Although only one of our Gameweek 32 choices delivered immediate returns – thanks to Marc Albrighton for his goal in Leicester’s 4-2 defeat to Everton – we’re hopeful that our latest selections can fare better this time around.

An in-form Everton midfielder takes top billing, while a forgotten man at Stoke City and a returning Crystal Palace defender also gain our seal of approval.

Kevin Mirallas

Following an impressive performance in Everton’s win over the Foxes last weekend, Kevin Mirallas presents an intriguing differential option ahead of Burnley’s trip to Goodison Park this afternoon.

The Belgian produced two assists for the Toffees last time out, and over the last two Gameweeks since returning to the starting XI, he has created more chances (seven) than any other Everton player.

He has also hit the target with all three of his goal attempts over that period, while no other Toffees asset has registered more penalty box touches than his 11.

Available at just 6.0 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Mirallas looks very kindly-priced ahead of the favourable match-up against the Clarets.

Sean Dyche’s side are still searching for their first away win of the season, with the underlying statistics highlighting their struggles on the road.

Burnley have faced more shots (314) and shots on target (108) than any other away side so far this term, while they have conceded 96 chances down the right wing in away matches – again, more than any other side on the road.

That could play into the hands of Mirallas, who is likely to be deployed down Everton’s left.

The Toffees have been in outstanding form at Goodison Park of late, winning their last seven matches and scoring 26 goals in the process.

So Mirallas, who is owned by just 2.5% of FPL managers, could be worth a gamble as a double-up option alongside Romelu Lukaku to take full advantage of Everton’s convincing home form.

Marko Arnautovic

Stoke City entertain Hull City today and we’re backing Marko Arnautovic to enjoy a fruitful afternoon at the bet365 Stadium.

It’s the Tigers’ defensive numbers over the last six Gameweeks that offer real encouragement that the Austrian can return to form.

Hull have conceded more goals (14), shots inside the box (61) and big chances (16) than any other side over that period.

They also lost 2-0 to the Potters when the two sides met earlier this season.

Although Arnautovic has failed to register any attacking returns over the last four Gameweeks, his underlying statistics suggest points are just around the corner.

The midfielder has created eight chances over that spell – more than double any other Stoke player – while he also leads the way for total goal attempts (11) and shots from inside the box (eight).

Arnautovic has endured a frustrating campaign so far, tallying just five goals and three assists, which explains why his current FPL ownership stands at just 1%.

But with further favourable matches against Swansea City, West Ham United and Bournemouth over the next four Gameweeks, he looks to have the platform to flourish as a differential during the run-in.

Priced at 7.1, the Austrian is probably unlikely to attract much investment given the Potters don’t face a double Gameweek, but as a short-term punt for those Fantasy managers who still have their Wildcard to play, he could just be worth a roll of the dice.

Patrick van Aanholt

Something of a favourite in these parts, Crystal Palace’s Patrick van Aanholt is among our selections after the defender returned to full training this week following an ankle injury.

While he’s not certain to come straight back into the starting XI for the home clash against Leicester City given that the Eagles have won three of their last four matches with Jeffrey Schlupp at left-back, the upside offered by the Dutchman means he may just be worth the risk.

Van Aanholt, who saw his price in FPL drop to 4.9 this week, produced a 15-point haul in his last appearance at Selhurst Park, bagging a goal, clean sheet and full bonus points in the 1-0 win over Middlesbrough.

That was his third double-figure score of the season, illustrating his ability to plunder big points in favourable home fixtures.

The visit of the Foxes to south London may not initially appear that kind, given the champions have won five of their six league matches under manager Craig Shakespeare.

But after rotating his side at Everton, he could well do similar this afternoon ahead of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.

That could play into the hands of the in-form Eagles, who have kept clean sheets in their last three home encounters.

So with the ability to garner points at both ends of the pitch, and with the lure of two matches in Gameweek 34, albeit against Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, the 3.3%-owned van Aanholt offers plenty of potential over the next few Gameweeks.

So it's your defense that sponsors them. Thing is AOA and bench boost will give you value of all those players but that's only 2 gameweek chips. Over run in you need to dilute one a little and up the defense surly.

I submitted this as an article earlier in the week but it doesn't look like it'll be published, so am going to post here so it wasn't a big waste of time putting it together 🙂

GW33 CAPTAINCY – ANALYSING STATS, HISTORY AND TEAM FORM

This article aims to explore the best weekly captain options by comparing stats, recent history and team form of the standout candidates. The players analysed will mostly be selected from the captain’s poll, although the top ranking ones at the time of writing may not be the only ones considered. The Analysis section may not always present a clear-cut winner, as commonly there can easily be more than one good option per Gameweek.

    SPURS vs Bournemouth (H)
Candidates – Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-Min

    • Tottenham have won two of their three Premier League meetings with Bournemouth (D1), netting eight goals and conceding just one in the process.
    • Harry Kane has scored five of Tottenham’s eight Premier League goals against the Cherries (63%). He did not feature in this season’s reverse fixture in October however, which was then the first time Spurs had failed to score in a league game in 2016/17.
    • Kane is second to Lukaku in the race for the Golden Boot this season, with 19 goals compared to Lukaku’s tally of 23. Dele Alli is 7th with 16.
    • Christian Eriksen is joint top for assists this season with Gylfi Sigurdsson and Kevin DeBruyne (11 assists).
    • Dele Alli has been directly involved in 14 goals in 13 Premier League games for Tottenham in 2017 (10 goals, 4 assists).
    • Only Romelu Lukaku (13) and Harry Kane (11) have scored more Premier League goals in 2017 than Josh King and Dele Alli (10).
    • Tottenham have won 11 Premier League home games in a row
    • Bournemouth have conceded more goals from outside the box this season than any other Premier League team (9).
    • The Cherries have won only once in their last 10 away Premier League games (D3 L6) and none in the last six.
    • These two clubs have won the most penalties in the Premier League this season – Bournemouth have won 10 and Spurs have won eight.
    • Spurs have scored at least two goals in their last 4 Premier League games at home, with the average being 3.25 goals per game (13 scored overall)
    • Bournemouth have not conceded more than 2 goals in their last 4 Premier League games (including matches against Liverpool and Man United), however prior to that they conceded 6 to Everton and 3 to Hull.
    • Last time Tottenham and Bournemouth met at White Hart Lane (March 2016) Tottenham won 3-0, with Kane scoring two and assisting another, Eriksen scoring one and Alli assisting one.
    • Tottenham top the form charts over the last 5 games, with 14 goals scored and 4 conceded. Bournemouth have scored 8 goals in this period and conceded 7.
    • At home this season Tottenham are top of the charts for goals scored and conceded, with 39 scored and only 8 conceded over 16 games. Bournemouth are 14th out of 20 with 18 goals scored and 33 conceded, also over 16 games.
    • Despite his injury lay-offs, Kane has 19 goals and 4 assists this season. Alli has 16 goals and 5 assists whilst Son has 11 goals and 4 assists. Eriksen has 7 goals and 11 assists.

    EVERTON vs Burnley (H)
    Candidate – Romelu Lukaku

    • Romelu Lukaku (23 goals) currently has more Premier League goals than Middlesbrough overall (22 goals).
    • The Clarets have had a player sent off in both of their previous Premier League visits to Goodison Park.
    • In 2017, Lukaku (13 goals from 42 shots) has scored more Premier League goals than opponents Burnley (11 goals from 146 shots).
    • Romelu Lukaku has scored in all eight of Everton’s competitive matches at Goodison Park in 2017; seven Premier League games and one in the FA Cup.
    • Burnley have won just four points in 16 Premier League away matches this season (W0 D4 L12).
    • Tom Heaton has made the most saves in the Premier League this season (120), while Burnley have allowed their opponents a league-high 573 shots in total.
    • Everton have scored 26 goals in seven Premier League games at Goodison Park in 2017 – one more than they netted in 18 Premier League home matches in 2016 (25).
    • Everton have scored 2 or more in their last 6 league games, including slotting 4 past Man City. The average number of Everton goals scored per game in these 6 matches is 3.83 (23 goals)
    • Burnley typically don’t concede more than 2 goals away from home. In their last 13 away matches they have only conceded more than 2 goals twice (against Swansea and West Brom) and managed to peg back Arsenal, Man City and Tottenham in this period.
    • The last time these sides met at Goodison in 2015 Everton won 1-0, however Lukaku did not play in this fixture.
    • Everton are currently 6th in the form table over the last 5, scoring 13 goals and conceding 6. Burnley are 13th, scoring 2 goals and conceding 4.
    • In terms of home form, Everton are third in the table with 38 goals scored and 12 conceded in 16 games this season. Burnley are bottom of the chart for away form, with only 9 goals scored and 30 conceded in the same number of games.

    MAN CITY vs Southampton (A)
    Candidate – Sergio Aguero

    • Southampton have picked up just one win from their last seven games against the Blues in the Premier League (D2 L4), although that did come in this fixture last season (4-2). Aguero however didn’t play in this fixture.
    • The Citizens last failed to score in a game against Southampton back in October 2004, having netted in all 11 meetings in all competitions since.
    • Saints are unbeaten in their last two Premier League meetings with City (W1 D1), while they have only twice previously gone three without defeat against them in the competition (January 1996 and May 2003).
    • Against teams he has faced at least twice in the Premier League, only against Everton (312) does Sergio Aguero have a worse mins/goal ratio than he does against Southampton (264).
    • Sergio Aguero has scored in 11 successive Premier League appearances in the month of April (14 goals). He's scored in all three Premier League games in April 2017 so far and is currently on a run of scoring in four successive league appearances overall.
    • In their last 5 meetings at St Mary’s, Man City have only won one game (3-0), drawing 2 and losing 2 others.
    • Man City’s recent away form is slightly patchy, with two loses and a draw in the last 3.
    • Man City are 11th in the form table, with 7 goals scored and 6 conceded in the last 5. Southampton are above them in 7th, with 9 goals scored and 6 conceded.
    • In terms of away form over the season Man City are second in the table, with 33 scored and 20 conceded in the last 16 matches. Southampton are 15th in the home form table, with 17 scored and 15 conceded in 14 matches.

    MAN UTD vs CHELSEA
Candidates – Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eden Hazard

    • Manchester United are without a win in eight Premier League games against Chelsea (D4 L4); their longest ever winless streak against a single opponent in the competition.
    • Jose Mourinho has lost both games against his former club since taking over at Manchester United, conceding five goals and failing to score in both. This will be his first game against them as the home side, however.
    • The Red Devils have scored just three goals in their last 10 games against Chelsea in all competitions (an average of 0.3 per game).
    • Manchester United’s Premier League unbeaten run now stands at 21 matches (W11 D10 L0) – the joint 10th longest unbeaten run in the history of the competition.
    • Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been involved in 18 goals in his last 17 Premier League appearances (13 goals, 5 assists) for Manchester United
    • Manchester United have won just six of their 16 league games at home this season (37.5% win percentage)
    • Eden Hazard has 14 goals and 5 assists this season. Ibrahimovic has 17 goals and 5 assists.
    • In recent history games at Old Trafford between these two have been low scoring affairs, with two 0-0 draws, one 1-1 draw and a 0-1 Chelsea win in the last four.
    • Man United failed to score in their two games against Chelsea, though these were away from home. Recently at home they have scored no more than 1 goal per game in the last three Premier League matches (against Everton, West Brom and Bournemouth).
    • Man United are 8th in the overall form table, with 8 goals scored and 3 conceded in their last 5 games. Chelsea are 4th with 10 scored and 6 conceded.
    • In terms of home form over the season, Man United are 10th with 21 goals scored and 11 conceded in 16 matches. Chelsea are top of the away form table, with 26 scored and 14 conceded in the same number of matches.

    ANALYSIS

Question marks over Son’s minutes with Kane back in the squad are likely to rule him out of contention for many, leaving Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen to battle it out for the armband amongst the Spurs contingent. None of these seem a bad option – though perhaps Dele Alli stands out as the safest bet to get amongst the points having scored or assisted in each of his last 6 matches. The returning Kane will likely relieve Alli of penalty duties (although only one of Alli’s goals in those last 6 matches came from a penalty). Kane owners will be hoping he can get stuck in straight away and continue his fine pre-injury form, though whether he lacks match fitness or can hit the ground running as he did last time he returned from injury remains to be seen, and will potentially be the sticking point for some when it comes to the choice of who to put the armband on. Putting all thoughts of injuries aside, the stats do highlight that he seems to love scoring against Bournemouth (5 goals out of 8) and he’ll also be desperate to get back into the race for the Golden Boot against Lukaku. Eriksen owners will be boosted by the stat regarding goals conceded from outside the box this season, given his role as the primary set piece taker. Bournemouth may have tightened things up somewhat away from home recently, but you would have to back the immense home form shown by Spurs to change that.

Lukaku is currently in first place in the race for the Golden Boot and his sublime home form is a big reason why, with him scoring in all competitive matches at Goodison so far this season. The gap between Everton’s home form (3rd place) and Burnley’s away form (20th place) is an indicator that Everton should claim another home victory here. The only slight concern is Burnley’s knack of normally conceding only 2 goals or less away from home, though with Everton’s form you’d think them capable of getting at least those 2 goals, and that Lukaku would be involved.

The stats prompt some caution when it comes to Sergio Aguero this week, with Southampton establishing themselves as a potential bogey team for City in recent history (City have won only one of the last 5 meetings). Aguero’s minute/goal ratio against Southampton could also raise some concerns, as should City’s patchy away form. Aguero has at least been consistently amongst the goals recently, so you wouldn’t bet against him getting on the score sheet with at least one.

Ibrahimovic and Hazard square off against each other at Old Trafford this week, with neither looking to be a standout option. The stats suggest this will be a tight, low scoring contest, as with recent matches between the two, especially with United looking to preserve their unbeaten streak. Still, Chelsea’s away record this season is formidable, and with them pushing for the title you wouldn’t bet against them bagging one against United, though with a variety of midfield options capable of scoring you’d be hard pushed to stick a pin on Hazard being the one to get it.

I don't know if i'd go that far 🙂 I think he's been overlooked due to the Kane/Lukaku debate though, was a hot option only last gameweek and nothing has changed as far as I'm aware

2 FTs. To make a move for Kane, I'd need to move out Valencia for a 4.3m defender. Preferably for one that plays in DGW34, so looking at MID defenders. Is Bernardo from MID nailed?

What would you do with this squad?
2 FT, 0.4 itb, NO WC

    Grant (Foster)
Davies / Yoshi / Valencia (Mawson, *Chambers)
Sanchez / Alli / Son / Siggy (De Roon)
    Kun (C) ) Kaku / Llorente

    1) Mawson > Gibson

    Alli, Hazard, Pedro, Sterling
    Costa, Lukaku, Benteke
    I have
    Alli-Coutinho*-Sanchez*-Zaha*
    Lukaku-Vardy*Llorente*

Do I do Lanzini > Mirallas for -4? Without doing a -8 I can't get Kane in for Vardy.

I'm scared of Lukaku's EO to be honest! Kane looks good too there's just a few question marks I have over Kane... this route can't backfire too much for me as I still own Kane if he explodes and his EO will be under 100% whereas if I captain Kane and Lukaku explodes then I'm screwed.

Morning all, everyone help me with this lot? Not sure what the best move is this week? 1FT - 0.6 ITB

    Jaku
    Alonso, Brunt, Bavies
    Sanchez, Alli, Eriksen, Siggy
    Ibra, Lukaku, Carroll

    Heaton, King, Daniels, Amat

    A - Siggy to Zaha
    B - Brunt to Ward
    C - Siggy / Carroll to Zaha / Tekkers (-4)

    Or something else...

Bottomed last article but there is not a lot of positive comment about Origi this week. I have decided to hold and not transfer to Benteke or bench. He will start as Klopp favours him, Sturridge cannot be fully match fit, and more likely to come on after 60/70 mins and that could be alongside Origi. West Brom form also fallen off from earlier in season and I can see him scoring. And I like to have players in televised game!
