After Gylfi Sigurdsson disappointed during Swansea’s goalless draw with Middlesbrough at the Liberty, Gameweek 30 comes to its conclusion with the small matter of a 4pm showdown between Arsenal and Man City at the Emirates Stadium.

Two of the top five captained players in this round of fixtures go head-to-head now, with Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez handed the armband by 8.8% and 5.7% of Fantasy Premier League managers respectively.

Sanchez, certainly, is the most reliable of the pair, serving up a goal or assist in 13 of his last 15 league outings to clinch a place at the top of the FPL leaderboard.

Aguero has upped his output in recent weeks, though, with two goals and an assist in his previous four appearances.

Up against a defence that’s been breached three times in three of their last four league fixtures, the Argentine goes in search of a fifth double-figure away haul.

With Arsenal playing ten times in the remaining eight Gameweeks and City boasting nine fixtures over that stretch, the likes of Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck also have a chance to impress, with the latter handed a third straight start by Arsene Wenger.

Looks like Yoshida will be my highest scoring player this GW.

    Go figure that out.

Even more of a regret to have picked Sterling over Sané prior to City's DGW...

        He's done so much more.

Linked play well, made intelligent runs, forced the defenders into mistake through constant pressure.

        Pep will be delighted.

Did Coleman/Barkley/Aguero > Valencia/Alli/Vardy (C) myself...has worked well so far as long as Kun doesn't get any more points

Henry on Bellerin: you have to be fast with your brain, not just your legs.

And then: you need to think fast about the game, not just think about your legs

    (Words to that effect)

Is Bellerin/Arsenal's lack of footballing/defensive intelligence down to the culture at Arsenal (Wenger), or are they just not good at controlling the game, just an inflexible one-track set of players?

Tbh, I'd expect a full back to cover the inside (certainly when the CB steps) at an U12's game.

Basics not reinforced at arsenal. Perhaps trained out of the after they arrive from Southampton

Tello, Traore, Bellerin, all products of the Barcelona youth academy, all incredibly fast, all brainless.

      1. Ravager
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 11 days ago

True ^. Why none of them besides Tello got a first team run. It's also why I don't understand why Barca is still pushing for Bellerin.

Agreed. Think they put more value on pace than defensive quality

In terms of Traore however, it's mostly due to incompetence from his coach at the B team. Pushed more for results than actual development. Then Adama chose to focus alot on bulking up than beefing up his technical skills...
