It all begins at White Hart Lane, where a buoyant, free-scoring Spurs take on an injury-ravaged patched-up Watford line-up.

On paper – certainly, if that paper is the teamsheets – this looks to be a foregone conclusion.

While the Hornets turn up off the back of two wins and successive clean sheets, the encounter with high-flying Spurs was always daunting. When you arrive with a makeshift defence and your captain seemingly too tired to make the starting XI, you’re certainly on the back foot.

Motivated by lingering title hopes, boosted by a late victory at Swansea City and with Harry Kane looming large on the bench, the ingredients look perfect for a Spurs victory – perhaps a big one.

Fantasy managers will be keen for that scenario to unfold. On the scoresheet in midweek, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min will have many cheerleaders in this early kick-off and will be expected to share the profits again. As for Kane, he lies in wait, perhaps ready to exploit the latter stages of this match as Vincent Janssen is handed the opportunity to start as the central striker.

Meanwhile, in the Spurs defence, Mauricio Pochettino’s tinkerings provide huge frustration – Kyle Walker is seemingly rested to the bench as Kieran Trippier earns a second start in three Gameweeks at right-back. An early blow to Walker’s 36% Fantasy Premier League ownership.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Anyone know why Son didn't get the assist for Dyer goal? The deflection didn't go out of the box so by the rules on the website it's a Son assist?

England have a shout if they build around Spurs / Liverpool and City IMO:

      Hart
      Dier Stones Cahill
      Walker Henderson ????? Rose
      Alli Lallana
      Kane

It is the CM partner to Henderson that is difficult to find IMO. Need a tough destroyer and don't really have one.

The last couple of years have seen a better quality of coaching come into the Premier League, more prepared to give youngsters chances.

Poch, Koeman, Klopp are just good managers...make the likes of Mourinho look like a dinosaur.

All bodes well for the next post-Rooney England team.

the problem is the quality of the premier league gets overrated. its the most competative of the big leagues around europe and the best to watch because of that but look at how the big EPL teams have been scalped around europe in the last few years & thats in teams bolstered by foreign players.
the big german, spanish & french teams have alot more high quality home grown players and that translates into better results for the national teams
