Jermain Defoe is doubtful for Sunderland’s trip to Leicester. Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny is sidelined for a home clash with West Ham, who welcome back Michail Antonio. Fernando Llorente remains a concern as Swansea entertain Spurs, while Palace have problems at the back for their trip to St Mary’s.

Laurent Koscielny has been ruled out of Arsenal’s clash with West Ham due to the ongoing Achilles complaint that forced him off against Man City on Sunday. Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain face late tests but could be in contention.

Michail Antonio is back for the Hammers after making a quick recovery from a hamstring injury. Aaron Cresswell will miss the next couple of matches, though Diafra Sakho has stepped up his fitness levels and has a chance of making the bench.

Marc Albrighton has recovered from illness in time for Leicester’s match with Sunderland. The Foxes need to make do without skipper Wes Morgan, though, who remains unavailable due to a back problem.

Jermain Defoe is doubtful for the Black Cats after missing training due to a knee issue picked up against Watford at the weekend.

Manolo Gabbiadini has failed to recover from a groin injury in time for Southampton’s match with Crystal Palace. Sofiane Boufal is uncertain to feature after sustaining a muscle problem during training.

Palace have mounting concerns in defence ahead of their trip to St Mary’s, with Scott Dann, James Tomkins and Patrick van Aanholt all ruled out by Sam Allardyce earlier this morning.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns from a three-match ban in time to face Everton. Jose Mourinho has doubts over the availability of Paul Pogba, and also conceded that he reckons Juan Mata is out “for a long time”.

Morgan Schneiderlin and Aaron Lennon remain unavailable for Everton’s trip to Old Trafford, though Ronald Koeman is hopeful that the former could be fit in time to face Leicester on Sunday.

Fernando Llorente remains “touch and go” for Swansea’s match with Spurs as he struggles to overcome an ankle problem that kept him out of the weekend goalless draw with Middlesbrough.

Harry Winks has been ruled out for Spurs with an ankle complaint, while fellow midfielder Victor Wanyama will undergo an assessment on a back problem.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe was somewhat elusive in this morning’s briefing, hinting at “a couple of concerns” that he refused to elaborate on ahead of the trip to Liverpool.

Xherdan Shaqiri remains sidelined for Stoke’s clash against Burnley, while Peter Crouch (knee) is a concern.

Middlesbrough’s Fabio is ruled out for at least the next two matches with the concussion that forced him off at Swansea. Gaston Ramirez is set to be assessed after limping off at the Liberty with an ankle injury.

Matt Phillips remains a big doubt for West Brom’s trip to Watford – the wide man has no more than “an outside chance” of shrugging off a hamstring problem in time for tonight’s clash.

King a doubt now too? Was he subbed because of injury or where does this news come from?

Apparently someone posted he was a doubt

I guess that was the reason he was subbed, can't see the sub being tactical and he did get a knock in the internationals.

I am tempted to get rid

    Defence conundrum:
    Valdes or Jaku
    McAuley, Yoshida or Maguire (1)

I think Palace will score so leaning towards Jaku & McAuley.

Who are the best DGW34 options?
There really isn't much to play with!

    GK
    Valdes or DDG

    Defs:
Valencia - PvA - Gibson (maybe 'boro double up)

    Mids:
    Zaha - Lingard - Gasston(i)

    Att:
Zlatan - Tekkers (Negredo if desperate)

I'm actually not focusing on GW34 and instead will focus on 36 (or 37, whichever it is). If Kane is back I'd rather have him than Ibra in 34, for example. I learnt my lesson last time out with Aguero and co that two games doesn't necessarily mean more points that those who play one, and none of the teams involved in GW34 seem to have good fixtures.

        this is true.

I too got burned with Kun triple captain. (if its the week you're on about GW28 i think).

Kane should be back for GW35.

Q1. With Valencia and King as doubts should I do...
    Phillips > Zaha -4

Q2. Then play AOA? (only Macca on bench)

    Heaton
    Alonso Valencia
    Eriksen Sanchez King Zaha Siggy
    Lukaku Agüero Carroll

    Pickford McAuley Fabio* Kingsley*

Howe did not mention any names but...

Caceres hasnt played in age - He came in out of desperation. I see both Stephens and Yoshida as safe choices, but I'd opt for Yoshida nonetheless.

Caceres has been injured but fit now, althouhh dount he's match fit. Stephens has earnt his place regardless but if anyone was in doubt it would be him so Yoshida makes sense for an extra 0.3m.

Both....and terrible decisions from top down. He is truly awful though. So negative from the start and appaling tactics...in fact I'll rephrase, absolutely zero tactics. He's living on past glories and is finished as a top level manager. Look at his signings man. Shocking!

True story. I agree. They should have sacked him sooner. Relying on Defoe as their only source of goals was never going to be good enough.

Not just relying on defoe but not buying any back up. He's currently not playing his record signing Ndong in favour of a central midfield of Rodwell & Gibson. He reasons were first Ndong wasn't British enough and then secondly that Ndong wasn't tall enough. I'mean genuinely not making this up. Testament of the delusion of the man.

That's just a list of 17 people that happened to arrive at the hotel when photographers were there. Doesn't mean it's the entire squad. There are plenty of fit United players not listed there, like Rooney for example. Some travel at different times. He could be out, but it's far from concrete.

Haha - yeah probably a good idea to transfer out a striker with 65 points from the last 7 for a rotation doubt.

Is it crazy to think about:

Mané, Siggy, Lukaku -> Sanchez, Zaha, Ibra for a hit?

    Cheers

Llorente will probably be on bench anyway if he plays. Don't think he will be in starting eleven.

Defensive benching headache here, any help much appreciated!
    Currently playing:
Valencia (EVE), Maguire (MID), Pieters (bur), McAuley (wat)
    Benching Alonso (MCI)

Would you play alonso over any of those 4? All decent fixtures

    Heaton Grant
    Valencia Baines Bertrand McAuley Amat
Alli Sterling Siggy Zaha De Roon
    Ageuro Ibra Lukaku

    Should I wildcard instead??

    1. Holmes
      • 12 Years

Nope, why would you wildcard that team, few tweaks over next 2-3 weeks and you'll be fine

      1. Donblaster
        • 12 Years

I was thinking it could be a good opportunity to get some doublers in (Valdes, Gibson, Sanchez etc) and cancel out the 8pt hit

Play slowly... This week and next week's performance will give better of Boro's performance, whether they will attack or defense.

Not having Sanchez is an issue but cant have them all
