The Stock Check

An electric Eden Hazard and a late bonanza from a Spurs trio provide the headlines on a goal-drenched night of Premier League action.

Sergio Aguero also shines, but Alexis Sanchez is out-flanked and Costa’s expensive drought continues.

Here’s the Stock Check.

On The Rise

Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-min
The trio that kept Spurs’ title hopes alive did much the same for many a Fantasy manager – but boy did they leave it late at Swansea City.

The 32.%-owned Alli is the star turn, with 12 goals and four assists over the last 14 Gameweeks – that’s 118 points accrued since Gameweek 17.

Over the same period, Eriksen (16.4%) has played a fine supporting role, with two goals and nine assists for 83 points. The Dane has also hit two goals in his last three matches after going 11 Gameweeks without.

And now Son has emerged to steal a scene or two. Having managed just the one goal in nine matches from Gameweek 19, he’s now hit two in two as he duels with Vincent Janssen for the lone striker spot in the continued absence of Harry Kane.

The South Korean, you suspect, has done enough to start at home to Watford on Saturday lunchtime, with Kane surely unlikley to figure, despite reports of rapid progress with his ankle injury.

Spurs still await confirmation of a double Gameweek amid a generally kindly run-in.

The case for doubling up on their midfield assets grows stronger.

Sergio Aguero
Manchester City continue to defend by attacking, with Aguero as the focal point.

The Argentine’s strike at Chelsea means he now has four goals and an assist from his last six Gameweek starts – and nine from nine in all competitions.

Many of us brought him in for the Gameweek 27 double, when he disappointed, but we’ve not quite been able to let him go – as planned – ever since.

City have a great run-in and a likely double Gameweek involving West Brom at home, making Aguero potentially undroppable for the rest of the season.

And in the short-term, he’s a major captaincy candidate for Saturday’s home match with Hull City.

Eden Hazard
Just over 4% of managers captained the Belgian last night and were rewarded with a scintillating 13-point display.

His missed penalty took a touch of shine off it all, but Hazard is clearly a force to be reckoned with – at home.

He has four goals and three assists from his last eight matches at the Bridge and just one goal and two assists from his last eight on the road.

Choosing between Chelsea’s two big-ticket attackers is now all Hazard and no Diego Costa – the Belgian has six double-figure returns at home, the Spain international none.

He also has more bonus points – 26 – than any other FPL midfielder, with seven maximums to boot.

Philippe Coutinho, Divock Origi
Coutinho was sick at half-time in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth, but his seven-point return was easy enough to stomach for the 236,000+ new managers who made him the Gameweek’s most popular purchase.

The Brazilian now has back-to-back goals and should be recovered in time for the Reds’ Saturday trip to Stoke.

More than 92,000 took a punt on Origi to fill the Liverpool void left by an injury to Sadio Mane and the Belgian delivered.

He has two goals and as many assists from his last five appearances – most of which have been from the bench – and has blanked only twice in his last eight starts, recording four goals and three assists in the process.

Origi is deceptively consistent, providing the goals that his main rival for a central role, Roberto Firmino, can barely buy at the moment.

The Brazilian has five assists in six starts, but has found the net only once.

There’s no double Gameweek for Liverpool, but their run-in almost demands we invest in at least one of their attacking threats.

Theo Walcott
While Alexis Sanchez has started to offer precious little bang for his mega-buck price, Walcott is on a roll.

The England midfielder’s goal against West Ham made it consecutive strikes in the league and five from his last six starts in all competitions.

Arsene Wenger has started him in all but one of the Gunners’ last six league matches and Walcott is responding to that faith.

He’s a massive 4.4 cheaper than Sanchez and offers major differential potential, while still owned by just 4.9%.

Arsenal’s run-in involves nine matches and two double Gameweeks, with matches away at Spurs and home to Manchester United the only truly tough tests.

How to exploit that schedule is the question – Walcott is starting to look like another solution.

Josh King
Nine goals from his last ten starts and returns from trips to Everton, Man United and now Liverpool – the Bournemouth midfielder continues to highlight his fixture-proof credentials.

That’s just as well when the Cherries have Chelsea and Spurs up next, but King’s form and Bournemouth’s excellent final five fixtures make a strong case for his 13.3% ownership base to leave well alone.

And priced at just 5.8, a midfielder with 76 points from those ten Gameweeks is well worth a look for those not already on the King train.

James Ward-Prowse, Maya Yoshida
Southampton have two double Gameweeks to come and a pair of budget options well-placed to benefit.

Yoshida is the rock in an otherwise fluctuating defence. He’s started all but one of the Saints’ last 13 matches and chipped in with his first goal of the season yesterday to make it a very profitable 18 points in five days for his 1.9% ownership.

His 4.3 price is also appealing, Southampton’s consistency less so – they have just three clean sheets in eight matches since Virgil Van Dijk’s injury.

No such worries for Ward-Prowse, who scored for the second time in three Gameweeks in the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace.

The midfielder is cheap (5.0) and major differential material (0.9%-owned) and should have nine matches to build on his excellent form.

But while the Saints’ schedule is packed, it’s also tough – they still have five of the top six to play.

Still, at those prices…

Christian Benteke
Never mind the opposition, look at the goals.

Crystal Palace might have the run-in from hell, but Benteke is fast becoming no respecter of reputations. Having netted at Stamford Bridge, the Belgian scored again at St Mary’s last night.

If he can continue to defy the odds, Palace’s simply horrific schedule – five of the top six, three of them away – won’t matter to his 6.2% ownership base.

It’s a tough call, but a double Gameweek 34 is getting close, even if it involves a trip to Anfield and then Spurs at home.

Palace continue to fight for their survival against the odds and Benteke remains a perilous punt.

But he has form on his side, at least.

Alvaro Negredo
Form has been nowhere near Negredo in a long time.

A goal in the 4-2 loss at Hull City was only his second strike since Gameweek 17 and Middlesbrough are increasingly looking like making it a north-east double for relegation this season.

But Boro have another more immediate double in their favour – a Gameweek 34 involving Bournemouth away and a visit from Sunderland.

That, and Saturday’s home clash with Burnley, offer the tiniest ray of hope for Boro fans and a last chance for Negredo to be considered a part of our Fantasy plans.

Since the departute of Aitor Karanka, only City’s Aguero – by 15 to 14 – has managed more efforts on goal than Negredo over the last three Gameweeks for FPL forwards.

As a sidenote, the enigma that is Adama Traore finally earned his first attacking return of the season last night.

Predictably for a man with pace to burn and passing to bin, we don’t think he meant it as his ‘cross’ for Negredo’s goal was actually a shot gone wrong.

And then right again.

Harry Maguire
Finally Maguire got his goal…

Since he came into the side in Gameweek 15, big Harry has had more shots on goal (25) than any other FPL defender.

A headed strike against Middlesbrough was as huge as he is and was only spoiled somewhat by him limping off with a knee problem shortly afterwards.

That puts him in doubt for Saturday’s potential hiding to nothing at Man City, but a good run follows that, even without a double Gameweek for the Tigers.

In Decline

Diego Costa
The Costa exodus continues, unsurprisingly for a premium-priced striker with just two goals from his last eight starts.

Chelsea are staggering towards the league title at the moment, while Diego is even more off the pace than his team.

In fact, the only thing flowing with the Spaniard is sales out – he currently sits second in that category, behind the injured Sadio Mane.

Costa has never been an explosive asset this season, scoring more than once in a match on just one occasion. His consistency was his strength and even that is now eluding him.

Chelsea’s run-in is attractive and they have a double Gameweek yet to be arranged, so Costa still has the potential to come good.

At 10.6, however, that’s a lot of money invested in potential alone.

Alexis Sanchez
Arsene Wenger’s four-match experiment starting Danny Welbeck up front has produced one win, a draw, two defeats and one goal for the Englishman.

It’s also stalled the attacking phenomenon that was Sanchez, who has a goal and an assist from those four Gameweeks.

The Chilean has produced before from a role on the left, but in the three matches he’s started with Welbeck, Sanchez has managed only six shots, with a mere two coming from inside the box.

Theo Walcott has also out-shone Sanchez for both touches in the opposition’s penalty area (15 vs 13) and shots in the box (six to two).

Many of us were planning to use our Triple Captain chip on Sanchez for one of the Gunners’ two double Gameweeks yet to come.

That plan is starting to look somewhat compromised.

Gylfi Sigurdsson
It’s now three blanks in a row for the Swansea City star and he’s not scored since Gameweek 24.

Last night’s defeat to Spurs was a crushing affair from which the Swans might struggle to recover.

Paul Clement’s men still have a good set of fixtures to come, but they’ll need Sigurdsson to start delivering again if they are to take advantage.

The Icelander’s 17.7% ownership are in the same boat.

Raheem Sterling
Just 57 minutes and two points from his last two Gameweeks has been tough to take for the 11.8% of managers who have made Sterling Man City’s most popular midfielder.

Dropped to the bench at Chelsea, the only hope is that Pep Guardiola will unleash the winger for the rest of City’s attractive run-in.

A goal an four assists from Gameweeks 23-27 prompted a surge in ownership. Four miserable matches later and one of this season’s more fruitless exercises – second-guessing Guardiola’s intentions – is trying the patience of many yet again.

Robert Snodgrass
West Ham are struggling, their manager seemingly in many minds over the Scottish midfielder.

In and out of the team over the last eight Gameweeks, Snodgrass has produced just one assist and was dropped to the bench for Michail Antonio’s return in last night’s loss at Arsenal.

Antonio’s half-time illness got Snodgrass another 45 minutes, but he needs immediate returns from the Hammers’ kindly schedule over the next four Gameweeks to placate his 8.6% ownership.

Ryan Fraser
A run of 12 straight starts, producing two goals and four assists, earned the Bournemouth midfielder a spot on the bench at Anfield last night.

Eddie Howe’s decision was presumably based on the player’s need for a rest, although he’s done little of Fantasy note since Gameweek 26 despite some lively recent performances.

With Chelsea and Spurs up next, Fraser’s chances of decent immediate returns look minimal.

Ryan Bertrand
A number of FPL managers viewed the England left-back as their way into a Southampton defence ahead of the Saints’ two double Gameweeks.

A hamstring problem could scupper those plans.

Bertrand missed last night’s win over Palace and he remains a doubt for Saturday’s visit by West Brom.

Four assists and two clean sheets from his last six starts provided his backers with 36 points.

The worry now is that his hamstring issue might only clear up in time for Southampton’s matches with Man City and then Chelsea.

  6. Time to ditch Sanchez the winger?

Fantasy Football Scout daily hot topic

Is it time to ditch Alexis Sanchez, or is thata knee jerk too far?

In the last two games we have all seen how ineffective Sanchez has been while shackled to the wing. Given Welbeck and Giroud are preferred centrally, is now the time for his owners to admit defeat and look elsewhere. A Spurs midfield double up for example currently looks far more profitable, plus the Chilean’s hefty price tag could come in handy for those wanting Ibrahimovic or Aguero.

I had a look at his stats comparing Gameweeks 27 -31, where he has been played on the wing (this includes a sub appearance against Liverpool), and GAmeweeks 1-25 where he was largely used in a central role.

The differences are stark. In recent Gameweeks penalty area touches and goal attempts have been slashed in half. Headed goal attempts are non existent.

What few shots he has are way off target. His shot accuracy has slumped from 40% to 14%.

In addition he has got worse as a provider on the wing. Crossing accuracy has fallen. He’s creating less chances and also putting in less through balls.

He’s also making errors leading to chances on the wing, he averaged none as a central striker.

With Palace up next I’m tempted to ditch. But can the Gunners top scorer turn it around?

Are you considering ditching or not getting him in?

If an owner, are you tempted by a bold dishing out of a P45 and looking elsewhere?

I am really considering this. I think I can easily get in Eriksen and Aguero/Ibra. I have a 30points lead from my nearest rival in the ML and I can't afford to slip up now. No one has Sanchez and that made me think that he would be a differential but I would rather go for Walcott if I really need an Arsenal cover.

From what I saw of the game last night he's playing the wrong role! Chipping in balls from the wing. It should have been him on the end of a Bellerin pass, not the other way round!

Tempted to drop him. Earlier in the season his stats were amazing. But of late his Goal attempts, SiB etc etc he's nowhere to be seen!

starting to wonder whether I'm just holding as a "fear factor" against those that will TC him in DGW.
I can do Sanchez & Grosicki to Ozil and Eriksen or Walcott & Hazard.
A chance he may no longer be on pens with Ozil back.
Just doesn't look a happy player.

Interesting food for thought, Jonty. I was discussing this very topic last night with a friend who also owns Sanchez (indeed, we are the only 2 near the top of our mini league with Sanchez - we were hoping to gain ground with him as a captain differential but instead we lost ground to our rivals this GW!).

Those stats really don't look healthy, and back up what AZ was saying on the scoutcast about him not "looking right", I'm definitely concerned. However, watching MOTD he did lay on a plate 2 golden chances for Welbeck and Bellerin, but typically they missed, and Arsenal also had a late penalty turned down that he may have taken.

In conclusion, I think his goalscoring will drop, but he should still pick up plenty of assists, and I think is on Penalties. As an owner I'm happy to hold for now with the attractive fixtures and DGW's to come.

True. Its possible I'm subconsciously thinking his chances are better than they are as its just another headache I don't need in my team right now lol. Already had to deal with Mane's unforeseen injury last weekend, Llorente is rapidly becoming a problem now too, I have Ashley Williams banned, Valencia and Sterling are now apparently a rotation risk and Maguire might be injured too. Oh and I have the non playing Amat and Diomande on my bench so theres no respite to be found there either....

with Ozil and Walcott coming into form, and the double doubleGWs coming up for arsenal, if i owned Sanchez i would be looking to ditch in favour of either of these two. which could then free up money for Aguero. All hypothetical, but you've got to let the mind ponder these things...

Sanchez played out wide for Barca – he played out wide for Arsenal in two successive seasons, and scored very well without pens. He will still be Arsenal’s best scorer between now and the end of the season and they have two doubles to come!
This post is what is wrong on here imo – there is an oddly sensationalist reaction, which permeates the media, and creates an unrealistic expectation of constant success (and assumes players with easy games will inevitably scores lots of points). It effected the City double, when form and rotation risk were ignored because of an unrealistic fear that City would go mad. In the process, consistent scorers like Lukaku and Alli were sacrificed. Spurs assets were also lost far too quickly recently after a minor downturn.
Even Messi goes 2 or 3 games without a goal occasionally. Sanchez has not died as an asset – he might be slightly less dangerous but he is still Sanchez, and it would be madness to lose him with two doubles coming up and a suggestion last night that Arsenal might finally be improving. There is also the possibility that he might still play up top occasionally.

Very good post, agree with a lot of your points!

I think its worth asking the question though and bringing up the stats - sometimes its a minor blip (i.e. Kane not scoring in home games against Burnley and Hull earlier this season for example), sometimes its the start of a run of bad form (i.e. Ibra from gameweek 3-10), and sometimes it is the beginning of the end for a player (i.e. Ighalo last season). I guess the skill of fantasy management is in deciding which of those it is, hefty doses of luck involved too of course!

Sometimes you have to hold your hand up and admit you have made a mistake....

I saw in the previous game he looked ineffective on the left but instead of trusting my own judgement I went with the consensus on here (which I've always found to be wise). I think he is doing a job for the side there that someone like Ozil won't - it's probably easier to hide Ozil's lack of effort in the 10 role rather than having oppo full/wing backs charging forward. He also seems content to just play Monreal in and sit off rather than bombing into the area. I also think Welbeck is having much more of a negative impact than Giroud, who he combines better with.

That being said lets look at the plus points. Probably still on pens, still takes free-kicks. Still looks industrious enough (he has too much pride to waltz through games like his German mate). And of course the extra games he has. Is that enough for the outlay though? My own options are now badly hampered due to his cost. With a 20 point lead in my ML I can do a lot more protective work with that 2-3 million back in my hand.

I'm keeping for now. It's hard to say he's on the wing for good now. Welbeck is a bit pants and Giroud has had his chance as a regular. Sanchez could easily go back up front without warning and punish everyone who ditched.

you say Welbeck is pants and he is but this is Wenger... does he ever admit he's wrong or just keep on making the same calls over and over expecting a different result.. like with Arshavin.

      Wenger is just so stubborn.
Winning last night will make him even more so.
Will play Sanchez through the DGW atleast.

No he's essential especially with dgws coming up. I watched motd last night and he created at least 2 perfect assists, but arsenal missed the sitters.

Interestingly enough, this isn't entirely accurate.

Sanchez was actually deployed on the wing also for game weeks 18-23 when Giroud was a starter.

He was then deployed as forward for the Chelsea and Hull games and then it was back to the wing.

It was during this 6 week period actually that he delivered his best statistics even though he wasn't as prolific in scoring points.

So overall he was started as a forward game weeks 1-17 and then 24-25 and as a winger for 18-23 and 27-31.

So I looked at the most common attacking statistics and compared those two periods. Here are the results (per game):

      Winger Forward
      Points 6.3 7.6
      Goals 0.4 0.7
      Shots 4.9 2.8
      Shots on target 1.4 1.3
      Assists 0.3 0.3
      Attempted Assists 2.6 2.5

So, it's evident he is less effective as a winger, though not by much, and statistics-wise, it looks like he is even better.

Of course, you have to take other factors into account, such as the opposition. Sanchez was often deployed as a forward against the top5 teams, against whom he does not do well.

I think his decreased performance recently has more to do with his motivation and Arsenal's overall form than his position on the field. Taking those factors into account, it still might be a good idea to ditch him.

      I would not dare though.

Good analysis...although he played in the most advanced central role v WHU - his best score.

It is worth factoring in that for some games he played on the wing with Giroud - but there is something about the dynamics of that situation which means Sanchez comes further forward and central, while with Welbeck he stays resolutely out wide.

So yep, you are right to suggest that rather than playing on the wing being the problem, it is perhaps more nuanced with key differences between playing on the wing with Giroud and with Welbeck.

Don't think there's very key differences. We always change our theory, it used to be Giroud kills Sanchez. Then it became Giroud is good for Sanchez.

Watching MOTD highlights, Sanchez did often come central when he could and he played really well. Created a few lovely chances. Theo being on the other end who often plays like a second striker prevents Alexis from doing the same, there has to be a bit of a balance.

I also looked more at his position via the Members area heat maps.

Worth looking at those - that shows that with Giroud, either on the wing or by himself up front, he plays centrally and forward, with Welbeck he's shackled to the left wing.

the problem with this is the opportunity cost vs owning somebody cheaper which enables upgrades elsewhere? For those keeping, it's fine if they have Ibra but for those who are restricted by funds, surely it's better to have Ibra vs Sunderland this week rather than winger Sanchez vs Palace. DGW are not here and we'll probably be WC'ing before then.. I hardly see Sanchez's price going up. And Wenger loves Welbeck. The win vs even the sievelike defence of West Ham will just convince Wenger even more that he's right. Given Welbeck is a pacy direct attacker rather than a link player like Giroud it doesn't surprise me Sanchez is more restricted playing with Welbeck.

It's not about the opposition only. West Ham had the worst defense recently and conceded 3 and Sanchez wasn't involved in any of them.

He's no longer the focal point of their attack.

It also depends on your ML situation I'd say. For me having Sanchez in my team is a differential in itself I probably won't need to captain him against Palace. Aguero, Ibra, Alli, Vardy all better options this week I think

I got him for a hit this week so no way I'm letting him go just yet.
I don't know about you but watching highlights of the game I found him very good. On another day he would have had at least a couple of assists ( one for Welbeck, another for Bellerin and again one superb through ball at the end..)
It's true his role has changed - assist the assisster? - and for that kind of money it's not good enough but I also feel that a big haul is coming and I don't want to miss it.

      1. Pieterke30

What is a big haul though?

Because of having Sanchez I didn't have Eriksen yesterday. 13 is a big haul right ?

My point is ditching Sanchez doesn't mean you think he will never have a haul between now and the end of the season. It means you think others, most certainly cheaper players can bring you as many points as him - and allow you to upgrade elsewhere.

First round of fixtures Sanchez was undroppable. But he hasn't passed the eye test in the last few games - according to the highest standards he himself set in the (recent) past

My reputation has been shot Jonty lol.

Like you, I play the game very much based on stats. However, actually watching Sanchez play is very frustrating as he looks like he is an imminent points explosion. For that reason alone, and having a 3-5-2 formation with Erik and Alli well set in my team, I have no desire to sell Sanchez whatsoever. I am pretty confident it won't be a bad move.

This period for Sanchez not returning points also coincides with an Arsenal slump in form. Once they get their normal end of season form going, he will start hauling again for sure.

      Not considering at all.

His goal threat is diminished on the wing but he put at least 3 chances on an absolute plate for teammates and Arsenal had 2-3 clear penalties denied. Things out of his control, with a bit of luck he could have had a 40 point captain return and everyone would be discussing how to get him in instead.

Fickle nature of FPL at it's finest.

Was at the game last night and he was very unlucky to come away with nothing (even on the wing) he put goals on a plate for Welbeck and Bellerin and how Monreal never got a pen I'll never know.

Remember him being unlucky like this V Spurs earlier in the season, was poor in the next game and then scored 5 goals in the next 2 games so I'll be holding for the next 2 nice fixtures for sure and after that, he's an easy swap to Ozil if his former continues and Sanchez doesn't produce.

It's Sanchez' body language more than playing position that concerns me - doesn't seem in a rush to celebrate goals w/ teammates, reaction to missed chances he's created for others etc. Stilll, him operating at 70% is still better than many other miss & would be a no-brainer, shoe-in but for the price. Watching v. closely & be ready to pounce once the output jumps, but its prob at least a 2 move transfer for most.

A solid 50, and a 4th green arrow moving up 10k to 585k. Still rubbish but slightly less rubbish than I was doing!

Smooth; Costa>Ibra worked out ok, 'pool double-up with Firmino & Coutinho(c), started Maguire as third defender, Heaton cleanie.

Rough; Doing a Utd 4th green arrow and still slipping down my ML!

      Rough:

Sanchez captain instead of Vardy, was debating this all the way to the deadline

      Sterling, Siggy, Zaha, Alonso blanks

Llorente and Valencia no shows meant only 10 players played!

Roughest of all - Ashley Williams owner. Wanted the world to open up and swallow me whole.

      Smooth:

Vardy, Alli, Heaton performing well as expected

      I got Maguire's goal! 😀

49 points and a tiny red arrow. Very mixed feelings about this gw but not too damaging in the grand scheme of things I guess!

Rough: Being on 4pts from 3 players on Tuesday night, 4.1m GW rank. Sanchez(c) fail but thats fine, didnt expected much either 😳

Smooth: Quick recovery on Wednesday as somehow managed to finish with a 60 plus score. Big thanks to unexpected performers, Abel Hernandez and Markovic. Special thanks goes to Eriksen, Aguero, Coutinho who contributed with one goal each.

      48 (-4) - very meh.

Benteke in for Llorente decent, Sanchez for Mane less so - as was playing McAuley roulette again. As it panned out Bertrand no-show meant it didn't matter so much I'd have got his duck egg either way.

      4k to 6k - glad of a quick turnaround...

Rough; I had captain Sanchez,Costa and Carroll and my ML leader had Eriksen and Daniels (from bench due to Lorente no show)going into the last 45 minutes and he ended up with 13 points to my 6. The rough part being that I was about 20 points behind him and I really thought that i could almost catched him there, now I am 30 points behind instead. King 7 points on bench ruined LIverpool win, more frustrating real life than FPL wise actually, but none the less a rough I would say
Smooth; Yoshida goal and 3 bonus and Vardy delivered again. 54 points. Swap from Lukaku to Vardy prior to gameweek 30 was a good one. And the value gained on that swap allows me to do my wanted transfer this week.

      Smooth:
      Out: Llorente + Defoe + Mane (+ Firmino captaincy) = 7 points
      In: Big Andy + Origi + (C)outinho (-8) = 15

Not bad considering I potentially had all 3 players out. And still managed my 3rd best GR of the season. Definitely a Smooth.

I found myself in a corner of the world without wifi and couldn't change my team. I knew my captain Mane from the previous round, would be out. But I couldn't remember who was vc. I prayed it was Sanchez but knew my defence would be suspect. When I finally got back online it was 11 points and big Rom waiting to take his place looking at me. Wednesday turned out better as it did for everyone and thinking about what moves I would have made, I probably only lost five points. I can't help thinking though that this captain fail, which ends a run of successes, is a sign of things to come.

Please help. Three absolute car crash weeks have dropped me from 85k to 250k. Captains done nothing, strikers not scored a single goal. What next!

    1 FT. 0.1 in bank.

    Heaton
    Alonso Valencia Brunt
    Sanchez (c) Siggy Coutinho* Son
    Costa Lukaku Defoe

    Valdes Bertrand* Tom Carroll Holgate

    A. leave, save transfer
    B. Countino and Defoe out for Eriksen and Benteke (minus 4)
    C. Defoe to Benteke

    or anything else?

plan is to do Costa to Zlatan and Brunt or Alonso to a double game week defender week after.

Wildcarded. Lost so much momentum and team so poor, plus Coutinho and Carroll who I literally only just put in now looking doubtful, just made me think I'll change it up - team is full of DGWers anyway, so I don't care too much. BB left.

    Thoughts here?

    Pickford Hennessey
Alonso Valencia Bavies Yoshi Chambers (4.3 Boro is what I can afford - it's between him and Bernardo, but both will be benched til 34 anyway)
    Alli Eriksen Sanchez Sane MDRoon
    Kaku Kun Origi
    0.0 / 105.4 overall TV.

Kun to Ibra for 34, plus the Boro boys out toward 37.

    Any advances?

Neither of Coutinho and Carroll are doubtful?

Team looks good anyway, not sure about City double up. Pep will continue to surprise us with his line ups

Coutinho is flagged, and this earlier - http://www.claretandhugh.info/carroll-has-a-new-groin-worry/ - just made me think ugh. Had so much I didn't like about my team so might as well swap it up.

Yeah I know - I only have 7.6 for that final MF slot, so Sane seemed to make the most sense. Another 37 DGWer now (even though that's ages away) Tadic the other option but with two horrific fixtures no thanks! Kun will go out for Ibra soon, but feel like I should own for the weekend.

Coutinho was just ill and Klopp has said he's ok. Didn't know about this Carroll news, would make sense for him getting taken off early I guess.

          Makes sense, good luck 🙂

I'm on WC this GW too. You not tempted to squeeze Hazard in there somehow? Drop Alonso to find it? That's what I'm thinking anyway.

        Hey Gideon 🙂

Yeah I was thinking I could go 3-5-2 eventually. I like the 'Pool cover in Origi there, though, as their run in remains awesome. Haven't got the cash to squeeze Haz in anywhere, sadly, unless I don't have both of Alli and Eriksen. Feel like with the next 2 games for Spurs I should have them. Would have to put a dead asset in Ake to afford Haz, so I'll probably have to forgo that for the time being.

Kaku out eventually will mean I can rejig!

        What's your team looking like?

Yeah I think the Alli and Eriksen double is a good plan. Worked well this week at least. And Eriksen does tend to go on some good runs when he starts! They are chasing the title after all – That has to be factor.

This my WC plan so far. Dropped Alonso:

          Jaku / Pickford
          Davies / Valencia / Gibson / Stephens / Holgate
          Sanchez / Allí / Eriksen / Hazard / Ward-Prowse
          Aguero / Lukaku / Origi

          Future plans:

GW 34: Aguero + Origi to Ibra + Tekkers

Yeah I'm thinking of just putting Tekkers in now actually. Would have to mean Sane isn't bought, but meh, what else can I do!?

See how you can afford to pack Haz in now; I like the uber cheap backline - just be worried (without substance ofc) about Stephen's security of starts. Gibson is another one I'm not particularly interested in (though I can see how you can afford Haz now!) Think you have a little more TV than me - if I do Alonso, Yoshi and the 4.3 out for 4.0x2 and then Sane -> Haz, I only have 3.5 leftover. Not sure I can make that work.

            Looking great though mate.

They say TV does matter at this stage, but it does when you're on a WC!!

Yeah, I'm not sold on Gibs either to be honest. He could be someone else. Think Stephens is pretty nailed on. Dick Van Dyke isn't going to play again this season.

Maybe an early move on Tekkers is the way to go, but I can't afford that.

              Good luck with it Individual.
