Assessing The Coleman Replacements

As one of the most popular and consistent defenders in Fantasy Premier League, Seamus Coleman’s season-ending injury has sent many managers scouring the market in search of a replacement.

More than 153,000 have parted company over the international break, with Antonio Valencia, Leighton Baines and Kyle Walker currently the three most popular alternatives for the Irishman’s former owners.

With double Gameweek drama set to get underway in Gameweek 34, though, many are already starting to piece together their Wildcard plans for the run-in.

For now, then, a short-term replacement for Coleman, taking care of the next four rounds of fixtures, may well be enough for most before we start to focus further on the doubles.

In this latest article for Members, we mine the data to assess some of the main candidates across the price brackets.

      Do it, it's a no-brainer.
      Coutinho has been terrible since returning from injury, cannot even play 90 minutes.
      It's the Coutinho from last 2 seasons with 1 goal every 5 weeks or so.

      I myself have been wanting to get rid of him for a while, but there is always a bigger fire to put out, Coleman being the latest one.

    I see many on here saying Bertrand or Valencia.

    However, on paper looking at Cedric's stats over the past 6 weeks or so, he looks like he has more assist and goal potential.

    Intrigued to know what the argument against Cedric would be (other than YCs) and why Bertrand instead

    Great article. I'm tempted to hedge my bets and go with Coleman & Jones > Davies & Cedric (-4)

    The cash saved can go twoards better midfield (e.g. Siggy > Sanchez might be possible rather than Mane > Sanchez)
    Then just get in Valencia in GW34 as a straight swap with Baines

    Interesting player to be added in Sarpsborg. Forward Erton Fejzullahu (played 5 times for Sweden, 2 goals and 1 for Kosovo) arrives from China. Good goalscorer and plays either as a No.10 or No.9.
