that will be due to savvy differential selection not due to it being a dgwk.

So here is a plan for Aguero

        Today vs Sunderland: Play
        Weds vs Stoke: Play
        Sat vs Middlesbrough: Rest
        15th vs Monaco: Play
        19th vs Liverpool: Play
Feign injury and miss internationals for a nice rest

Good morning! I wanna get Aguero in, and have to sell Kane and Alli. After Aguero for Kane, it leaves me with 7.3itb. Should I A) Toure (dgw), B) Lallana (plays gw 28), C)Arnie (dgw), D) Smth else

No - you are banking on one CS - is that likely. Boro might be jammy and nick one. For free it was a possibility.

This is not worth another hit right?

Eriksen ---> Sane. Probaly will take another hit for get rid off him.
