As one of the most popular and consistent defenders in Fantasy Premier League, Seamus Coleman’s season-ending injury has sent many managers scouring the market in search of a replacement.

More than 153,000 have parted company over the international break, with Antonio Valencia, Leighton Baines and Kyle Walker currently the three most popular alternatives for the Irishman’s former owners.

With double Gameweek drama set to get underway in Gameweek 34, though, many are already starting to piece together their Wildcard plans for the run-in.

For now, then, a short-term replacement for Coleman, taking care of the next four rounds of fixtures, may well be enough for most before we start to focus further on the doubles.

In this latest article for Members, we mine the data to assess some of the main candidates across the price brackets.

Real life 5-a-side team. Favourite players you've enjoyed watching over the years. Personally prefer Buffon/Schmeichel over Neuer but reckon Manuel has the better ball control on a tight 5-a-side pitch.

I assume Fuchs is a prime candidate in this article. I already have Valencia.
Fuchs seems an obvious one to me.

After that it is Spurs or Southampton replacements.

Chelsea are also worth a one week pick.

Essentially, yes. I wouldn't go for Fuchs personally though.

Maguire / Mawson / Fabio are also decent options, supposedly.

Walker / Valencia the main candidates, and I want neither.

So just looking for a bit of advice on this:

    Randolph (Heaton)

    Mcauley Alonso Mee (Williams, *Coleman*)

    Fletcher Allen Alli Sigurdsson(c) Sterling

    Carroll Lukaku (*Kane*)

    1ft 3.2 itb
    Wildcard available

    My thinking is

A: Coleman, Kane> Valencia, Vardy -4 and make vardy captain
Then bring ibra in gwk 32 by dgrading sterling next week.

    B. Coleman, Heaton> Valencia, De Gea -4
    Bring in Ibra next week.

    C. Kane, Coleman, Sterling> Vardy, Valencia, Sanchez -8
Forget Ibra for now maybe upgrade Kaku or vardy before 34

There was a tweet from a Norwegian source claiming he'd left their squad with a minor hip problem. But then, only yesterday, Swansea's official site posted an international update and stated...

"Sigurdsson is back in action on Tuesday night as Iceland face Ireland in a friendly in Dublin."

      http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/2016-17/international-action-round-up-3645666.aspx

So it's all a bit confusing.

Norwegian source? Uefa's Iceland team reporter from Iceland tweeted about it. Should have been flagged like others let's be honest.

😆 😆 its not an official source how can the player be flagged? Swanseas official account said he was OK. In the grand scheme of things what difference does it make? Moaning about flags on this site is getting bloody ridiculous

Like they have flagged Coutinho for being pictured in the doctors. Or Alonso's ankle injury when he did a snapchat picture about receiving treatment? Very official I must say.

stoke will not lie down to Leicester plus Costa is not explosive enough ...you should not be worried that much.... Costa probably if you want to minimise the risk

Southampton have a DGW which is yet to be scheduled, in addition to having one in 37. City play Southampton in 33.

Not really - there are just better alternatives in Spurs and elsewhere. Most here seem to have Alli or Eriksen or both.
