If only there was a different Fantasy Premier League chip – one that allows you to extend the allowed allocation for one particular team in our squads – then we’d be far more content tonight.

As it is, we can only choose three members of Mauricio Pochettino’s irrepressible Spurs side and, right now, that proves rather problematic.

I almost felt like curling up in a corner after deciding to sell Son Heung-min. But, having played the percentages with my late acquisition of Dele Alli, my ill-fated Gameweek 32 transfers were undoubtedly driven by this very issue.

With Harry Kane returning to the picture and both Alli and Eriksen maintaining relentless form, even the brilliant and combustible Son struggles to justify selection.

There’s no questioning his value to us at present – priced at 7.0, his goal threat and flair is a hugely tempting proposition. His devastating 19-point return is destined to see him earn a flood of new owners and yet, as mentioned, the likes of Kane, Alli and Eriksen surely have to remain Spurs’ top three assets.

Alli’s sublime strike for Spurs’ opener means he has now produced 13 goals from his last 15 Gameweek starts. He is by far the top scoring midfield asset over that spell and simply has to claim a berth for the run-in.

Meanwhile, Kane’s return shakes up the situation up front but, like Alli, his potential surely has to force our hand.

He scored 12 goals from 10 Gameweek starts before being derailed by injury and, in this efficient Spurs attacking unit, he promises to go on delivering at that kind of rate. With 6.7 points per match, he remains peerless among FPL forwards.

Then there’s Eriksen, perhaps the most disposable of the three, but still a prime Fantasy asset. His assist today took him to 14 for the season, with ten arriving in his last nine home matches. Only Alli and Bournemouth’s Josh King has scored more points than the Dane over the last 15 Gameweeks.

It’s so difficult to justify looking beyond this trio, then, even with Son’s obvious appeal on offer.

Significantly, we have to consider that, should Pochettino revert to a three-man defence with wing-backs, Son’s starting role will no longer be assured.

Eriksen and Alli will likely support Kane, with the wing-backs providing width and Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele sitting deep. Son would be reduced to rotation and cameo roles at that point – and that point could arrive very soon.

Spurs take on Chelsea in an FA Cup semi-final following the Gameweek 33 home clash with Bournemouth. Pochettino seems set to go into that Wembley tie with a formation that mirrors Chelsea – reverting to 3-4-2-1, with Rose perhaps fit to return. Will he switch back following the semi-final? It’s certainly a consideration for those pondering a move for Son.

At least today’ teamsheet at White Hart Lane offered an obvious fall-guy to free-up a spare Spurs slot.

With the 36% owned Kyle Walker benched for a second Gameweek in three, he is already topping the sales charts as managers clear the decks for investment in midfield and attack.

It’s unfortunate that, with the Chelsea defence still unable to claim clean sheets, we can’t look to Spurs to help reinforce out backlines.

But with such attacking riches on offer, if we’re being forced to overlook Son’s form, then a rested Walker and even budget proposition Ben Davies, have little hope of claiming one of our now treasured Spurs allocations.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Whos the Kane enabler? Vardy out. 1 FT and .1 banked

    Heaton Robinson
    Alonso Valencia Nyom Mawson Robertson
Sanchez Eriksen Siggy Zaha De Roon
    Zlatan Lukaku Vardy

    Surely Alonso or Siggy? Thoughts?

If you need around 1.3 m I think might go Sanchez to Alli or Walcott

If a transfer too far Siggy to King

    From the FPLstats site:
When a player is injured (0% chance of playing), suspended or unavailable his price can still change in value. However, once his status has changed again his price will be "locked".

So, why aren't they showing Kane's price is locked?

Fair point. Plus, FFFix has his price change fixed on 0.0%, as they do when prices are locked. So it seems they have him down as locked and FPLstats don't. A little confusing. I think I'll get him tonight just in case.

Is Ibra to Kane then Lukaku back to Ibra the following week worth it? I really want Kane but don't want to lose Lukaku for the next game. It just feels odd as I only brought Ibra in this week.

      Heaton Valdes
      Valencia Gibson Vertonghen Stephens Huth
      Sane Eriksen Alli Sanchez Coutinho
      Vardy Lukaku Origi.

Just spotted something else I can do although it does mean no Origi Gabbi when fit, I'll leave it to a vote:

      A) Eriksen and Vardy to Walcott and Kane
or B) Vertonghen and Vardy to Holgate and Kane.

GW33 Kun & Vardy to Kane and Lukaku -4
      GW34 Lukaku to Ibra
GW35 Possible WC depending on pts gap on ML rivals

I have to hope Alexis can Counter rivals Hazard ownership

What would you do here? 😀

      Pickford
      Alonso / McAuley / Mawson
      Sanchez / Alli / Sigurdsson / King
      Aguero / Costa / Lukaku

      Heaton / Cedric / Carroll / Chambers** / 0.3m in the bank.

Defence looks crap but maybe McAuley can grab a goal against Liverpool. Aguero --> Kane sort of plays itself right? 🙂

        Depends when you're WC'ing

Your top transfer targets would be non-DGWers...I'd personally keep Aguero around.

So you'd be looking to toss Lukaku, Siggy, McAuley, Mawson & TCarroll onto the pyre.

TCarroll's too cheap, Mawson too, and still has good fixtures...so you'd keep them for now.

Siggy has collapsed as a fantasy option somewhat...he'd be top priority. If you're looking to bring Kane in, a double transfer of Siggy and Lukaku to Kane plus someone else.

Maybe Zaha for DGW34, or Redmond looking a bit further forward?

I'm looking at converting Siggy to Walcott...doesn't look like you have the fundage though without WC'ing.

          8 years, 9 months ago

Wow, thanks for the detailed analysis!

I'll be WC'ding about 35 so I can always get Kun back in if need be and there is the Jesus question mark starting to linger. Siggy is a strange case, four consecutive blanks is no joke!... I worry that ditching Lukaku(BUR) and Siggy(wat) before those fixtures with their respective Top 10k ownerships of 86.8% and 42.3% could seriously end in tears though 😀

Actually, looking at the fixture, Kun sou MAN aren't amazing fixtures, and he could be bought back on a WC.

Kun -> Kane looks like the move.

So I have been shouting about the triple Spurs attack for weeks now having had all of Eriksen, Alli and Son for the past 4 weeks (98 points from 12 players exc captaincy)

It feels similar to the Mane & Zaha situation all over again when they scored big before they went to AFCON, in that everybody that didn't own them dismissed them as short term options.

That according to fpl stats or the actual fpl website? Seems very strange if they allow any price changes to happen

Rising according to FFF and FPL stats, flag definitely went Red to Yellow first.

What's the latest prognosis for Koscienly? Gabriel a viable option?

How does these moves look to accommodate Kane and Ibra?

      Eriksen to Carrick
      Kun to Kane
      Barnes to Ibra

I'm doing it. Though hold Kun until 34 for Ibra is an option for the double too.

Spurs is first on MOTD tonight.

Trippier was really impressive. It would not surprise me if he keeps Walker on the bench.

Think Walker is still first choice but they will both get gametime in GW34 (inc FA Cup game) and DGW37.

Hi guys, I was at Craven Cottage today to watch Fulham v Ipswich. Spotted Virgil Van Dijk watching his old Celtic teammate Stefan Johansen. He was on crutches, with his foot in a cast. I think anyone worrying about the security of Stephens or Yoshida can rest easy for a fair few weeks!

Absolute quality from Spurs. I'm gonna call it that they're the best team in the land right now IMO and deserve to go toe to toe with Chelsea at seasons end if possible.

Another great game from him today and Eriksen definitely remains my player of the season.

yeah eriksen is class player. really underrated. would be nice if he could add more goals to his game

ive read that only ibra has taken more shots than eriksen this season

Aye. He won't ever actually win player of the season due to his lack of goals and the fact that he's not got the biggest personality in the game. Nonetheless he's plays an impeccable game doing so many thing really well and intelligently. Only Silva can match him in that type of game.

      Grant Pickford
      Alonso Valencia Davies Evans Amat
      Sanchez Alli Sterling Sigurdsson King
      Ibra Lukaku Crouch

Any early thoughts with 2FT. Thinking of maybe dumping Alonso and upgrading Siggy.
