A busy Sunday comes to its conclusion at the Etihad now as Manchester City and Liverpool go head-to-head at 4.30pm.

Two of the top eight captains for Gameweek 29 take to the pitch now, with Sergio Aguero and Sadio Mane handed the armband by 8.33% and 2.12% respectively.

Owned by 21.6% of FPL managers, the Argentinian has found the net just twice in his last ten Gameweek appearances but history is on his side, having scored in all four of his home league appearances against the Merseysiders.

Both Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane boast far better form than the South American as Pep Guardiola’s side look to recover from their midweek Champions League exit in Monaco.

The former has produced returns in nine of his last 11 league outings, while Sane has finally settled after a frustrating first few months after arriving from Schalke last summer – the German wide man has racked up six goals and four assists in his last 11 starts across all competitions.

Residing in over 23% of squads, Mane has delivered double-figures against Spurs and Arsenal in the last four Gameweeks to emerge as Liverpool’s most reliable FPL performer.

Sold by over 118,000 FPL managers last week, Roberto Firmino recovers from a minor groin problem to return to the Reds’ XI.

What's the best Man Utd defensive asset to bring in?

    A, Valencia
    B, De Gea
    C, Both

Both on a WC. Valencia otherwise. The double up with Ibra is the way to go for DGW.

I think you mean would you get either or both- only one is the best...
I would get Valencia for sure and DeGea maybe prior to DGW for Man U.

If you were to estimate, how much is a WC/BB combo worth on a DGW?

I've got a 62 point lead over my cash ML rival and he has used all his chips.

Hard to say really :/ Even if you have WC, you need to correctly predict 15 players who will start for the DGW to maximise this combo. If you plan out well, i'd say you should at least be able to get 150 from this combo?

But you have a 62 point lead plus WC and BB i wouldnt worry that much. Look out for news and you should be able to predict those playing the most in DGW! Good luck 🙂

        I don't blame you.

He's spent most of this season scoring because he plays up front for what is still one of the most attacking teams and not because he added anything to the team....today was different. In that second half it was almost like he stuck two fingers up at Pep's plans for him and played his own game.

Heaton (Spurs H)/Jakupovic (West Ham H)
    Antonio (Palace H) - Valencia (WBA H) - Yoshida (Bournemouth H)
    Sánchez (City H) - Sigurdsson (Middlesbrough H) - Lanzini (Hull A) - Mané (Everton H)
    Lukaku (Liverpool A) - Carroll (Hull A) - Llorente (Middlesbrough H)

    Heaton/Jakupovic | Capoue - Brunt - Funes Mori

    ITB: 6.1m

Why do some people want Klopp out...

    and Wenger out...

Look at Mourinho! Nobody calls for his resignation, he spent a gazillion, and is blaming everyone else

    1. Somalion
      • 16 Years
      9 years, 12 days ago

A point you should take with you for all future managerial debates.

Managers in modern football rarely have entire control over transfers. They have some input, but laying the blame at their feet for purchases isn't correct. This applies to all of Klopp, Mou and Wenger.

As for calls for being sacked, Wenger has struggled to make Arsenal look worthy of challenging for the title for a number of seasons. The club also need to take the blame.

Klopp is in his second season when many predicted big things, especially given their start to the season and if they don't get CL it'll be disappointing. Rubbish notion to want him sacked.

Mourinho is in his first season, looks a good contender for Europa League and also pushing for CL. If they don't get CL it'll also be a let done, in particular given the number of times they threw away points in the league. Still, ridiculous notion to want him gone.

      1. Alexis Nonsense
        • 10 Years
        9 years, 12 days ago

Yes, but my point was that it makes no sense to call for their resignation (at least not Klopps)

And the fact that Mourinho is staying clear of sacking-rumours

I understand that managers don't have all the control, but Mourinho was expressing that these buys were his favoured targets...

So when Chelsea get Kanté for 38m and ManU get Pogba for 90m it is laughable

I'm addicted to FPL, and I regret giving up on my team at some point in the first few seasons. I'm going down to the wire with this one, but top 10k would be difficult, really need the perfect run in to do achieve it.

I keep saying it. OR game is a bad idea for quite a lot of players.

You'll only ever love this game if you learn to laugh at Coutinho's fails as well as Kane captain hat tricks and enjoy them both.

Yep being at piece with how much luck is involved is crucial to mental wellbeing.
Problem is its human nature to think good luck is deserved and bad luck is a travesty to our great managerial skills

Need to settle on a style of playing and tak satisfaction in it. e.g. steady/consensus vs maverick/differential captains. Personally, mixing it up this season isn't fun.

I'm with you there, I've adapted my playing style for the first time this season (4th season) and mixed things up which has led to my worst OR yet. Taken quite a few hits which i don't normally do and gone for more differentials than the 'obvious' choices which hasn't gone all that well. Have averaged 20k last couple of seasons but currently sitting around 100k and 70 points off top of my ML, not ideal but still a few GW's left + always learning and hopefully do better in 2017/2018.

              9 years, 12 days ago

I made big mistakes from around GW14 with OR ~4k and decided I wanted better. First was to take too much notice of others' opinions, 2nd was holding player grudges (Kane/Lukaku), 3rd to keep picking Aguero captain in hope rather than logic. Next season going back to psuedo-casual; works better for me in my own bubble.

You need to ask yourself if you are still enjoying the chase for points, if all you feel is frustration regardless of GW score/OR rank, maybe take a break from it next season and see if you miss it or not.

I'm an Arsenal fan and i definitely won't be uttering those words. I have a huge amount of respect for Wenger after what he has done for AFC over the years and have never been part of the 'Wenger out' brigade, until now. For me it's time, time for a change and a fresh approach, i have no faith in Arsenal winning the league whilst Wenger remains at the helm.

Wenger out? Why? I'm a villa fan and remember many of our fans calling for O'Neill to go. Look at us now.

Wenger has done your club proud for so many years. Top 4 every year and excellent football. It's not him that's stopping Arsenal win the league, it's the mega money of City and Chelsea that's done it. Someone has to lose.

Arsenal won't do better than Arsene Wenger. Not a chance.

I thought this may spark some debate haha. I hear you and understand why you would have that point of view. He is a superb manager and an excellent business man, new stadium, stayed in top 4 etc, i get it. I have been a season ticket holder over the years and still think very highly of Wenger in terms of what he has done for the club historically & the style of play he injected into the club. I just can't help but feel it's time for a change now, call me greedy but top 4 season after season (may not even top 4 this year) doesn't feel enough. You may be right, maybe no one will achieve more than Wenger is currently but i don't believe he can do any more at AFC than he is already and at this stage I'd be willing to gamble on a new manager going forward.

Wenger has only the last two season been able to keep his big stars

Earlier they were a farmer team who made gold out of talents, and had to sell (owners run like business, not like a team)

Now give Wenger another season, their team is good enough to go all the way, but so are 6 other teams!

I just don't know what to do with my team. The move that keeps popping up in my head is Kun -> Deeney. But that would leave me with 8.0 ITB and that's just plain stupid.

            Hennessey Grant
            Brunt Baines Alonso Mee Robertson
            Coutinho Firmino Sterling King Tarroll
            Kun Vardy Lukaku

Any suggestions? Hit happy up to a -8.

I had a game plan right up until Kane got injured. Now that Haz, Sanchez and Gabbi are doubts, there's no obvious moves any more. I don't trust Pep or City. That's why I'm thinking of dropping Kun.

I would rather wait, to get the most out of wildcard, you need to know how the DGWs are scheduled...

Stay calm, and reap the rewards

So I would do: Funes Mori --> Valencia

              Than sort out Nyom/Pennington
