Earlier this morning, the Premier League kindly helped to relieve the monotony brought on by another international break by confirming the rescheduling of a number of fixtures that were previously postponed due to FA Cup ties.

The following matches have now been moved into Gameweek 34:

Chelsea v Southampton
Arsenal v Leicester
Crystal Palace v Spurs
Middlesbrough v Sunderland
Manchester City v Manchester United

As a result, we now have three teams set to play twice in Gameweek 34 – Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough and Manchester United.

Palace hardly have the most appealing pair of fixtures – Big Sam’s will now travel to Liverpool before hosting Spurs.

Middlesbrough face two vital relegation clashes, with a trip to Bournemouth preceding their home encounter with Sunderland.

Man United, meanwhile, will hit the road twice – making their way to Burnley before rolling up to neighbours City on Thursday April 27 in the final match of Gameweek 34.

As a result of this rescheduling, those holding West Bromwich Albion players should be aware that the Baggies are the only team that will face a blank in Gameweek 34.

The Premier League have also revealed that the remaining postponed fixtures will be confirmed “on or around Friday, April 7”, which is just prior to the weekend of Gameweek 32.

At present, there are six matches yet to be afforded a new date:

Arsenal v Sunderland
Chelsea v Watford
Leicester v Spurs
Man City v West Brom
Southampton v Arsenal
Southampton v Man United

We’ll go into more detail on the knock-on effect of today’s news in future “Scouting the Doubles” fixtures nearer the time but, for now, this is just a heads-up.

It's a little too early to tell how Boroughs new management may impact on the team, they have the nicest fixtures and other players may emerge as half decent options between now and then

I have Baines and Coleman. Now more than ever, Valencia seems right for my team. I want to ship Baines - this GW or the following one? It would be for a -4 either case but I think there may be a few pens at the Merseyside derby.

Hoping Southampton/Arsenal is in GW36. Ibra TC in 34 isn't as appealing as Sanchez TC in 36 i think. I could then spend all my transfers now to get a squad of 11 that have a DGW in 34.

Then WC in 35 to get the mid/pal etc. players out while loading up on the 37 DGW players, TC in 36(Sanchez vs United and Southampton) and bench boost in 37.

Not sure about that plan. Single GW players the big teams may well outscore Boro and Palace players in DGW34.

WC 35, TC 36 and BB37 sounds good but wouldn't want 11 DGW players in 34.

Really depends on your team. Most will have decent teams for GW34 without a wildcard. Then wildcard on the week of Arsenal v Southampton for those who used TC already to set up for the last 3/4 weeks

Not sure - might be worth doing what Demi is talking about and getting rid of the dross from your team in GW35.

Man United do have another double in 37 of course but teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and City all have better double gameweeks, you're unlikely to have place for 3 United players in 37 but might want that for 34

I can get valdes Valencia mata and ibra in for gw34 for no hits and will then use wildcard in gw35! Can choose players from the best teams and ensure I load up on Arsenal and saints players for their dbgw in 35 or 36

Every year they dream of filling up with 15 DGWers and every year the reality hits them like a steam train.

7/8 players is, and always has been, the right number of players for a DGW without ballsing up your squad afterwards.

It's easy enough to plan for.

I think last year proved it is about quality and quantity. The only caveat I would add is a lot of high quality teams in dbgw this year. But bench boost overrated. Just 1 extra keeper 2 extra defenders and 1 extra midfielder/forward. More about getting clean sheets. The ideal split may be 11-12 dbgwers and 3-4 quality single gwers

DGW announcements have only slightly affected my wildcard team. Thoughts on this...

    Valdes, Pickford
    Alonso, Valencia, Vertonghen, Yoshida, Friend
    Sánchez, Alli, Firmino, Sigurdsson, Pedro
    Lukaku, Vardy, Barnes

I'd be playing 3-5-2 and look to bring in Ibra and possibly Zaha for GW34.

If Sanchez is ruled out, thoughts on this? 8 pointers rarely work out, but I'm thinking this could do nicely over the next few weeks.

    F Mori, Brunt & Sanchez -> Valencia, Alonso & Alli (-8)

    Jaku
    Robertson, Baines, Brunt
    Sanchez, Eriksen, Firmino, King, Snoddy
    Aguero, Lukaku

    Grant, Barnes, Stones, F Mori
    Bank 0.2m, 1FT, no WC

The Southampton v Arsenal is still the key to my DGW planning.

GW36 would be ideal, I can WC GW35, TC Sanchez or Gabbi in GW36, them BB GW37

GW35 is far from ideal however, it would mean either

TC Ibra in GW34 (who's got poor fixtures), then WC GW35, BB GW37

    or

WC DGW34 (with GW35 TC and GW37 mine which will compromise the first GW), TC Sanchez or Gabbi in GW35, them BB GW37

Hmmm... so initial reaction to that news is that DGW34 is going to be pretty rubbish.

I am planning to have Valencia and Ben Gibson as well.

Ibra will be there for sure.

I have no remaining WC so I will need to recompose afterwards using FT and hits so I am not sure to get a keeper.

Currently I have Heaton and Jaku.

Maybe doing Heaton to Pickford to get extra cash is more benefical than getting a dgw keeper at this point

        Thx

If you have Valencia then Valdes. If no Utd defence then DDG.

Is it sound reasoning to ditch valencia after 34 to likes of monreal/mustafi for the two extra games?

think of it this way with 2 dgw a player plays 5 games in 3 once 34 has passed valencia will have 3 in 2 but arsenal have 5 in 3 still

Depends on how Arsenal are performing at that point (Wenger in/out?). Got other options as well.

sad to see that player power is a thing now, that pupils can now go to the principle and get teacher fired if they think they are being unfairly picked on. Ranieri and Karanka felled by a few spoiled brats. I think what Downing did is especially egregious. isnt playing well, doesnt get picked then throws a tantrum

whatever happened to 'stitches for snitches'?

caveat i would add to that is jose's treament of the physios who all the players were very close to and respected.
that set that in motion. yes they didnt perform for him but you cant ignore what a sh*tshow that whole thing was

Was out of touch for yesterday's games - what was Gabbiadini's injury, back after the break?

Problem with his groin. Puel said he'll be assessed over the next few days and has been withdrawn from the Italy squad.

looked bad to me and he seemed to think so himself judging by his expression,

not a contact injury, looked like his groin

So is it confirmed that the Arsenal vs Soton won't be played in/before GW34?

And the only 2 Gameweeks left to arrange that are GW35 or 36?

    Appreciate your thoughts!
